Abstract

This paper is development research that aims to determine the process, feasibility, and students’ response to game-based learning models as an effort to increase learning motivation in entrepreneurship learning subjects for class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 Bangko. The instruments used in the research were validation sheets and questionnaires, and the data that had been collected were analyzed. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis obtained from data collection of material expert validation and model experts sheets, while data collected from questionnaires were used to analyze as an effort to increase students’ learning motivation. The results of the research in the first stage were validated by material experts at 3.00 with a good category of content aspects and at 3.66 with a very good category of several revisions and not feasible testing presentation. In the second stage of material expert validation, the content aspect was 3.5 with a very good category and presenting several suggestions and feasible testing aspects was 3.83 with a very good category. In the first stage of validation by model experts, there were 2.8 with a good category of several revisions and not feasible testing, In stage II, the validation average by model experts was 3.3 with a very good category and feasible testing. Based on the results of the game-based learning model development, the result indicates that it was feasible to be tested in order to find out how students respond to game-based learning models as an effort to increase student learning motivation, which involved 32 students of class XI at SMK Negeri 1 Bangko as research subjects. An assessment score of 2.54 indicates that aspects of students' learning motivation before applying the game-based learning model are in a high category. The assessment score of 3.02 indicates that the aspect of students’ learning motivation after applying the game-based learning model is in the very high category.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop android-based learning media to help economics lessons, especially in national income materials for Class XI students of the Department of Social Sciences at the senior high school level. The research method used was research and development (RD), with the ADDIE model. The media was then implemented in class XI students, with a total of 20 students. The research sample was selected purposively with consideration of the material in the media and the ease of research. Media demands, student profiles, and the learning environment were observed and interviewed for study. The media was planned and developed using Articulate Storyline 3, validated by 3 media and 2 material specialists (Expert Judgement), and analysed qualitatively. Student and instructor responses to questions on media practicality and usefulness were quantified. The entire ADDIE circuit was evaluated at each stage. The results of the analize stage prove that students and teachers need support media for material related to economic statistics. The design and development of media was carried out by researchers by providing several advantages including simple and interesting, interactive media that can be used in offline and online modes. Its excellence gained the recognition of eligibility from validators. Student response at the limited trial and implementation stage showed the media had a practicality level which is high and very useful. In fact, economics teachers at both schools gave a perfect assessment (maximum score) for all indicators of the teacher response questionnaire statement. It can be concluded that the media was needed by students and teachers based on economic statistics. The media was designed and developed with advantages based on needs analysis. The media was valid and should be implemented.

Abstract

This paper discusses the improvement of students' critical thinking skills through the use of the problem-based learning (PBL) model. The research was conducted at class XI IPS 2 of SMA Negeri 2 Karimun. The approach used is quasi-experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques used observation sheets and questionnaires. Data on the suitability of the learning process with the model are obtained through observation sheets based on PBL syntax and the level of students' critical thinking skills is obtained through questionnaires of students' critical thinking skills. Data analysis techniques used t-tests. The results indicate that the use of the PBL model can improve students' critical thinking skills. It is evidenced from after implementing the PBL model, the students' critical thinking skills increased from the medium category to the high category with a percentage of 53%. Hence, it is expected for teachers to increase the students' critical thinking skills. Thus, it can be applied through the appropriate learning models, one of which is the problem-based learning model.

Abstract

This study is based in the context of online learning, which has led to students experiencing delays in assignment completion and reduced cooperation in discussion groups.   The objective of this study is to ascertain student perspectives on the utilisation of Google Classroom and to assess the impact of its use on the learning motivation of students majoring in Economics Education.   The sampling technique employed was random sampling, specifically with a sample size of 53 respondents.   This study employs quantitative descriptive methodologies, utilising data analysis techniques such as normality tests, linearity tests, f tests, and simple linear regression tests.   The research findings indicate a statistically significant value of 147,272 4.03, demonstrating a strong correlation between the utilisation of Google Classroom and student motivation for learning.   The coefficient of determination is 0.743, indicating a strong positive link. This suggests that there is a major influence.

