Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 4 Sipahutar ditinjau dari indikator pemecahan masalah matematis setelah diberikan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa/i kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 4 Sipahutar yang berjumlah 25 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah metode tes meliputi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Adapun hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi Teorema Phytagoras di kelasVIII SMP N 4 Sipahutar meningkat setelah dilakukan pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Hal ini ditunjukkan melaui hasil pre-test dan post-test. (2) Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa terjadi pada masing-masing indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, ditinjau dari hasil analisis Presentasi Penguasaan Siswa (PPS) pada hasil pre-test dan post-test. (3) Kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa ketikta mengerjakan soal yang berkaitan dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis adalah kesalahan karena tidak melakukan pemeriksaan kembali sehingga siswa menuliskan kesimpulan dengan tidak lengkap.

Abstract

The Building Harmony Among Religions: Strengthening Religious Tolerance at the Community Level program aims to enhance public understanding and awareness of the importance of religious tolerance through interfaith dialogue. This research is driven by the increasing need for social harmony amidst the religious diversity present in Indonesian society. The primary objective of this study is to explore how community service activities can strengthen the values of religious tolerance at the community level and create interfaith collaboration networks. The research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation during the program's implementation. The results show that the program successfully increased participants' understanding of the importance of tolerance, strengthened interfaith relationships, and encouraged collaborative actions in addressing social issues. However, challenges remain in overcoming the exclusive attitudes of some participants and the limited time frame, which restricted the program's reach. The conclusion of this study is that the religious tolerance strengthening program is highly effective in enhancing interfaith harmony at the community level, but to expand its impact, program sustainability and support from various parties are needed.ABSTRAKProgram Membangun Harmoni Antar Agama: Program Penguatan Toleransi Beragama di Tingkat Komunitas bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya toleransi beragama melalui dialog antaragama. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya kebutuhan akan kerukunan sosial di tengah keberagaman agama yang ada di masyarakat Indonesia. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dapat memperkuat nilai toleransi beragama di tingkat komunitas dan menciptakan jejaring kolaborasi lintas agama. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, wawancara mendalam, dan observasi partisipatif selama pelaksanaan program. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman peserta tentang pentingnya toleransi, mempererat hubungan antar umat beragama, dan mendorong aksi kolaboratif dalam menyelesaikan masalah sosial. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan dalam mengatasi sikap eksklusif dari sebagian peserta dan keterbatasan waktu yang membuat jangkauan program terbatas. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa program penguatan toleransi beragama sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan keharmonisan antaragama di tingkat komunitas, namun untuk memperluas dampaknya, dibutuhkan kesinambungan program dan dukungan dari berbagai pihak.

Abstract

The orientation of educational institutions is busy with exam scores, and academic grades are the main prerequisites for graduation. As a result, the product produced by students is how high the report card score is and discredits the values of character, life and morality. This causes students to lose focus on character education. For this reason, teachers as the main milestone in learning in the classroom are required to create a learning atmosphere with character based on DOOR (Diversity, Optimism, Option for The Poor, Respect). This is because the character based on DOOR is a guideline in the ministry at the Bethlehem Bandar Baru Foundation. The objectives of the study are: (1) To describe the management model of character education training based on DOOR; (2) Determine the feasibility of the character education training management model based on DOOR; and (3) Determine the effectiveness of the implementation of character education training management based on DOOR at the Bethlehem Bandar Baru Foundation. The research uses a research and development approach to develop a model to improve teacher performance at the Betlehem Bandar Baru Foundation. The research sample is 59 teachers at the Bethlehem Bandar Baru Foundation. The results of the study show: (1) The training model developed is feasible to be used in an effort to improve the performance of teachers of the Bethlehem Bandar Baru Foundation, through the following stages: planning, organizing, moving, and supervising; (2) The training model is effectively used to improve the performance of teachers of the Betlehem Bandar Baru Foundation. There was an increase in teacher performance in the following aspects: learning planning by 42.05%; the implementation of learning is 29.74%; and assessed learning outcomes by 59.49%; and (3) a character training model developed practically for improving teacher performance at the Bethlehem Bandar Baru Foundation, obtained N-Gain Score g = 0.76 > 0.7 (small group trial) and g = 0.79 > 0.7 (limited wide trial); The resulting products were 76.40% (small group trials) and 79.08% (limited wide trials) with the effective category. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that the improvement of teacher performance at the Bethlehem Bandar Baru Foundation must be carried out with integrated planning, organization, implementation and supervision between the Archdiocesan Foundation, the Foundation's internal supervisors, principals, and teachers.

