Abstract

Marine Protected Areas (MPA) were created to address overfishing, which can harm fishing communities and reduce the number of fish. This affects how much food is available and how happy people feel, especially for people who work as small-scale fishermen. They depend on catching fish to meet their needs. This study aimed to find out what factors affect fishermen's choice to participate in MPAs. It was done in Malang and Probolinggo Regencies in East Java, with 200 fishermen involved in the research. This research gathers information by asking people questions through a survey. The survey has a set of questions that are planned. The economist studies the probit model to determine what factors affect fishermen's choice to join MPAs. The findings indicated that factors like family members, marital status, number of fishing gear, market access, and savings did not have a noteworthy impact on the involvement of small-scale fishermen in MPAs. But, things like how old they are, how much education they have, whether they belong to a fishermen's group, if they work outside of fishing, and if they are part of a cooperative all greatly impact whether small fishermen participate in MPAs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify financial performance differences of Bank Negara Indonesia before and after the application of Mobile Banking. This research period is six years before (2010 – 2015) and six years after (2016 – 2021) implementation of Mobile Banking. Financial performance was analyzed from the aspects of capital (CAR), productive assets (NPL), profitability (ROA), efficiency cost (OER), and liquidity (LDR). Normality test showed that CAR and NPL was tested using Paired sample t-test. Meanwhile ROA, BOPO, and LDR were tested using Wilcoxon signed-rank test. SPSS 25 was used for data processing. This study finds that OER does not show difference in financial performance before and after application of Mobile Banking. In NPL, there’s a slightly decreased after Mobile Banking application, considered as insignificant. CAR and LDR indicate an increase in financial performance. ROA significantly decreased after the application, which caused by high cost of application development and short period of the research. This study recommends banking companies, particularly Bank Negara Indonesia, to promote activation of Mobile Banking. Furthermore, security issues are crucial for both public and banks. Implementing proactive cybersecurity, policy harmonization, and increasing people awareness concerning cyberattack can serve protection for both banks and customers.

Abstract

Productive Waqf in Bondowoso is still relatively low compared to other surrounding areas. This may be due to the perception of the Bondowoso community that only looks at waqf and the number of people who also do not fully understand the meaning of waqf. One of the major contributors to productive waqf is the State Civil Apparatus (ASN). However, not every ASN who is waqf has a sufficient understanding of waqf. Therefore, the researcher conducted a study of Bondowoso Regency State Civil Apparatus Acceptance (ASN) Against the Productive Waqf Concept with the aim of knowing the effect of the level of understanding, the level of religiosity and information media on the acceptance of the productive waqf concept. This study uses quantitative research methods using primary data obtained by distributing questionnaires to ASN Kab. Bondowoso in the Regional Secretariat. The sample selection used purposive sampling technique with a total of 102 samples. The results obtained are 16 respondents who do not accept the concept of productive waqf and 86 respondents who accept the concept of productive waqf. So the ASN acceptance of the concept of productive waqf is divided into two, some reject and some accept. The level of understanding, the level of religiosity and the information media have an influence on the acceptance of the concept of productive waqf.
