Abstract

The aim of this study are (1) Developing an interactive multimedia with virtual laboratory in excretory system for senior high school students (2) determine the eligibility of digital multimedia of excretory system (3) determine the effectivity of digital learning using interactive multimedia to improve student’s achievement and student activities of excretory system. This research was conducted in senior high school in Indonesia at SMA 1 Jepon, Blora for 2 month. The research approach using Educational Research and development including: (1)research and information collecting (2)planning (3) develop a preliminary form of product (4) preliminary field testing, validation of media by experts. (5) main product revision, (6)field testing (7)operational product revision (8) operational field testing, (9) the final product revision. The results showed that digital media of excretory system with virtual lab is outstanding criteria (91.17%) based on 2 expert validation result. Then on prelimenary field testing, the students give outstanding criteria (84.38%), and operation field testing is 92.19%. Digital learning using interactive multimedia also improve student activities, students who achieve the active criteria is 90,63%. Based on the results of research and discussion, can be concluded that digital multimedia of excretory system is very eligible, get possitive response from students and teacher, and effective to improve student achievement and student activity as excretory system media in senior high school.

Abstract

The instrument of measuring test attributes must be valid and reliable. This study was carried out since the validity and reliability testing of the chemistry items used by the testee is necessary. This study aims to estimate the validity and determine the reliability of chemical test instruments oriented Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The research was conducted through a quantitative descriptive approach in two vocational schools of engineering program which had 130 testees. The instrument used was an NGSS-oriented chemistry test instrument containing 35 items and an expert validation questionnaire. The obtained test participant's response from the test instrument was collected through the documentation method. Item in NGSS test were presented to three subject matters experts. The validities used were the content validity and the construct validity. The reliability was tested through internal consistency and interrater consistency approaches. The results show that content validity (Aiken’s V) is at a range of 0.50 to 1.00. The value of the unexplained variance is less than 10%, which means that it is well-categorized. This analysis is strengthened by CFA which has a goodness of fit and a good measurement model fit. The parameters used to test model fit are CFI, NFI, RMSEA and the value of loading factor. Some results values are over 0.90 and RMSEA is 0.00 and more than 0.3 of loading factor value on each item. All scales had alpha reliability more than the criteria of 0.70. Thus, the developed chemical test item were proven as valid and reliable instruments.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze the achievement of critical thinking skills, (2) analyze the achievement of cognitive learning outcomes, (3) determine the learning activities carried out, and (4) determine student responses to the use of interactive flipbook media. This study is Quasi Experiment research with a posttest-only control design employing a purposive sampling technique. The data in this study are (1) data on the achievement of critical thinking ability indicators, (2) data on achievement of cognitive levels (C4, C5, and C6), (3) data on student learning activities carried out, and (4) data on student responses to use of interactive flipbook media. The instruments used are (1) critical thinking tests in the form of description questions, (2) cognitive learning outcomes tests in the form of multiple-choice questions, (3) student activity observation sheets, and (4) student response questionnaires. The results obtained in learning the human excretory system using interactive flipbooks are: (1) the level of achievement of critical thinking skills on each indicator can be achieved well, (2)the level achievement of cognitive learning outcomes (C4, C5, and C6) in each category can be achieved well, (3) learning activities that appear and implement in the learning process include visual activities, oral activities, and listening activities, and (4) the use of interactive flipbook media gets a positive response from students. Most respondents agree to use interactive flipbook media to learn the human excretory system. Students also assess that interactive flipbook media are interesting, flexible, practical, meaningful, and not dull.
