Abstract

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Wharton's Jelly (MSC-WJ) has become a new hope for Alzheimer's disease due to its capability to suppress Amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaques formation. It is found that people with Alzheimer's disease have a lower expression of Sirtuin-1 because of the oxidative stress that was produced by Aβ plaques. Objective: To observe the Sirtuin-1 gene in Alzheimer's disease rat models that AlCl3 was inducing after being given MSC-WJ. Methods: This was an experimental study with a post-test-only control group design, including three groups with a total sample of 18 samples of Alzheimer RNA rat models. Group-1without AlCl3 and MSC-WJ; Group-2 with AlCl3; Group-3 AlCl3 and MSC-WJ. Mean value of the Sirtuin-1 gene was obtained by the Image-J application using a semiquantitative method which was then tested using the One Way ANOVA test. The study was significant if the p-value < 0,05. Results: This study found that the mean ± standard error value of the Sirtuin-1 gene in three groups were 0.18±0.04; 0.16±0.03; and 0.36±0.06 respectively. The statistical test showed a significant difference between the three groups (p = 0.014). Conclusion: There was an increased Sirtuin 1 gene expression in Alzheimer’s rat Model after being given Mesenchymal Stem Cells Wharton’s Jelly.Keywords:  Alzheimer, MSC-WJ, Sirtuin-1

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Koping merupakan suatu upaya kognitif atau perilaku untuk menghadapi tuntutan dari luar maupun dari dalam diri. Mahasiswa perantau sebagai individu yang pergi ke daerah lain dan dituntut untuk mampu menyesuaikan diri pada lingkungan baru, bila upaya penyesuaian tidak berjalan dengan baik dapat memunculkan stres atau bahkan beban mental yang dapat berdampak pada kemampuan mencapai prestasi akademik yang optimal. Dibutuhkan suatu mekanisme untuk menghadapi masalah tersebut, salah satunya adalah koping. Objektif: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kemampuan koping dengan prestasi akademik pada mahasiswa perantau Program Studi Kedokteran Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Andalas angkatan 2019. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional yang menggunakan total sampling dengan didapatkan jumlah sampel sebanyak 96 orang yang merupakan mahasiswa perantau Program Studi Kedokteran Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Andalas. Pengumpulan data responden diperoleh dari kuesioner dan data dianalisis menggunakan uji Fisher’s Exact Test. Hasil: Hasil analisis univariat menunjukkan mayoritas responden memiliki kemampuan koping adaptif (93,8%) dan minoritas responden memiliki kemampuan koping maladaptive. Kategori cukup memuaskan, memuaskan, dan sangat memuaskan (53,1%) merupakan kategori indeks prestasi yang terbanyak diperoleh responden dan minoritas responden memiliki kategori dengan pujian (46,9%). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan koping dengan prestasi akademik (p=1).

Abstract

Maternal morbidity and mortality can be prevented when women and their families recognize warning signs during pregnancy and seek health services promptly. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Android-based education to improve knowledge and reduce anxiety in pregnant women related to pregnancy danger signs. This study was an experimental study with a one-group pretest and posttest design, involving 87 pregnant women at Andalas Health Center, Padang City, who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data on the level of knowledge and anxiety levels in the pre- and post-treatment phases were measured by filling out a questionnaire. Furthermore, a test of differences in knowledge levels between before and after treatment was carried out using a paired samples t-test; meanwhile, differences in anxiety levels between before and after treatment were tested using the Chi-square test. The results showed that the p-value for the paired samples t-test was 0.000, which means that there was a difference in knowledge levels between before and after treatment. The p-value for the Chi-square test was 0.004, which means that there was a difference in anxiety levels between before and after treatment. Based on these results, it could be concluded that Android-based education is effective in improving knowledge and reducing anxiety levels in pregnant women related to pregnancy danger signs.Keywords: pregnancy danger signs; education; Android; knowledge; anxiety  ABSTRAK Morbiditas dan mortalitas pada ibu dapat dicegah ketika wanita dan keluarganya mengenali tanda-tanda peringatan selama kehamilan dan segera mencari layanan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas edukasi berbasis Android untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan menurunkan kecemasan ibu hamil terkait tanda bahaya kehamilan. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksperimental dengan rancangan one group pretest and posttest, yang melibatkan 87 ibu hamil di Puskesmas Andalas, Kota Padang, yang diseleksi dengan teknik simple random sampling. Data tentang tingkat pengetahuan dan level kecemasan pada fase sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan diukur melalui pengisian kuesioner. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan menggunakan paired samples t-test; sementara itu, perbedaan level kecemasan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan diuji menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai p untuk paired samples t-test adalah 0,000 yang berarti bahwa ada perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Nilai p untuk uji Chi-square adalah 0,004 yang berarti bahwa ada perbedaan level kecemasan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa edukasi berbasis Android efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan menurunkan level kecemasan ibu hamil terkait tanda bahaya kehamilan.Kata kunci: tanda bahaya kehamilan; edukasi; Android; pengetahuan; kecemasan

