Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Family communication is essential for family life. This study aimed to determine the influence of family characteristics, coping strategies, and homemaker stress levels on family communication. The respondents in this study were housewives with children of a minimum age of junior high school. A total of 100 respondents were obtained using volunteer sampling techniques, of which 50 people were domiciled in villages and 50 in cities in the Bogor area. The results indicate that the education of husbands and wives and family income in villages are lower than those in cities. However, the number of children living in cities was more significant than that living in villages. In addition, the number of mothers in villages categorized as high was more significant than in cities. Likewise, regarding stress levels, the average stress level of mothers in villages was lower than that of mothers in cities. The average communication of mothers in villages and cities was higher for conversation-oriented communication than conformity. The results of the regression test showed that stress levels and coping strategies had a significant positive effect on family communication during conversations. In addition, coping strategies significantly positively affected communication orientation conformity. This implies that stress and coping strategies influence family communication. Thus, family conformity orientation communication must continue to improve to reduce maternal stress levels.

Abstract

The rise of e-commerce in Indonesia has significantly altered consumer behavior, particularly in post-purchase experiences. Despite increased convenience, online transactions often result in dissatisfaction due to service failures or product mismatches, prompting varying complaint behaviors. This study investigates the impact of Perceived Product Quality, Perceived Value, and Personality on dissatisfaction levels in e-commerce, and explores how complaint type (Voicer, Irate, Passive) moderates these relationships. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 218 e-commerce consumers who had made purchases and submitted complaints, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) and Multi-Group Analysis (MGA). Findings show that Perceived Value emerged as the most significant and consistent predictor of dissatisfaction across all complaint types, while Perceived Product Quality and Personality showed no significant direct effect; however, Irates exhibited higher sensitivity to product quality failures. Complaint type moderated the strength of relationships, highlighting behavioral differences in consumer responses. In conclusion, consumer dissatisfaction in e-commerce is driven primarily by perceived value rather than product quality, and complaint behavior types influence how dissatisfaction is expressed but not necessarily how it is formed. The research implies that e-commerce businesses should enhance post-purchase services such as delivery, customer support, and refund systems, while tailoring complaint resolution strategies based on consumer types to reduce dissatisfaction and improve retention.

Abstract

Adolescence is a phase in which a person experiences significant change and maturity in their sexuality. Adolescents seek various sources of knowledge through media access and peers and try to follow their peers' attitudes, values, and behaviour. Religious beliefs and parental interactions are other contributing elements. This research aims to determine the influence of religiosity, sexuality education, references from social media, and peer attachment on sexuality. This research was conducted in Tangerang Regency and involved 180 respondents, consisting of high school, vocational, and madrasah aliyah students in grades 10 and 11, with the criteria of being Muslim, living with both parents and actively using social media. The sampling technique used a stratified non-proportional random sampling method, which was carried out using an interview method using a questionnaire. Adolescents in this study had high religiosity. Sexuality education carried out by fathers is categorized as low, while sexuality education carried out by mothers is categorized as moderate. Adolescents' social media references and peer attachment are categorized as moderate. The results of the Structural Equation Modeling analysis found that religiosity, sexuality education, references from social media, and peer attachment had a significant positive effect on sexuality. These findings imply the importance of interventions that target good and correct values related to sexuality, both in the smallest domain, namely the family, through instilling religious values, sexuality education, and parental control over references in media consumed by adolescents and their peers, as well as more broadly, namely government policy.

Abstract

Abstract. Raising children with autism presents ongoing emotional and psychological challenges. The aim of this research is to explore how social support and religiosity influence the well-being of parents raising children with autism. Following the PRISMA framework, this review analyzed 45 studies through a systematic literature review approach. The studies were selected using the PECO framework and assessed for quality with the Q-SSP and ROBINS-E tools. The participants in the reviewed studies consisted of parents or caregivers, with varying demographics, including age, gender, cultural background, and levels of religiosity. Various data collection techniques were employed, including qualitative interviews, quantitative surveys, and mixed-method approaches; analysis methods included thematic interpretation and statistical modeling. Findings show that social support reduces stress and improves coping abilities, particularly when parents receive consistent support from partners and communities. Religiosity contributes as a psychological and emotional coping resource by offering meaning, comfort, and resilience, though in certain contexts it may also lead to feelings of guilt or stigma. The influence of both factors varies across cultural and social settings. The results highlight the distinct but complementary roles of social support and religiosity in strengthening parental well-being. Integrating these elements into culturally sensitive intervention models may enhance support systems for parents. Future research should aim to examine integrative approaches that connect social and spiritual support strategies. Keywords: autism spectrum disorder; parental well-being; religiosity; social support; systematic review.

Abstract

This study employed a cross-sectional design and was conducted quantitatively, aiming to analyze the influence of religiosity and economic pressure on the well-being of elderly farm laborer families. The study involved 60 elderly men and 60 elderly women who had worked as farm laborers in the past year, selected through purposive sampling. Based on the results, the average age of elderly male and female farm laborers was 67 years. Elderly male farm laborers had higher educational attainment and a greater number of family members compared to elderly female farm laborers. More than half of the elderly male farm laborers had spouses and worked as permanent laborers, whereas the female farm laborers were mostly widowed and worked as daily laborers. The majority of both elderly male and female farm laborers had per capita incomes below the poverty line. Religiosity levels in both groups were categorized as high. Objective and subjective economic pressures in both groups ranged from low to moderate. The subjective well-being of both groups was categorized as moderate. Religiosity, and subjective economic pressure had both positive and negative significant influences on the subjective well-being of elderly farm laborers.

Abstract

Domestic violence (DV) against wives remains a serious issue in Indonesia. Marital interaction and social support play a crucial role in improving the quality of life of wives who are victims of DV. This study generally aims to examine the effects of marital interaction, domestic violence, and social support on wives’ quality of life by testing hypotheses using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design through an online survey. The study involved 100 wives who were victims of DV, selected using purposive sampling in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area. The instruments used included the Interpersonal Behavior Scale, Domestic Violence Frequency, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and a modified version of the World Health Organization Quality of Life, all of which underwent pilot testing. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s correlation test via SPSS. The effect testing was performed using SMART-PLS, with model fit evaluated through fit measures, yielding a GoF> 0.36, indicating acceptable model adequacy for hypothesis testing. The results showed that marital interaction had a significant negative effect on domestic violence (β = -0.752***; p < 0.001). Domestic violence had a significant negative effect on social support (β = -0.285**; p < 0.01), while social support had a significant positive effect on wives’ quality of life (β = 0.545***; p < 0.001). Interestingly, domestic violence also demonstrated a significant positive effect on wives’ quality of life (β = 0.230*; p < 0.05). In addition, marital interaction significantly and positively affected wives’ quality of life (β = 0.330**; p < 0.01). These findings indicate that all research variables are interrelated and influence wives’ quality of life, thereby supporting all proposed hypotheses. The findings of this study provide practical implications for family counseling and psychosocial interventions in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area. Strengthening social support for wives who are victims of domestic violence is essential. Support from family members and close relatives, which remains limited, needs to be reinforced through family counseling, empathic communication training, and education on women’s rights. This study, however, has several limitations, including the absence of interviews, reliance solely on the victims’ perspectives, and data collection conducted exclusively through online surveys.
