Abstract

The quality management of Islamic education plays a strategic role in shaping a generation that excels intellectually, morally, and spiritually. From Manal Hani's perspective, this management approach integrates Islamic values with modern management principles to achieve the ultimate goal: producing insan kamil (perfect individuals). Through a library research method, this study examines three core principles in Manal Hani’s framework: tawhid as the foundation, the integration of science and religion, and continuous improvement (islah wa tajdid). The implementation of this concept includes applying Total Quality Management (TQM) based on Islamic values, enhancing teacher competence, developing a curriculum integrated with Islamic principles, utilizing technology, and conducting moral-based evaluations. The findings indicate that Manal Hani’s approach provides a strong foundation for high-quality Islamic education that remains relevant to contemporary needs while preserving its Islamic identity.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of religious contestation among Muslim preachers in contemporary Indonesia. This study is a qualitative research and uses the digital ethnography (netnography) approach. This study uses two sources of data, namely, primary data, in the form of text, visuals, videos, and images obtained from several social media platforms, and secondary data in the form of literature data from previous studies. This study finds that the contestation of religious discourse among Muslim preachers in Indonesia, in particular that which have taken place on social media, has revolved around four major issues, namely, the controversies of “rendang babi” (pork rendang), “pawang hujan” (the rain shaman), the regulation of sound amplifiers in mosques and prayer spaces, and the art of wayang (puppetry). The religious contestation among Muslim preachers in Indonesia follows two patterns. The first is the substantive-inclusive religious narrative pattern, which emphasizes the core and principles of a problem. Next is the exclusive legal-formalist narrative, which tends to be normative and rigid. This last narrative is typically associated with Muslims preachers who have conservative views. Keyword : Religious contestation, social media, religious figure, Muslim preacher. Studi ini bertujuan melakukan kajian terhadap media sosial dan fenomena kontestasi keagamaan di kalangan pendakwah Muslim di Indonesia kontemporer. Kajian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan etnografi digital (netnografi). Sumber data penelitian ini ada dua, data primer berupa teks, visual, video, dan gambar yang diperoleh dari sejumlah media sosial, serta data sekunder berupa data-data kepustakaan yang didapat dari hasil kajian sebelumnya. Berdasarkan analisa data lapangan, studi ini mendapati temuan bahwa kontestasi wacana keagamaan antarpendakwah muslim di Indonesia yang selama ini berlangsung di kanal media sosial, itu tergambar dalam empat isu besar, yakni isu rendang babi, pawang hujan, aturan terkait pengeras suara di masjid dan musala, dan terakhir adalah isu tentang seni wayang. Berdasarkan narasinya, kontestasi keagamaan di kalangan pendakwah Muslim di Indonesia memiliki dua pola, yakni narasi agama berpola subtantif-inklusif, lebih menekankan pada isi, inti, dan pokok suatu permasalahan. Berikutnya, yaitu eksklusif-legal formalis, narasi keagaman yang cenderung normatif dan kaku. Bentuk narasi ini lazimnya identik dengan aktor agama atau pendakwah muslim beraliran paham konservatif..Kata Kunci : Kontestasi Agama, Media Sosial, Aktor agama, Pendakwah Muslim.

Abstract

The recent exposure of bullying in pesantren has raised an irony, threatening its reputation as a safe place to prepare students (santri) with motivation, self-reliance, well-character, and dedication. This research explores bullying in pesantrens in Madura, East Java, Indonesia. It employs a qualitative and critical descriptive approach and hypothetically relates the bullying to the demise of sufi values in the pesantren. Purposely selecting six pesantren (two from each type: Salaf, semi-modern, and modern) as samples, with respondents consisting of students, teachers and staff, this research seeks to accommodate the complexity of patterns or types that might have contributed to how bullying takes place and how it may relate to some sufi values. It turns out that among several types, bullying occurs most prevalently between students and teachers (ustadh), serving interchangeably as doers and victims. This can be as much related to social hierarchy within the pesantren as to the double roles that both play. The bullying indicates the demise of sufi values and can be attributed to at least four factors: insufficient contextualization during the learning process, imbalanced reading materials for the subject, an ineffective learning process, and a hierarchical atmosphere among the participants.