Abstract

Emotional stress is a psychological reaction due to stressors that can be detrimental, whether physical, mental or emotional stimuli that tend to disrupt the function of the organism which can activate the organism's flight or fight reaction. The COVID-19 pandemic situation is a new stressor for first year medical students because they immediately face the transition period of learning to online so they have to adapt to the new learning system. The aim of the research was to determine the risk factors that trigger emotional disorders in first year medical students at Andalas University class of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study implemented a cross-sectional design. The subjects of this research were first year medical students at Andalas University. The measurement instruments used were the DASS-42 and the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale for Youth. The total number of medical students who experienced stress from a total sample of 225 was 74 people (32.9%). The risk factor for student stress in this study was the learning process (69 people). Factors that aggravate academic stress were the death of family members/other family members/partners/close friends. The factor that relieves academic stress was vacation. The p value for the analysis of the relationship between stress levels and risk factors was >0.05 (not significant). It was concluded that the risk factor for emotional stress for medical students class of 2020 at Andalas University during the COVID-19 pandemic was the academic atmosphere.Keywords: medical students; first year; risk factors; stress ABSTRAK Stres emosional adalah reaksi psikologis akibat stressor yang dapat merugikan, baik stimulus fisik, mental, ataupun emosional yang cenderung mengganggu fungsi organisme yang dapat mengaktifkan reaksi  flight or fight oleh organisme tersebut. Situasi pandemi COVID-19 merupakan  stressor baru bagi mahasiswa kedokteran tahun pertama karena langsung menghadapi masa transisi pembelajaran menjadi daring sehingga mereka harus beradaptasi dengan sistem pembelajaran baru. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui faktor risiko pencetus timbulnya gangguan emosi mahasiswa kedokteran Universitas Andalas tahun pertama angkatan 2020 di masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini menerapkan desain cross-sectional. Subjek penelitian ini ialah mahasiswa kedokteran tahun pertama Universitas Andalas. Instrumen pengukuran yang digunakan adalah DASS-42 dan Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale for Youth. Total mahasiswa kedokteran yang mengalami stres dari total sampel 225 adalah sebanyak 74 orang (32,9%). Faktor risiko stres mahasiswa pada penelitian ini ialah proses pembelajaran (69 orang). Faktor yang memperberat stres akademik tersebut ialah kematian anggota keluarga/anggota keluarga lain/pasangan/teman dekat. Faktor yang meringankan stres akademik ialah liburan. Nilai p unuk analisis hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan faktor risikonya adalah >0,05 (tidak signifikan). Disimpulkan bahwa faktor risiko stres emosional mahasiswa kedokteran angkatan 2020 Universitas Andalas di masa pandemi COVID-19 ialah faktor suasana akademik.                         Kata kunci: mahasiswa kedokteran; tahun pertama; faktor risiko; stres

Abstract

Background: Postpartum is a critical period in a woman's life where several problems can occur. One of them is related to the postpartum sexual function index, which can have a negative impact resulting in sexual dysfunction for women. Sexual function is multifactorial, meaning biological, psychological, and social factors can affect a woman's sexual performance. Postpartum low sexual function index has been associated with several risk factors, namely type of delivery, parity, breastfeeding, postpartum depression, family income, and length of the marriage. This study analyzed the risk factors affecting the postpartum sexual function index. Methods: The Analytical survey method with a Cross-sectional study design was used in this study. The research sample consisted of 134 postpartum women at the Andalas Community Health Center in Padang selected by Proportional random sampling. Statistical analysis Chi-square test determines the relationship between the two research variables. Results: Postpartum depression is reported that there was a significant relationship with the postpartum sexual function index. Women with depressive symptoms had a risk of 4.144 times having a low sexual function index after delivery (p=0.002; OR=4.144; CI 95%=1.736-9.889). Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between the type of delivery (p=0.731), parity (p=0.549), breastfeeding (p=0.847), family income (p=0.688), and length of the marriage (p=0.864) with the postpartum sexual function index. Conclusion: According to the study's findings, postpartum depression is a risk factor that may impact the postpartum sexual function index. Through this study, it is expected to increase the insight and information about sexual health for the family sector in the work area of Andalas Community Health Center and to educate the wider community. This study is also expected to be an input in providing health services by carrying out early detection and prevention of sexual health problems.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Depresi postpartum merupakan gangguan emosional yang diakibatkan oleh mekanisme koping yang tidak memadai selama periode postpartum. Jika tidak ditangani, depresi dapat meningkatkan risiko suicide maupun infanticide. Kejadian depresi postpartum sering kali dikaitkan dengan rendahnya dukungan dari suami dan adanya Kekerasan Dalam Rumah Tangga (KDRT), yang keduanya dapat memperburuk kondisi psikologis ibu. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis terjadinya depresi postpartum dan hubungannya dengan dukungan suami dan KDRT. Metode: Desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional yang dilakukan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Andalas Kota Padang dari Juni 2023 hingga Mei 2024. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 152 ibu dengan bayi antara 4 minggu dan 6 bulan. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur, dan analisis statistik dilakukan menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kejadian depresi postpartum di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Andalas Kota Padang sebesar 24,3%. Selain itu, ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara depresi postpartum dengan dukungan suami (nilai p 0,000) dan juga ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara depresi postpartum dengan kekerasan dalam rumah tangga (nilai p 0,000). Kesimpulan: Temuan ini menggarisbawahi hubungan yang signifikan antara depresi postpartum dan faktor-faktor seperti dukungan suami dan KDRT. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya hubungan suami istri yang suportif dan pencegahan kekerasan dalam rumah tangga dalam mengurangi kejadian depresi postpartum

