Abstract

This study emphasizes the importance of focusing on the sustainability and alignment of Sharia compliance disclosures in the context of Islamic Financial Institutions. Sustainability reporting is becoming increasingly crucial in the financial sector due to growing awareness of global environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. The initiative encourages Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) to increase transparency and accountability in their sustainability practices. This study tries explicitly to compare the Sustainability Report Analysis between Bank Syariah Indonesia and Maybank Islamic Berhad for 2019-2022. In this way, the study provides a deeper understanding of how these two institutions manage sustainability and disclosure of Sharia compliance. By aligning Sharia compliance with sustainability goals, IFIS can actively create a more responsible and ethical financial sector. This will contribute to broader sustainable development efforts, including sustainable economic growth, environmental protection, and Social Empowerment. This kind of research is essential to ensure that IFIs and other financial institutions understand and adhere to sustainability and Sharia compliance in a balanced manner to balance financial, ethical, and sustainability goals in their services to society.

Abstract

The use of digital payment in Indonesia has increased rapidly. The number of users continues to grow every year, making various zakat institutions, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf start innovating to raise funds using a digital payment system. This excellent innovation seems in contrast with the amount of of zakat funds, infaq, waqf, and alms collected; it is still far below the potential number of funds. Many factors influence the intention to pay of the Muslim community in paying zakat, infaq, endowments, and alms. Some factors that need to be investigated are religiosity and trust factor. The aim of this research is to analysis the religiosity and trust factor towards intention to pay zakat, infaq and endowment. Based on that statement, questionnaires will be given to 200 respondents to determine the effect of these factors on the intention to pay of the Muslim community in paying zakat, infaq, endowments, and alms. Using mix methods between quantitative and qualitative, the data is primary from questioner. The result of this study shows that each religiosity and trust has insignificant and significant related to the intention to pay zakat, infaq, endowments, and alms. However, trust as intervening variable could affect religiosity indirectly, regarding its impact towards intention to pay. Keywords: Digital Payment, Intention to Pay, Religiosity, Trust, ZISWAF

Abstract

This paper aims to estimate the effect of corruption (represented by data of Corruption Perception Index) and human development (represented by data of Human Development Index) on the economic growth (represented by data of Gross Domestic Product) in 44 (forty-four) countries who join the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). this paper uses multiple linear regression with panel data of Corruption Perception Index from transparency.org, Human Development Index from United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Gross Domestic Product from World Bank. The 10 years range of data (2009-2018) finds the Corruption Perception Index does not have a significant effect on the economic growth, but The Human Development Index has a positive significant effect on the economic growth or Gross Domestic Product. It can be seen that the commitment of OIC countries in human development is on the right path, since they are in line with their economic growth rates. When viewed together, the Corruption Perception Index and the Human Development Index have a simultaneous influence on the economic growth. So, this result is important to help the OIC as additional references to their Annual Summit or Conference to focus more on Human Development strategy to enhance the economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to conceptualize the relationship between e-service quality and commitment waqif through e-trust with the moderator variables of communication and religiosity. The conceptual framework was developed from social exchange theory and previous literature on commitment. Nine propositions raised in this study consist of five proposed antecedents of e-service quality, namely environment quality, promotion quality, information quality, system quality, and outcome quality. Then the communication and religiosity factors are proposed no longer as determinants of commitment but as moderators, and e-trust is offered to be a mediator variable between e-service quality and commitment waqif. Many factors can affect commitment waqif, but this study only focuses on the effect of e-service quality. With this conceptual model, it is hoped that the donation platform manager can improve the e-service quality so that donors are loyal to donate through electronic services. In addition, to ease the burden on the government in collecting cash waqf funds and reach the potential that has been set faster. Further researchers can conduct empirical studies by proving all the arguments that have been put forward, also can use other factors that can affect commitment waqif.

Abstract

This study focuses on bibliometric indicators of Islamic accounting research development, such as trends in Islamic accounting research and its distribution, topics and themes in Islamic accounting research, significant contributors to Islamic accounting research, the pattern of collaboration in Islamic accounting research, and the most significant texts in the Islamic accounting literature. Four hundred eighty-three pieces of scientific literature were entered into the Scopus database for bibliometric analysis on January 10, 2022. Various programs were used to analyze frequency, metrics, and citations, including Microsoft Excel, VOS viewer, and Harzing's Publish or Perish. Over the last ten years, Islamic accounting publications have grown significantly and steadily. Islamic accounting literature is based in Asia, Europe, America, and the Middle East, and it can be found in social science, business, management, accounting, economics, and finance. With a few exceptions in Malaysian, Arabic, German, Indonesian, Slovak, and Turkish, the majority of Islamic accounting literature is written in English. The study also discovered that terms like Islamic bank, banking, Islamic performance, Islamic accounting standards, and Islamic finance are commonly used. The seven countries that contributed the most to the development of scholarly collaborations in Islamic accounting were Malaysia, Indonesia, the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and Australia. This is critical in assisting academics in making recommendations for future study in the field of Islamic accounting.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using two types of endorsers, namely celebrities and expert endorsers, on consumer purchase intentions between halal fashion products. The method used in this study is PLS-SEM for model evaluation. This study analyzes the effect of using two types of endorsers, namely celebrities and expert endorsers, on consumers' purchase intentions between halal fashion products. The method used in this study is PLS-SEM for model evaluation. This study gave respondents a full-color print advertisement containing a photo of artist April Jasmine as a celebrity endorser and expert fashion designer Hannie Hananto as an expert endorser. We use celebrity and expert endorsers as independent variables and consumer purchase intention in halal mode as the dependent variable. The result showed that celebrity endorsers positively influence consumer purchase intention in halal fashion products. Meanwhile, expert endorser does not affect consumer purchase intention on halal fashion products. The results of this study reveal that celebrity endorsers positively affect consumers' purchase intentions for halal fashion products. However, marketers must pay attention to the suitability of selecting the type and attributes of the endorser with the product they support. The goal is that the marketing costs incurred by the company in the endorser use strategy are more effective and follow marketing objectives.

Abstract

Purpose – This study analyzes the influence of behavioral intention and use behavior on the use of the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS) among Generation Z investors in Indonesia by extending the UTAUT3 model through the Sharia value variable.Methodology– This study employed structural equation modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 4.1 software. Data were collected from 250 Generation Z investors across Indonesia through a purposive random sampling technique based on specific criteria.Findings – Effort expectancy, price value, and Sharia value had a significant positive impact on behavioral intention. Similarly, habit, performance expectancy, sharia value, and effort expectancy significantly influenced use behavior. In contrast, social influence, facilitating conditions, and hedonic motivation did not significantly affect either intention or use behavior. Notably, there was an unexpected negative relationship between behavioral intention and use behavior, indicating a complex dynamic that requires further investigation.Implications – This study reinforces the UTAUT3 model within the context of sharia digital finance and emphasizes the importance of effort expectancy, price value, and religious compliance in driving adoption. From a practical perspective, SOTS providers should focus on enhancing effort expectancy and integrating Sharia values to attract young Muslim investors.Originality – Sharia values are integrated into the UTAUT3 model to examine Generation Z’s adoption of the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS). This integration addresses a research gap concerning behavioral factors in Sharia fintech within emerging markets.
