Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of districts in North Sumatra Province in an effort to increase rice production in North Sumatra Province. The type of data used in this study is secondary data. The basic method used is descriptive analysis research method. The analytical tool used is Shift Share Analysis (SSA). The results of this study indicate; 1) districts that have potential harvested area in North Sumatra Province are Nias Barat district, Mandailing Natal District, South Tapanuli District, North Padang Lawas Regency, Central Tapanuli Regency, South Nias Regency, Padang Sidempuan Regency, Gunung Sitoli Regency, Tapanuli Regency North, Simalungun Regency, Binjai Regency, Labuhan Batu Regency, Langkat Regency; 2) Districts that have rice production potential in North Sumatra Province are Nias Regency, West Nias Regency, Mandailing Natal Regency, Padang Lawas Utara Regency, South Nias Regency, Padang Sidempuan District Gunung Sitoli, Tapanuli Utara Regency, Toba Samosir Regency, Regency Simalungun, Karo Regency, Batu Bara Regency, Asahan Regency, Binjai Regency; 3) Districts in North Sumatra Province which are the most potential areas, in the harvest area is North Padang Lawas Regency and the most potential area in rice production is Simalungun Regency

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know any socio economic factors that affect investment (education costs) of the children of implementing employees at PTPN III Kebun Hulu, Nagori Village, Banjar Hulu, Ujung Padang District, Simalungun Regency. The sampling method is done by Purposive method. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression test with SPSS 18 tools. Socio-economic factors that affect investment (education costs) simultaneously are age, number of children, funds and education on investment (education costs) at PT Perkebunan Nusantara III Kebun Dusun Hulu. This can be seen from the t test, where t-test 2.333 t-table 2.045 at α = 5%. By parsial age variable not have an effect on to invesment ( expense of education) can be seen test of  t, where t-hitung (-1,047) t-tabel (2,045), by parsial variable of amount of  child  not have an effect on to invesment (expense of education) where t-hitung (-1,568)   t-tabel  (2,045), by parsial earnings of executor employees not have an effect on to invesment (expense of education) where t-hitung (0,180) t-tabel (2,045), by parsial education variable not have an effect on to invesment (expense of education), where t-hitung (0,910) t-tabel (2,045).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate papaya cultivation, to analyze the costs of production and acceptance and profits of papaya farmers, and to analyze the feasibility of papaya farming in Secanggang District, Langkat Regency. Research in Secanggang District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Province. Determination of the research area is carried out by Pusposive (intentional). The study was conducted in May - July 2017. The sampling method was conducted by census by taking 28 papaya farmers who had plant life above 1 year. The results showed the condition of land availability was 0.5 ha so that the spacing was not suitable. The cultivation technique has not been improved even though it has been experienced for 15 years. This is evidenced by the productivity of papaya land at only 19,260.51 kg / ha. While papaya land productivity is good 20-35 tons / ha. The average  farmer income is Rp. 29,468,571 per farmer or Rp. 59,255,411 per hectare per year. Farming income obtained is Rp. 22,333,539 per farmer or Rp. 44,823,477 per hectare per year, and after adding the TKDK value, the family income of Rp. 23,889,254 per farmer or Rp. 48,500,888 per hectare per year. RCR value is greater than 1 so it is concluded that papaya farming in the study area is classified as feasible. Every expenditure of Rp. 1 will generate revenue of Rp. 4.13.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of  work discipline on employee productivity at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) Pabatu Business Unit. The population in this study were all employees of the department, engineering / processing,  and  general  at  PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) Unit Business Unit is 1031 people. the number of respondents used in this study were 104 people. The research was obtained from the results of the t test on the variables obeying all company regulations, namely 2.652> T table = 1.980 stating that complying with all company regulations had a positive and significant effect on employee work productivity. Effective use of time is 3,069 <Ttable = 1,980 stating that  effective use of time has a positive and significant effect on employee work productivity variables. Responsibility for work and assignments is 5,467> T table = 1.980 states that work responsibilities and tasks have positive and significant to employee work productivity. The absentee level of 1,200 <Ttable = 1,980 has a positive and insignificant effect  on employee work productivity. The simultaneous test results obtained are 262.880> 2.31, which states that work discipline simultaneously has a positive and significant effect on employee work productivity. And the R value obtained is 0.884. This figure shows that 88.4% of work productivity is explained by the variable work discipline.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the existence of Percut Water Parkagrotourism on the socio-economic community in Tanjung Selamat Village, Kec. Percut Sei Tuan, Kab. Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. Sampling was carried out using the Slovin formula. The sample in this study was the people of Tanjung Selamat Village with a sample of 75 respondents. The data collected are primary data and secondary data. The analytical method used is simple linear regression. The results showed that the existence of Percut Water Park. Agrotourism had an influence on the socio-economic community of Tanjung Selamat Village. The development of the Percut Water Parkagrotourism area improves the socio-economic conditions of the surrounding community. This can be seen from the emergence of business opportunities, employment, and increased income of the surrounding community. Percut Water Parkagrotourism has no effect on the sociocultural of the local community. The community still carries out social and religious activities before and afterPercut Water Park agrotourism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of education on organizational culture, the effect of length of service on organizational culture, the effect of education on employee performance, the effect of length of service on employee performance, the influence of organizational culture on employee performance, the indirect effect of education on employee performance through organizational culture and the indirect effect of length of service on employee performance through organizational culture at the Office of the Board of Directors of PT. Plantation III Medan. The population in this study were all employees of the Office of the Board of Directors of PT. Plantation III Medan totaling 75 people. Based on the Slovin formula, a sample of 43 people was obtained where the sampling technique used simple random sampling. The variables used in this study are independent variables and dependent variables. In this study the independent variables were education (X1) and length of work (X2). The dependent variable is employee performance (Y), while the intervening variable is organizational culture (Z). Data analysis used multiple linear regression test and path analysis. The results showed that education and length of work had a significant effect on organizational culture. Education and length of work have a significant effect on employee performance, while organizational culture has no significant effect on employee performance. Education has a significant effect on employee performance through organizational culture. Length of work has no significant effect on employee performance through organizational culture at the Office of the Board of Directors of PT.

