Abstract

E-learning is an alternative for the world of education where to increase the ease in the teaching and learning process, the aim is to determine the level of independence of students, success in understanding the material and the ability of students' communication techniques. Weak monitoring of student conditions and psychological factors are limitations in e-learning learning. The psychological side includes motivation, self-discipline and emotions, therefore it is necessary to develop a system to help monitor the condition of students in using e-learning. Data mining to see the physiological condition of students on the use of e-learning aims to determine school stress (source of stress from the educational environment) in a student. The development of the model used is the waterfall and object oriented (OO) approach. The system designed is able to display physiological conditions with parameters of body temperature, heart rate and also skin moisture. The system is implemented using the model view controller (MVC) concept with the help of the Laravel framework and the HTML, PHP and Javascript programming languages. The Internet of Things (IoT) devices used are ESP32, LM35 temperature sensor, pulse sensor, galvanic skin response (GSR) and use the Sukamoto fuzzy logic algorithm.

Abstract

University of Brawijaya (UB) implements single tuition fee (UKT) system based on the students' economic background. Students at FILKOM UB who have difficulties to pay for UKT can apply for UKT aid to the faculty through Advokesma BEM FILKOM who will do selection for the submissions. The large number of data that must be verified in a short time span makes it difficult to select the submission to be recommended. A data clustering system is needed maket UKT aid submission selection easier. Clustering is done using K-Means algorithm using economic condition data of active students in FILKOM UB who enrolled via SNMPTN and SBMPTN. The number of clusters produced is six, based on the number of UKT groups in UB.. Validation test using Calinski-Harabasz index shows that six is the most optimal number of clusters with a score of 74.84. The K­Means algorithm groups student data into UKT groupsfor later analysis. The presentation of the results of clustering uses Google Data Studio in the form of a dashboard that presents information on the distribution of data and the results of clustering. Usability testing using System Usability Scale (SUS) produces score of 72.5 which indicates the dashboard is acceptable with a good rating. From the data analysis, Advokesma BEM FILKOM can determine priorities in recommending the UKT aid submission based on the comparison of the student's clustered group and the student's UKT group..

Abstract

Federated Learning (FL) is a new approach in machine learning or it can also be called collaborative learning, which is a machine learning method that includes client devices to carry out the training process, so that clients do not need to send training data to the server but directly conduct training on their respective devices. respectively. The models generated from local training will be sent to the server for further global aggregation. Therefore, FL is referred to as machine learning which can maintain the privacy of the data owner, because the data is not submitted to the server and is still stored in each client's device. In this study, a performance comparison will be carried out to prove whether the latest approach which is Federated Learning, can produce the same accuracy performance as the traditional approach, that is Centralized Machine Learning, in the case of Image Classification. The comparison of two approaches would be conducted by using the Open Source Image Classification dataset, namely MNIST. The performance of two approaches would be presented by evaluation that is Accuracy. The result shows that Federated Learning almost overcome the performance of Centralized Learning in the case of Image Classification by provided Accuracy 76%.
