Abstract

The aircraft used in this study is the upper wing type which has the advantage of flight stability. This upper wing aircraft was designed by the researchers themselves with three different types of wings with a wing span of 1.35m and a fuse lag of 0.925 meters. There are four main forces that work when the plane is in the air, namely lift, thrust, air resistance and gravity. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the heavier the aircraft unit being flown, the greater the minimum thrust required to fly the aircraft. The measurement results of the 3 aircraft weights, namely 917 grams, require a thrust of 2030 grams of force, whereas for a total aircraft weight of 1,230 grams a thrust of 2510 grams is required, and at an aircraft weight of 1495 grams a minimum thrust of 3040 grams is required. The results also show that the thrust generated is not linear with the throttle position

Abstract

Refraction of light occurs due to the difference in the speed of light in the two mediums where the speed of light in a dense medium is smaller than the speed of light in a less dense medium. One of the refraction phenomena also occurs in prism glass. Prisms help scatter incoming light from monochromatic light sources. To prove this, refraction experiments can be carried out using a prism. Where the prism used is made manually using used glass made of acrylic. The prism that is made is then filled with water on the inside and a test is carried out to determine the refraction and the value of the angle of deviation. Based on the results obtained, the refraction of the prism glass made in where a beam of light that passes through the prism is deflected from its original direction, while the angle of deviation of the rays is proportional to the angle of incidence

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of problem-based learning model assisted by PhET simulations on problem solving ability and mastery of physics concepts of students. This type of research is Quasi Experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study were all students of class XI IPA SMAN 4 Mataram with sampling technique using purposive sampling technique, because there were four classes XI IPA, so it was determined that class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class and class XI IPA 2 as the control class. Based on the results of the study, the average value of physics problem solving ability of students in the experimental class was 45.09, while the average value of problem-solving ability of the control class was 39.61, while the average value of concept mastery of the experimental class was 70 and the control class was 51.15. Data on problem solving ability and concept mastery of both classes are normally distributed and both are homogeneous. Data on problem solving ability and concept mastery were analyzed using the polled variance t-test at a significant level of 5% and obtained  of problem solving ability of 2.24, while concept mastery obtained  of 6.18 and obtained  of 2.00, with hypothesis testing criteria if  is greater than  then  is rejected and  is accepted. Based on the results of this study, it shows that there is an effect of problem-based learning model assisted by PhET simulations on problem solving ability and mastery of physics concepts of students.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce a product in the form of a Student Workshees (known LKPD) based on a problem-based learning model that is feasible, practical and effective for improving students' mastery of concepts. This research is included in Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model, which consists of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The product developed is Newton's Law LKPD supported by other independent curriculum tools: Learning Outcomes, Learning Goal Flow, Teaching Modules, and concept mastery test instruments. Data collection techniques use validation sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and test instruments. The validity of the product was assessed by three expert validators, who were physics lecturers, and three practitioner validators, who were physics subject teachers. Their evaluations were performed using a Likert scale. Practicality is obtained from the teacher's observation sheet and student response questionnaires regarding learning. Effectiveness was obtained from the results of limited product trials in the form of an increase in pretest and posttest scores, which were analyzed using the n-gain test. The results of the validity of the product developed have a percentage, namely LKPD 92.12%; Learning Achievement 92.08%; Flow of Learning Objectives 92.60%; Teaching modules 89.78% and test instruments 91.15% with very valid and reliable categories above 75%, so the product can be said to be suitable for use. The results of the product's practicality were in the form of an implementation sheet by the teacher. Student responses of 92.08% and 82.10% were written in the convenient category. The results of the n-gain test for students' concept mastery were 0.74 in the medium category and included in the very effective criteria. Thus, the LKPD, Learning Outcomes, Learning Goal Flow, Teaching Modules and test instruments produced are feasible, practical and effective in improving students' mastery of concepts.