Abstract

Depression in adolescents is a significant mental health problem. One factor that can influence the incidence of depression in adolescents is family emotional support. This study aims to examine the effect of family emotional support on depression in adolescents. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of family emotional support on the incidence of depression in adolescents and to evaluate the level of emotional support provided by families to adolescents. This study used a cross-sectional design with questionnaires distributed to 202 adolescents aged 15-21 years. Data were analyzed descriptively and with statistical regression tests to assess the relationship between family emotional support and the incidence of depression. As many as 78.7% of adolescents felt comfortable with family emotional support, but 32.18% reported that their families often did not ask about their condition. Overall emotional support reached 67.3%. The study also found that female adolescents were more susceptible to depression although age, gender, and education factors did not show a significant relationship. Family emotional support plays an important role in reducing the impact of depression in adolescents. Although overall emotional support is good, many adolescents feel they are not getting enough attention from their families. Family emotional support has an effect on preventing depression in adolescents. Families need to pay more attention to the emotional needs of adolescents and improve counseling services to help parents understand their children's emotional conditions.

Abstract

Background: Postpartum mothers are susceptible to clinical symptoms of depression. Maternity blues is one of the most common postpartum depressions. Objectives: This research aims to identify the correlation between coping strategies and maternity blues in Bukittinggi City. Methods: This Cross-sectional Study was conducted in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, Indonesia, involving 126 postpartum mothers recruited consecutively. Data analysis in this study used the Spearman's Rank correlation test. Results: The results of the study showed that problem-focused coping strategies had a positive correlation with maternity blues (p-value: 0.025; r = 1,000). Emotion-focused coping strategies had a negative correlation with maternity blues (p-value: 0.015; r = -0.216). While the type of Avoidance focused coping strategy has a positive correlation with maternity blues (P Value: 0.000; r = 0.446). Conclusion: Problem-focused and emotional coping strategies have a positive correlation with maternity blues. Avoidance-focused coping strategies have a negative correlation with maternity blues. Abstract

Latar belakang: troke merupakan penyakit neurologis yang menyerang otak secara langsung. Stroke menjadi penyebab kematian dan kecacatan nomor dua di dunia. Kecacatan dapat terjadi tidak hanya pada fungsi motorik dan sensorik, tetapi juga dapat terjadi gangguan pada fungsi kognitif yang terjadi akibat adanya perkembangan Cerebral Small Vessel Disease. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran fungsi kognitif pada pasien pasca stroke di poliklinik neurologi RS Otak Dr. Drs. M. Hatta Bukittinggi berdasarkan karakteristik, fungsi kognitif, dan distribusi frekuensi gangguan fungsi kognitif pada pasien pasca stroke iskemik dan stroke hemoragik. Objektif: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukan di RS Otak Dr. Drs. M. Hatta Bukittinggi pada tahun 2022. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling dengan total berjumlah 65 subjek. Sampel penelitian ini adalah pasien pasca stroke di Poliklinik Neurologi RS Otak Dr. Drs. M. Hatta, Bukittinggi. Sampel diambil dengan data primer menggunakan MMSE dan data sekunder dari rekam medis pasien. Hasil: Penelitian ini menunjukan dari 65 sampel didapatkan 53 pasien iskemik dan 12 pasien hemoragik dengan fungsi kognitif normal pasien iskemik 37,7% dan iskemik 33,3%, gangguan kognitif ringan pasien iskemik 37,7% dan pasien hemoragik 33,3%, dan gangguan kognitif berat pasien iskemik 24,5% dan hemoragik 33,3%. Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini mendapati hasil kejadian stroke iskemik lebih banyak daripada stroke hemoragik. Hasil karakteristik pasien pasca stroke ditemukan variatif karena perbedaan tingkat keparahan dan faktor risiko. Ditemukan frekuensi tingkat gangguan fungsi kognitif terbanyak pada pasien tanpa gangguan kognitif dan ringan. Kata kunci: fungsi kognitif, stroke, iskemik, hemoragik, MMSE

Abstract

Emotional and behavioral disorders in adolescents are mental health conditions that significantly affect adolescents' feelings, thoughts, and behavior. These disorders can interfere with school, family life, friendships, and overall development. The purpose of this activity is to provide training on the use of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) to guidance and counseling teachers for the early detection of emotional and behavioral disorders in adolescents. The activity method is to provide training on the use of the SDQ questionnaire to guidance and counseling teachers in high schools throughout Padang City. The results after the training was given to 35 guidance and counseling teachers showed an increase in the average knowledge score before and after. The results of the facilitator's evaluation of the participants' skills were generally very good, while the participants' evaluation of the training was generally very satisfactory. It is hoped that this training will facilitate guidance and counseling teachers in the early detection of emotional and behavioral disorders