Abstract

Religious moderation is a crucial concept in maintaining harmony and tolerance in society. However, the lack of understanding and implementation of religious moderation among students often poses challenges, particularly at IBS Padepokan Kyai Mudrikah Kembang Kuning, Pamekasan. This situation can lead to potential intolerance and radicalism, which contradicts the values of Islam as rahmatan lil 'alamin (a mercy to all creations). This article aims to describe the mentoring process in strengthening the material of religious moderation for students at IBS Padepokan Kyai Mudrikah Kembang Kuning, Pamekasan. The ultimate goal is to enhance the understanding and application of religious moderation so that the students can become agents of change, promoting values of tolerance and harmony within the community. The mentoring method involves a qualitative approach, including direct observation, in-depth interviews, and focused group discussions (FGDs) with students and educators. The mentoring program is structured in several stages, starting from the introduction of concepts, discussion of real-life cases, to the implementation of moderation values in the students' daily lives. The mentoring conducted shows a significant increase in the understanding and attitude towards religious moderation among the students. They have become more capable of understanding the importance of tolerance, appreciating differences, and avoiding extreme attitudes. Additionally, this program has successfully raised critical awareness among students about contemporary religious issues that are often used to divide the ummah (Muslim community). The mentoring in strengthening the material of religious moderation at IBS Padepokan Kyai Mudrikah Kembang Kuning, Pamekasan, has successfully enhanced the understanding and moderate attitudes among students. This program is effective in preventing potential intolerance and radicalism, and in shaping students with a strong commitment to the values of Islam as rahmatan lil 'alamin. Consequently, the students are expected to become agents of change who contribute positively to harmony and tolerance in society.

Abstract

This paper aims to discover how santri’s resistance within kitab kuning reading acceleration program recently popular in Madurese pesantren turns out to improve the program itself. Santris’ resistance becomes a big deal considering its contradiction to ethical unwritten rules in pesantren while the fact shows how this phenomenon strikes. For that purpose, genealogy of such programs is firstly identified along with characteristics of each to figure out how, beyond the existing diversities, the programs share the same pattern, including the common root and impact of resistance. Involving 240 informants from santri, ustad, and program providers, this mixed research expanded its data compilation with in-depth interviews engaging some selected informants as well as comprehensive desk review. The result discloses  pesantren networking in intellectual hub responding to nowadays challenges in the decrease of kitab kuning reading proficiency along with dynamics of resistance among santri, mainly in negotiation type through emotional, verbal, and physical expression. Despite the fact that resistance mutates along with punishment as a part of rule, it has less influence on the program accomplishment, implying how both program and its resistance based system improvement transform the way Islamic education takes place beyond the studens’ sort of transgression.

Abstract

This research explores the crucial role of literacy in the educational context, with a specific focus on the implementation of the BARATA Literacy Model at SMP Negeri 5 Pamekasan. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the implementation of the BARATA model, related literacy activities, and their impact on students' reading and writing abilities in the school environment. Student participation across different grade levels is delineated, encompassing students from grades 7, 8, and 9. Data regarding students' initial involvement in literacy activities are also identified. The data collection methods involve in-depth interviews with students, the School Principal, and teachers, coupled with observations to gain direct insights into the classroom dynamics during literacy activities using the BARATA model. The research findings indicate that the BARATA model has a positive impact, enhancing students' reading skills, improving academic achievements, and involving the literacy team. Data analysis reveals majority support for the effectiveness of this model, although some respondents express neutral or negative views, emphasizing the importance of understanding variations in perceptions of literacy technology. Furthermore, the data supports the effectiveness of the teacher's validation process for student writings and the initiative to compile students' works into anthology books. Despite variations in responses, the research concludes that the BARATA model has successfully created dynamic literacy activities and positively influenced the literacy competence of students at SMP Negeri 5 Pamekasan.

