Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the structure and function of folklore Gadih Basanai in the Surantih society. Furthermore, the problem in this research is focusing to the structure and function of folklore Gadih Basanai in the Surantih society. This research is kind of qualitatife by using descriptive method. Then, the objects of folklore Gadih Basanai in the Surantih society. The data of the research is collected by using interview technique and observator. Base on the discover the results are: first, characterized, incident, channel, beckgraund, the point of view, thema, and moral value. Second, if found that the function of the story as a tool to educate children, it can be an entertainment or a tool to force obey public rule. Third, in the folklore Gadih Basanai there can be found many fuction of the story that many educate children, keep the promise, obey their parents.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the form directive speech acts, politeness principles, and the context of the speech of children to parents in a Mandailing language. Data of this research is direct speech conversation between a child and his parents. The source of data in this research is children and their parents is a native of the area. Data collected using recording techniques and the observation sheet (observation) and written technique as advanced techniques, then transcribed and analyzed. The findings of the research include three aspects, namely (1) the form of directive speech acts used by children to their parents in a Mandailing language is telling, suggesting, to instruct, challenge, and pleading, (2) the principles of linguistic politeness that are used by children to their parents in a Mandailing language is a maxim of generosity, the agreement, wisdom, and praise, and (3) context of the speech acts in the use of maxims by children to their parents in a Mandailing language maxim generosity is likely to be used for the purpose of telling. Topic of speech act usually talk every day, going home in a quiet atmosphere. Maxim agreements tend to be used for the purpose of suggesting and asking. Topic of speech act generally every day speech, occurred at home, in a quiet courtyard. Maxim wisdom and praise tends to be used for the purpose suggested. Topic of speech act usually talk every day, going home in a quiet atmosphere.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the shape, function and strategies used in the book tells of humor Cikeas Octopus Dismantling works Wong Gendeng Jaim. The data of this study is ilokusi speech acts. Sources of data in this study is the book of humor Cikeas Octopus Dismantling works Wong Gendeng Jaim. Data were collected by using a technique that helped with my recording format. The findings of the study are (1) a form of speech act ilokusi found as many as 71 utterances, which consist of expressive speech acts and commissive directive representative, (2) the function of speech acts speech ilokusi found as many as 68, which consists of competitive functionality, pleasure cooperating and conflicting functions and (3) by 67 utterances strategy, which consists of BTTB, BTDBKP, BTDBKN and BSS.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is (1) to describe the form of idioms in English cottage Central District V Koto Muko-Muko district of North Bengkulu, (2) describe the meaning of idioms in English cottage Central District V Koto Muko-Muko district of North Bengkulu, (3) describe the function of idiom in the language of the Middle District V Koto cottage Muko-Muko district of North Bengkulu. This research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. The findings of the study are (1) the idioms used by the Central Cottage Village Community in the form of two words and three words, (2) the meaning of idioms in the group by stating the nature, naming, and daily activities, (3) function idiom to quip, praise, express anger, expressed his joy/love and, expressed his sadness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze: (1) the types of sentences that diujarkan by children aged four years and three months, and (2) sentence patterns children aged four years and three months. The theory used is the theory of (1) language acquisition, (2) the child, (3) acquisition of sentence and (4) the sentence pattern. This research is descriptive qualitative research method. This study used data types are derived from verbal utterances children aged four years and three months. Data obtained by using techniques of observation, recording, and interviews. Data obtained through the tape, and then classified by type of sentence, sentence patterns, and forms of utterance based on the purpose of the study, and then formulated into a conclusion.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to (1) describe type to act directive speeches, converse strategy, increase suavity in acts housewife directive speech fisherman to its child at Gates sub-district Nan XX Lubuk Bagaluang district Padang City,  (2) describe child response to act mother directive speeches it. Data in observational it is act housewife directive speech fisherman and its child response at Gates sub-district Nan XX Lubuk Bagaluang district Padang City. Data source in observational it is mother discourse and family child response fisherman at Gates sub-district Nan XX Lubuk Bagaluang district Padang City. Gathered data by use of method learns and recording and tech tech note as tech of sequel. Observational finding as follows. First, type acts tending directive speech is utilized is act directive speech see dammed hell first. Both of, tending converse strategy is utilized is frank converse strategy without platitude. Third, act mothers directive speech fisherman family to its child tend decent. Fourth, child response to act mother directive speech it tends positive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analysis the structure, function and context Pasambahan Basigorak in a wedding party in Padang Tangah Payobada, East part Of Payakumbuh district. The data is Pasambahan Basigorak in Padang Tangah. The source of this research is spoken source as the primary source that told by its original speaker. The data is collected using the recording, interview, and writing technique as exetended technique. The founding of the research consist of three founding, is (1) Pasambahan Basigorak’s stucture  consist of opening, body, and closing, (2) the function of Pasambahan Basigorak consist of social function, educational function, moral function, custom function, and language function, the last (3) the contexts are situation and culture contexts.