Abstract

This study to examine the effect of workload on job satisfaction, workstress on job satisfaction, examine the effect of workload and work stress on job satisfaction, workload on employee performance, work stress on employee performance, job satisfaction on employee performance, workload and work stress on employee performance through job satisfaction in Rubber Plantation Serdang II District, PTPN III. The sample in this study are 82 people. The analytical method used in this research using multiple linear regression analysis. The result of the direct influence test shows that workload has a negative effect on job satisfaction, work stress has a negative effect on job satisfaction, workload and work stress have an influence on job satisfaction, workload has a negative effect on employee performance, work stress has a negative effect on employee performance, job satisfaction has a positive effect on employee performance and the effect of workload, job stress and job satisfaction has a positive effect on employee performance. The indirect effect that occurs in this study is that job satisfaction is only able to become a pseudo-mediator on employee performance.

Abstract

Perkembangan luas areal kelapa sawit sangat mengkhawatirkan karena sudah merangsek ke areal dengan kemiringan lebih dari 40%. Masalahnya bukan hanya karena nilai produktivitas sawit  yang rendah, tetapi juga karena laju deforestasi semakin meningkat. Kajian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi nilai keberlanjutan kelapa sawit di Tapanuli Selatan, dalam rangka memberikan pilihan strategi penerapan Rencana Aksi Sawit Berkelanjutan (RAD-SB). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksploratif dan survei lapangan dengan Interview terstruktur dan tidak terstruktur dengan petani independen, agen TBS  dan pengelola PKS. Hasil penelitian dikelompokkan dua strategi yaitu strategi pada tingkat kelembagaan di Kabupaten dan strategi pada tingkat lapangan di Desa. Pada tingkat kelembagaan di Kabupaten terlihat bahwa peranan lembaga pendukung yang tergabung dalam FOKSBI masih belum solid, meskipun sudah memiliki komitmen yang sama untuk menerapkan aksi pembangunan sawit berkelanjutan.Elaborasi aspek-aspek keberlanjutan yang diperlukan untuk menerapkan RAD-SB masih dimengerti dalam dimensi yang berbeda-beda. Strategi tingkat lapangan bertujuan untuk mencari cara-cara atau sistem budidaya sederhana untuk meningkatkan pendapatan petani, tanpa merusak sumberdaya hutan dan lahan. Terdapat potensi yang besar untuk meningkatkan produktivitas TBS tanpa merusak sumberdaya alam, meningkatkan kualitas buah dan melepas jerat monopoli pasar TBS yang terjadi. Praktik budidaya ekspansif dapat diubah menjadi budidaya hemat lahan dengan sistem perkebunan yang lebih intensif dan teknologi yang sederhana, murah, mudah dan memenuhi persyaratan konservasi. Penguatan lembaga penyuluhan dan pendanaan berkelanjutan merupakan keniscayaan penerapan RAD-SB agar meeningkatkan output  dan outcome yang nyata, yaitu terwujudnya kesejahteraan petani secara luas dan terwujunya sustainable-landscape di Tapanuli Selatan.