Abstract

This study examines the function of educational psychology and its relevance to the teacher’s role in learning evaluation from As-Syarqawi’s perspective in Al-Ta’allamu Nadhariyat wa al-Tathbiqat. The study arises from the tendency of evaluation practices to focus mainly on cognitive outcomes while neglecting motivation, readiness, affective and psychomotor aspects, as well as individual differences. Employing a library research method, it analyzes classical works and modern educational psychology literature to construct an integrative perspective. The findings reveal that educational psychology helps teachers understand learners holistically, design objective and adaptive evaluations, and address learning difficulties. As-Syarqawi emphasizes that educational theory and practice must be integrated, and that evaluation should not be limited to cognitive achievement but must also consider moral, ethical, and spiritual dimensions. This integration results in a more scientific, humanistic, and comprehensive evaluation model, ultimately aiming to shape students into insan kamil.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran Modifikasi Tingkah laku dalam proses pembelajaran dianggap suatu hal penting yang harus ada, karena hal ini sesuai dengan tujuan utama dalam pembelajaran, yaitu tercapainya perubahan tingkah laku yang diharapkan, memiliki lingkup aplikasi yang luas dan dijadikan sebagai treatment terhadap berbagai masalah tingkah laku maupun belajar anak yang disebabkan oleh faktor fisik atau biologis. Dalam Modifikasi perilaku analisis terhadap perilaku yang akan diubah harus dilakukan menjadi perilaku yang tunggal (rinci), sehingga beda dengan perilaku lain.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji model pembelajaran modifikasi tingkah laku dan implementasinya dalam pendidikan. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan sumber data adalah buku dan artikel jurnal serta sumber lain yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebagian dari teori, prinsip, tujuan, metode atau prosedur pelaksanaan modifikasi prilaku layak di implementasikan dalam pembelajaran PAI, karena memiliki kesamaan orientasi yaitu mengubah akhlak maladaptive menjadi akhlak adaptive. Perubahan akhlak ini diperlukan untuk mengembangkan pembelajar Muslim yang memiliki akhlak mulia.

Abstract

Pendidikan Agama Islam memiliki orientasi yang lebih luas dibandingkan pendidikan pada umumnya karena tidak hanya bertujuan mencerdaskan akal, tetapi juga membentuk kepribadian, akhlak, dan spiritualitas peserta didik. Proses pendidikan akan berjalan efektif apabila didukung oleh berbagai faktor, baik internal maupun eksternal, yang secara bersamaan memengaruhi keberhasilan pembelajaran. Salah satu faktor penting yang perlu mendapat perhatian adalah minat belajar. Minat belajar merupakan dorongan batin yang menumbuhkan kecenderungan peserta didik untuk memperhatikan, memahami, dan mendalami ilmu pengetahuan. Minat inilah yang menumbuhkan semangat belajar sehingga peserta didik mampu menghadapi kesulitan, merasa senang, dan mencapai hasil yang diharapkan. Tanpa minat, proses pembelajaran akan terasa berat, kering, bahkan berpotensi gagal mencapai tujuan pendidikan. Dalam pandangan Asy-Syarqowi, minat belajar memiliki urgensi yang sangat besar dalam pendidikan Islam, karena tidak hanya berpengaruh pada ranah kognitif, tetapi juga membentuk sikap, perilaku, dan akhlak mulia peserta didik. Oleh sebab itu, pendidikan Islam harus menumbuhkan minat belajar dengan cara memadukan nilai-nilai spiritual dan religius, sehingga proses pembelajaran tidak hanya berorientasi pada keberhasilan duniawi, tetapi juga mendekatkan diri kepada Allah SWT. Dengan demikian, urgensi minat belajar menurut Asy-Syarqowi terletak pada perannya sebagai penggerak utama dalam membentuk generasi muslim yang cerdas, berakhlak, serta berorientasi pada tujuan hidup hakiki, yaitu keberhasilan di dunia dan keselamatan di akhirat.