Abstract

The impact of culture on learning has been extensively acknowledged by authorities such as Vygotsky. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the Acehnese culture-based training model, Seulangke, and to enhance the competencies of state secondary school administrators in South Aceh Regency, Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative methodology with a cultural perspective. This paper employs a pre-experimental design characterized by a one-shot case study involving 27 principals in South Aceh. Data collection was conducted by testing and paperwork, thereafter analyzed with the t-test method utilizing SPSS version 23. Differences in learning results exist between training participants utilizing the Jigsaw training model (experiment A) and the Seulangkê model (experiment B) among school principals. The study stated that the experimental data indicated a disparity in learning outcomes between experiment A, which yielded a score of 69.63, and experiment B, which achieved a score of 75.00. This indicates that the application of Experiment B (Seulangkê Model) in education is superior to the control Experiment B (Jigsaw Model). The statistical examination of the "t-test" indicates a t-count of -2.887, with a significance level of 5% (95% confidence interval) and 52 degrees of freedom. If the t-count is situated in that region, H0 is dismissed. Consequently, it can be inferred that the learning outcomes of participants in experimental classes A and B regarding principal competence (personality, managerial skills, entrepreneurship, supervision, and social abilities) are not identical or significantly different, indicating that there are disparities in the learning outcomes of the training participants, with experiment B outperforming experiment A.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of change management concerning the teacher code of ethics at SMA Unggul Del in the context of Generation Z student behavior. The objective is to evaluate the extent and effectiveness of change management strategies applied to the teacher's code of ethics in addressing the specific behavioral characteristics of Generation Z students within this educational setting. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and questionnaires to gain comprehensive insights. The findings revealed inconsistencies between teachers' comprehension of the ethical code and its practical application, alongside difficulties in managing technology use, a prominent aspect of Generation Z's behavior. Consequently, this research suggests the necessity of targeted change interventions, such as continuous professional development and collaborative strategy development. In conclusion, effective change management is crucial for enhancing the practical application of the teacher code of ethics, thereby fostering a more supportive and productive learning environment tailored to the needs of Generation Z students

Abstract

Dewasa ini perkembangan internet semakin pesat dan merambah ke beberapa bidang, tidak terkecuali bidang pendidikan. Media pembelajaran juga ikut berkembang dan memunculkan Jejaring Sosial Pembelajaran (Social Learning Network). Edmodo merupakan sebuah media pembelajaran secara daring yang menggabungkan beberapa fitur Learning Management System dan Social Network menjadi Social Learning Network yang khusus dibuat untuk keperluan pendidikan. Untuk memperoleh proses pembelajaran yang efektif, guru maupun murid harus memiliki media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan menarik, hal inilah yang dialami oleh Guru guru Matematika di Kabupaten Langkat. Guru-guru Guru guru Matematika di Kabupaten Langkat belum melaksanakan pelatihan peningkatan penggunaan media pembelajaran social network, Flipped Learning, Edmodo, Hal tersebut melatar belakangi tim pengabdian untuk memberikan pelatihan “Pelatihan Skill Social Learning Network pada Penerapan Hots Bagi Guru Matematika Se Kabupaten Langkat ”. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan di Gedung PKK Langkat, Kwala Bingai Stabat, dengan metode ceramah dan praktik langsung. Peserta pelatihan ini adalah 60 orang yang terdiri dari guru matematika se Kabupaten Langkat Kegiatan berlangsung selama 1 (satu ) hari dengan durasi 4 (empat ) jam. Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan ketrampilan dan pemahaman peserta meningkat terkait penggunaan jejaring sosial pembelajaran Edmodo berbasis Hots.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran matematika interatif melalui macromedia flash yang valid, praktis dan efektifan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah research and develompment (R&D). Model pengembangan media ini pernah dikembangkan terutama berdasarkan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Adapun subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 6 SMA Negeri 11 Medan yang berjumlah 36 orang. Berdasarkan hasil uji yang dilakukan, diperoleh statistik dari validasi ahli materi dengan persentase rata-rata skor 91,96% berada pada kategori sangat valid, sedangkan hasil validasi media dengan persentase rata-rata skor 89,5% berada pada kategori sangat valid. Kepraktisan dilihat hasil persentase angket respon guru dengan persentase rata-rata 88,3% dan respon siswa dengan persentase rata-rata 75%, sehingga secara keseluruhan media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti berada pada kategori sangat praktis. Keefektifan media pembelajaran matematika interaktif melalui macromedia flash dinyatakan efektif meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas XI IPA 6 SMA Negeri 11 Medan dengan skor N-Gain dengan rata-rata sebesar 74,13.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat oleh tim dosen pengabdian masyarakat FMIPA Universitas Negeri Medan ini peningkatan kompetensi guru SMP dalam menerapkan pembelajaran IPA terpadu berbasis masalah. Pembelajaran IPA terpadu berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Tujuan pengabdian mengacu pada permasalahan dan analisa situasi pada mitra. Adapun masalah yang dihadapi mitra adalah 1) Proses belajar mengajar masih sangat berfokus pada guru (teacher centered) sebagai sumber utama informasi atau pengetahuan. 2) Media pembelajaran IPA yang kurang optimal dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa dan berpikir kritis. 3) Kurangnya kompetensi guru SMP dalam menerapkan pembelajaran IPA terpadu berbasis masalah Pembelajaran IPA yang diterapkan di SMP/MTs saat ini dikemas secara terpadu. Dengan demikian, dalam pembelajaran IPA Terpadu siswa dapat memperoleh pengalaman belajar secara langsung dalam menemukan sendiri konsep yang dipelajari. Pendampingan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam pengembangan pembelajaran, sekaligus meningkatkan keterlibatan dan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran

Abstract

The massive improvement in the quality of education in Indonesia is largely determined by teacher performance, which is a key factor in the success of the learning process. This study investigates the impact of altruistic leadership and talent management on teacher performance at Sultan Agung Private High School. A quantitative method with a survey design was used. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 37 teachers and analyzed using multiple linear regression to explore the relationship between independent variables (altruistic leadership and talent management) and dependent variables (teacher performance). The findings indicate that altruistic leadership has a positive but insignificant impact on teacher performance, with increased motivation and job satisfaction as the main contributing factors. On the other hand, talent management, which includes effective recruitment, continuous training, and career development, was found to have a positive and significant influence on improving teacher performance. The combination of these two factors creates a stronger impact, highlighting the importance of leadership and talent management in creating a conducive work environment for teachers' professional growth. In practical terms, schools are encouraged to implement altruistic leadership training programs and strengthen talent management systems to maximize teacher potential. At the policy level, education authorities need to develop guidelines that integrate values-based leadership and talent management as standards for improving teacher performance at the secondary school level. This step is expected to strengthen the quality of teaching and support the achievement of national education goals.ABSTRAKPeningkatan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia secara besar-besaran ditentukan oleh kinerja guru, yang merupakan faktor kunci dalam kesuksesan proses pembelajaran. Studi ini menyelidiki dampak kepemimpinan altruistik dan manajemen talenta terhadap kinerja guru di Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta Sultan Agung. Metode kuantitatif dengan desain survei digunakan. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada 37 guru dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara variabel independen (kepemimpinan altruistik dan manajemen talenta) dan variabel dependen (kinerja guru). Temuan menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan altruistik memiliki dampak positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja guru, dengan peningkatan motivasi dan kepuasan kerja sebagai faktor utama yang berkontribusi. Di sisi lain, manajemen talenta, yang mencakup perekrutan yang efektif, pelatihan berkelanjutan, dan pengembangan karier, ditemukan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru. Kombinasi kedua faktor ini menciptakan dampak yang lebih kuat, menyoroti pentingnya kepemimpinan dan manajemen talenta dalam menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang kondusif untuk pertumbuhan profesional guru. Secara praktis, sekolah dianjurkan untuk mengimplementasikan program pelatihan kepemimpinan altruistik dan memperkuat sistem manajemen talenta guna memaksimalkan potensi guru. Secara kebijakan, pihak dinas pendidikan perlu mengembangkan pedoman yang mengintegrasikan kepemimpinan berbasis nilai dan manajemen talenta sebagai standar peningkatan kinerja guru di tingkat sekolah menengah. Langkah ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat kualitas pengajaran dan mendukung pencapaian tujuan pendidikan Nasional.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a Lesson Study-Based Principal Competency Management Model in improving the quality of academic supervision and learning in public senior high schools (SMA Negeri) in Langkat Regency. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the model was designed through a series of stages: preliminary study, model development, limited trials, extended trials, and final implementation. The model integrates the core principles of Lesson Study (Plan–Do–See–Act) into the principal's role as an instructional leader. The results showed that the model is valid, practical, and effective. Principals who implemented the model demonstrated increased competence in academic supervision, engaged in reflective discussions with teachers, and supported the improvement of teaching practices. The Lesson Study cycle empowered principals not only as administrators but also as facilitators of professional learning. The model also fostered a collaborative culture among educators and had a positive impact on the quality of classroom instruction. Based on these findings, the model is recommended for broader implementation and policy integration in professional development programs for school leaders.