Abstract

Data analysis techniques are one of the critical stages that young researchers must carry out when conducting research. Apart from that, young researchers also need to understand knowledge related to statistical methods to make carrying out their research easier. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of young researchers (especially students) related to Structural Equation Modeling using the PLS and the Simultaneous Equation Model. Apart from that, this activity also aims to increase the experience of young researchers by directly instilling the use of the SmartPLS program. This Community Service Activity was conducted as a seminar on June 13, 2024, from 08.00 to 12.00 WIB (09.00 to 13.00 MST) online via Zoom Cloud's Meeting. Universiti Malaysia Sabah is a partner in this activity. Seventy-six participants, including lecturers, students, and researchers from state and private universities in Indonesia and Malaysia, participated in this activity. Abstract

Banyak guru memanfaatkan media sebagai alat yang memudahkan penyampaian materi; padahal di sisi lain media pembelajaran dapat berperan sebagai alat monitoring dan evaluasi untuk mengetahui kadar penyerapan siswa. Keadaan tersebut mendasari kegiatan ini yakni menggagas media pembelajaran yang terinspirasi dari program kuis di televisi menjadi media berbasis game quiz Who Wants to be a success. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan wawasan guru UPT SMPN 5 Tambang selaku peserta tentang media pembelajaran; dan keterampilan dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam mengukur daya serap siswanya. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam 2 tahap yaitu: (a) tahap penjelasan materi dan aplikasi game quiz, dan (b) tahap pelatihan/praktik beberapa soal quiz game. Dari hasil demonstrasi dan praktik game quiz ini diketahui adanya semangat yang tinggi dari para peserta guru. Dari keseluruhan kegiatan ini diketahui sebanyak 78% terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan motivasi. Dengan pendampingan tim pengabdian, peserta telah mampu  mengoperasikan game quiz: who want to be a success; setidaknya kegiatan pengabdian ini telah menggugah guru untuk melakukan variasi dalam pembelajaran yang bersentuhan dengan teknologi. Refleksi yang diungkapkan peserta diketahui bahwa perlu kegiatan pendampingan lebih lanjut agar guru dapat menguasai game quiz ini secara menyeluruh, mulai dari pembuatan soal multiple choice, penempatan soal, dan pengoperasian aplikasi game quiz.

Abstract

This research aims to map the development of quality management research indexed in Google Scholar and analyze topics related to this topic. By adopting a qualitative descriptive method, it was carried on through three stages: (1) indexed journal with the help of Google Scholar PoP (Publish or Perish) software; (2) journals were saved as an RIS (Research Information System) file; and (3) bibliometric analysis was performed using VOS viewer. This search focused on articles discussing quality management topics in the period 2010–2023, with a limit on the number of documents of 900. The research results showed that the amount of research on quality management had fluctuated. The most publications occurred in the specified year range, namely 83 articles. The topics most discussed were quality management systems, performance, top management, education, total quality management, relations, and improvement, while those that were still very few were distance education, skills, conflict management, competence, social development, information management, and career adaptability. Therefore, these topics were likely to be of concern to the latest research on quality management in the future because there was still very little research on them.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the critical thinking abilities of Class X IPS and XI IPS students in solving story problems in the Economics subject.  The research method used is a qualitative research method.  The subjects in this study were students of class X IPS S, totaling 13 students and XI IPS, totaling 27 students.  The type of data collected is in the form of qualitative data, namely the results of tests of students' critical thinking skills and the results of interviews.  Data was analyzed based on indicators.  The results of data analysis show that not all students have the critical thinking category, only students in the high category are able to solve critical thinking questions.  Meanwhile, students in the medium and low categories do not yet have actual critical thinking skills in terms of making further explanations and providing conclusions.  Keywords: Analysis, Critical Thinking Ability.

Abstract

Students with difficulty in comprehending conceptual materialsneed media that has powers in organizational, procedural visual, andsupporting creative thinking; all are integrated in a mind-mapping media.This research is aimed to develop a learning design of Introduction toManagement based on mind-mapping media concerning with conceptualmaterials. This is an early phase of research and development activities, inIntroduction to Management class. Data of needs analysis is obtainedthrough survey technique on 38 college students, then followed by literaturestudy and focus group discussions. The result shows that a learning designof Introduction to Management, that highlights conceptual materials, hasconstructed on the basis of mind-mapping media. Abstract

Not all students have the ability to speak or to express opinions in public well, and not all students are able to engage in the learning process with a student centered approach. Therefore, the learning model with a student centered approach should still be juxtaposed with the considered percentage of lecture method (teacher cantered approach). This research aims to produce an Articulation learning model development oriented towards student activities. The data analysis was referring to the ISMAN model which consists of the stages: input, process, output, feedback, and learning. Based on the validity test to the validator, the Articulation development model is declared suitable for the Economics learning process. The students responses to the utilization of the Articulation development model obtained an average percentage of 88.62% in the category of very effective.
