In studying geosciences, students sometimes face some problemsbecause occasionally they are not able to visualize the earth in their minds. This difficulty is increasingly moreover, if it concerns the distance andheight of the topography of the earth, as well as the earth and its relationshipto all aspects of life. In this study, the use of google earth as the learningmedia has been examined to help students understanding in learninggeosciences. Students were given guidelines of google earth usage and thenstudents were asked to create a mini project in terms of using of googleearth. After that students were given a questioner that is questioned aboutunderstanding of the learned material with the help of google earth. Theresults show that almost all students are fully aware of what they are doing. They also gave an average score of 3.8 (scale 4) in terms of the google earthutilities in learning geosciences. It can be concluded that google earth is ableto provide a deeper understanding to the students in studying the concept ofphysics of earth.

Earth Physics is a course at the Physics Education Program Study,University of Riau, Indonesia. The problem facing by students were thestudent commonly not able to imagine the rotation effect and the tilt ofrotation axis to some phenomenon. Furthermore the students were difficultto imagine the subduction zone of two tectonic plates. This study wasdemonstrate some assignments to the student regarding the use Google Earthin the learning the earth physically. In this study, a total of 38 students werechosen to use the Google Earth as an interactive learning media. Todemonstrate the Google Earth in the learning process, several assignmentshave been given to the students. The first was to compare the distancemeasurement manually and through Google Earth. The seconddemonstration was to define some selected areas. The third was todemonstrate the tilt axis of rotation effect on the earth. The last was a miniproject to demonstrate the use of Google Earth in imagine of the subductionof two tectonic plates. The result shows that mostly students (92%) wereable to reconstruction the process involved in the assignment although a fewof them cannot explain well. Whilst, 8% of the student were still difficult toreconstruction the process involved in the assignment, although they cansubmit all the assignments with fairly well. Finally, the Google Earth isgenerally success used in the demonstration of earth physics subject learningmedia.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Cooperative learning model type STAD assisted by baamboozle game to improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes. The type of research used is quasi-experimental using Posttest Only Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study were 254 students of class VIII SMP N 30 Padang. The samples of this study were students of class VIII H as the experimental class and students of class G as the control class. The data collection instrument used was the posttest of students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the subject of effort and energy. The results of the data obtained were processed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results showed that the STAD type cooperative learning model assisted by baamboozle game was effective to improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes, as evidenced by the difference in students’ cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes.

In the learning of the earth physics, sometime students got comfusing due to they cannot imagine how to determine the physical property of the earth such as, its mass, its volume and its diameter. This study was focused on how to use the sunlight for degermation of the earth radius through the simple experiment. In this study, an accurate and simple method have been introduced to the student on how to measure the earth radius. The experiment just used a camera and then the student started to determine the earth radius. In the end of the experiment student can explain how the sunlight can be used to determine the earth radius mathematically. They found that the radius of the earth is about 6243.04 km with a standard deviation of 13.70 km. The average results that is obtained by student is actually within 1.9% of the real value of the earth radius which is at 6371 km. This study shows that the real experiment is definitely able to show the real experience on how to determine the earth radius.

This study describes the effectiveness of the use of cooperative learning model type TGT (Team Games Tournament) assisted by Kahoot application in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes. The type of research used is quasi-experimental using Posttest Only Nonequvalent Control Group Design. The population of this study was 192 students of class VIII MTs N 1 Meranti Islands. The sample of this research is the students of class VIII A as the control class and the students of class VIII B as the experimental class. The data collection instrument was in the form of a cognitive learning outcome test for class VIII students on substance pressure. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using the SPSS version 23 application. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in student cognitive learning outcomes between the control and experimental groups and the use of the TGT type cooperative learning model assisted by the Kahoot application is effectively used to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes. class VIII MTs N 1 Meranti Islands on the subject of Substance Pressure.

This study aims to determine the extent to which the development of learning videos using Edpuzzle based on Problem Based Learning is needed. The research method used is a survey method where the researcher collects data on the analysis of the needs of teachers and students as well as data on student characteristics through the distribution of questionnaires. Needs analysis data were obtained from 28 teachers and 79 students while student characteristics data were obtained from 93 students in the Riau province education office. Based on the results of the needs analysis, namely from the aspect of the subject, object, process, and learning media, there are 81.3% of teachers in the very high category and 70.1% of students in the high category stating that the development of learning videos using Edpuzzle based Problem Based Learning needs to be done to improve students' critical thinking skills on direct current circuit material. Meanwhile, based on the results of the analysis of student characteristics, 64.6% of students stated that the need for developing learning videos using Edpuzzle based Problem Based Learning to improve students' critical thinking skills was in the high category, so that the development of learning videos using Edpuzzle based Problem Based Learning to improve students' critical thinking skills at direct current circuit material can be done.

This research is motivated by students’ struggles in understanding some abstract science concepts and their lack of active involvement in the learning process to develop their thinking skills. Abstract science concepts and student involvement can be achieved through interesting multimedia communication tools. This research is survey research that serves as an initial step in the development of snowball throwing based multimedia. the purpose of this study is to determine what students currently need in science learning and how much students need for the development of snowball throwing based multimedia. the research subjects were junior high school students with a total sample of 72 students and 27 science MGMP (Teacher Forum) teachers selected based on region. The study’s analysis consisted of four indicators: analysis of learning problems, analysis of learning objectives, analysis of students, and analysis of learning settings. According to the study’s result, the information obtained was that the development of snowball throwing based multimedia needed to be developed as a science learning media.

The experimental device of sound wave in high school rarely available. This study conducted to develop a android-assisted sound wave experiment device. The experiment consist of four type of activities such as linear and circular motion effect dopler, interference and resonance. The study utilized the developmental research design by applying the ADDIE Model. The developed experiment device validity obtained from the expert while its practicality conducted by students and physics teacher consist of 10 students and 2 physics teacher. Based on the results of the effectiveness test on students stated that the android-assisted sound wave experimental device was declared effective in increasing motivation and learning outcomes. With an average evaluation of the motivation of the experimental class 85.56 higher than the control class with an average of 76. The average evaluation of the learning outcomes of the experimental class is 85.07 higher than the control class with a value of 75.22. Thus the developed android-assisted sound wave experimental device has been declared valid, practical and effective for use as a learning medium in teaching and learning activities in the classroom to increase learning motivation and student learning outcomes.

This research aims to identify the level of learning difficulties faced by students in physics at a private school in Pekanbaru. The research subjects consist of students from class IX MIPA of the science department. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, where data is collected through questionnaires distributed to the students. The research results show that the learning difficulties experienced by the students are influenced by internal factors, such as students' intelligence and motivation. These factors lead students to perceive physics learning as difficult, and they struggle to understand the material presented by the teacher and apply it to problems. Therefore, strategies are needed to improve students' understanding of physics learning at MA AL Kautsar Pekanbaru.