Abstract

Kentang merupakan komoditas yang berperan penting bagi masyarakat karena berperan sebagai pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan dan juga gizi masyarakat. Salah satu propinsi penghasil kentang di provinsi Sumatera Utara adalah Kabupaten Karo sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi kentang, menganalisis layak atau tidaknya usaha tani kentang, dan mengetahui saluran pemasaran kentang di desa Sempajaya, Kecamatan Berastagi Kabupaten Karo. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penentuan sampel petani kentang adalah Stratified Random Sampling, yaitu strata luas lahan kecil (£ 0,5 ha) dan strata luas lahan besar (> 0,5 ha). Metode penentuan sampel pedagang kentang yang digunakan adalah snowball sampling dengan jumlah sebanyak 8 (delapan) orang. Metode analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan regresi non linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara simultan luas lahan, curahan tenaga kerja, dan biaya sarana produksi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap produksi usaha tani kentang. Secara parsial biaya sarana produksi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap produksi usahatani kentang. Pada daerah penelitian layak diperolehnya nilai R/C rasio sebesar 2,14 > 1, BEP produksi sebesar 6.082,14 kg < rata-rata produksi petani sampel sebesar 7.930 kg, dan BEP harga sebesar Rp 2.583,73/kg < rata-rata harga jual kentang sebesar Rp 5.500,-/kg. Selanjutnya, terdapat tiga saluran pemasaran kentang di daerah penelitian. Saluran pertama yaitu petani, pedagang besar, pedagang pengecer, konsumen di Medan. Saluran kedua yaitu petani, pedagang pengecer, konsumen di Medan. Saluran ketiga yaitu petani, pedagang pengumpul, pedagang pengecer di Berastagi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh kualitas sumber daya manusia terhadap efektivitas kerja dan implikasinya terhadap kinerja karyawan pelaksana di PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero).Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, jenis penelitiannya adalah survey.Sampel ditentukan dengan metode random sampling sebanyak 260 orang. Pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial, tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap efektivitas kerja karyawan, sedangkan sikap terhadap pekerjaan berpengaruh tidak signifikan. Nilai pengaruh yang paling tinggi adalah variabel keterampilan, artinya keterampilan berpengaruh lebih dominan terhadap efektivitas kerja karyawan pelaksana, dengan total pengaruh sebesar 62,74% (pengaruh langsung sebesar 56,7%). Secara simultan, kualitas SDM (tingkat pengetahuan, sikap terhadap pekerjaan dan keterampilan) secara langsung dan tidak langsung berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap efektivitas kerja karyawan pelaksana. Nilai pengaruh kualitas SDM terhadap efektivitas kerja adalah sebesar 70,17% dengan pengaruh langsung sebesar 58,01%. Efektivitas kerja karyawan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pelaksana di PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), dengan total pengaruh sebesar 80,28%, artinya perubahan kinerja karyawan pelaksana dipengaruhi oleh perubahan efektivitas kerja sebesar 80,28%. Efektivitas kerja karyawanmerupakan variabel intervening variabel kualitas SDM terhadap kinerja karyawan pelaksana, karena terjadi peningkatan pengaruh variabel kualitas SDM terhadap kinerja karyawan sebesar 10,11% jika melalui variabel efektivitas kerja.