Abstract

The type of this research is qualitative research using descriptive analysis methods. This research data is a text in from of the words, phrases, clauses, sentences and discourse which represents conflicts of wong cilik, in the form of personal and between classes conflict in both novels. It is also looking for differences and similarities of the conflicts, and explaining the novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya as hypogram of novel Pengakuan Pariyem by Linus Suryadi AG. The results of the study are First, the conflict of wong cilik in novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam there are nine conflicts of wong cilik, devided into six personal conflicts and three conflicts between social classes. Second, conflict of wong cilik in novel Pengakuan Pariyem there are seven conflicts of wong cilik devided into six personal conflicts and one conflict between social classes. Third, the difference of wong cilik’s conflict ini novel Pengakuan Pariyem: (a) the number of conflicts, (b) wong cilik’s conflict in novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam comes from external factors, and (c) wong cilik’s conflict in novel Pengakuan Pariyem comes from internal factors; the similarities of wong cilik’s conflict in novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya and Pengakuan Pariyem is found on those novel’s conflict, novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya is a hypogram from novel Pengakuan Pariyem by Linus Suryadi AG. Keywords: representative, conflict, wong cilik, intertextual.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe (1) the realization of the principle of politeness by the Indonesian Lawyers Club host on TVONE to act questioning and (2) the context of the use of the principle of politeness in the act of said speech. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. This research data is in the form of a questioning question done by the host of Indonesia Lawyers Club which aired during March 2016. The data source of this research is a video of ILC event on 01, 08, 15, 22 and 29 March 2016 which has been downloaded in social media youtube. The data analysis process is done with 3 steps. (1) identify data in the form of questioning, (2) classify data that realize the maxims of courtesy principles, and (3) describe the context of the use of principles of politeness in acts of speech asked. Based on the results of data analysis obtained two research findings. First, the principle of politeness realized by the ILC host during March 2016, found the use of 4 maxims, ie (a) 38 data maximization of wisdom, (b) 11 data maxim of praise, (c) 8 data maxim of humility, and (d) 33 data maximization of inference. Second, the context of the use of the principle of politeness in speech acts asks (a) higher and less familiar speakers tend to be used maxim of wisdom, (b) higher and higher speakers tend to be used maxim of wisdom, (c) speakers of equal position and unfamiliar is used maximally, and (d) lower-level speakers and not yet familiar tend to be used maxim of inference. Thus, it can be concluded that the realization of the principle of civility most often realized by ILC hosts is the maxim of wisdom that tends to be used in the context of lower-level speakers and not yet familiar.Keywords: Politeness Principle, Talkshow, Indonesia Lawyers Club

Abstract

This article aims to: (1) describe the pattern of a nickname based on the form used lingual Minangkabau ethnic communities shoreline South Coastal .; (2) describe the category nickname used by its reference Minangkabau ethnic communities shoreline South Coast; (3) describe the category nickname based on the sense used Minangkabau ethnic communities shoreline South Shore. Study the theory used in this research, among others; (1) The study of semantics; (2) Naming; (3) a nickname; (4) The connotative meanings; (5) understanding of proper names; (6) the Minangkabau language. This study found 152 nickname used by Minangkabau ethnic communities in the South Coast shoreline Pasisia. It can be concluded that in terms of form, found in two units lingual nickname: (1) the form of words and (2) are phrases, terms of reference unit forms lingual was formed on 9 reference / references a nickname in the form of (1) the physical condition , (2) behavior, (3) where / origin, (4) the name of the parents, (5) work, (6) status, (7) similarity, (8) mental condition, and (9) events, based on the value of taste found three grades flavors, namely (1) the value of the negative sense, (2) the value of a positive sense, and (3) value neutral flavor.Keywords: Naming, Minangkabau, tradition
