Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Digital Smart Cards on the mathematical classification abilities of 4–5-year-old children at the UNP Padang Laboratory Development Kindergarten. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent control group type. The study population included all students at the UNP Padang Laboratory Kindergarten, while the sample was determined using purposive sampling, specifically classes A1 and A2, each consisting of 12 children. The research instrument consisted of a validated mathematical classification ability test developed by experts. Data analysis included a prerequisite test, independent sample t-test, and effect size calculation using the SPSS 26.0 for Windows. The results showed that in the experimental group using digital smart pockets, the average pre-test score of 32.08 increased to 45.33 on the post-test. Meanwhile, the control group using conventional learning methods (number cards) showed an increase from 32.58 to 40.58. The t-test. The t-test yielded a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. The effect size value of d = 2.22 falls into the category of very strong effect (d > 1). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It can be concluded that the use of digital smart pocket media is effective in improving the mathematical ability of young children at the UNP Padang Laboratory Development Kindergarten.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan e-book interaktif sebagai media edukasi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan parenting adaptif dan praktik disiplin anak pada orang tua anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental) dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini di TK Negeri Pembina Kinali, dengan sampel yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, lembar observasi, dan wawancara mendalam, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji t-test untuk data kuantitatif dan analisis tematik untuk data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian secara hipotetis menunjukkan bahwa intervensi dengan e-book interaktif memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dan efektif. Kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan yang substansial, termasuk 94% pada pemahaman karakteristik anak di era digital, 82% pada pola asuh yang tepat, dan 88% pada strategi komunikasi efektif. Pembahasan mendalam mengungkapkan bahwa efektivitas ini dicapai karena e-book interaktif tidak hanya menyediakan informasi, tetapi juga bertindak sebagai katalis untuk interaksi berkualitas tinggi antara orang tua dan anak, sejalan dengan konsep mindful parenting dan teori belajar sosial.

Abstract

This study aims to improve early childhood reading skills through the use of recycled materials. The low interest and reading ability of group B children at the Al-Quran Ijtihad Sikalang Kindergarten in Sawahlunto City is the background of this study, where learning is still dominated by conventional methods that lack variety. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of three meetings. The subjects were 15 children in group B. Data collection techniques used observation, documentation, and performance assessment. The results showed a significant increase in each cycle. In the pre-cycle condition, classical mastery only reached 4%. After the Cycle I action, children's abilities began to develop but were not optimal. Rapid improvement occurred in Cycle II with the use of environmental print media (real product packaging), where classical mastery reached 95% with the categories Developing According to Expectations (BSH) and Developing Very Well (BSB). It was concluded that recycled materials media are effective in creating contextual, enjoyable learning and significantly improving children's early reading skills.

Abstract

Gross motor skills are a vital aspect of developmental stimulation in early childhood, contributing significantly to physical maturity and movement coordination. Initial observations indicate that some young children have not yet reached optimal development in this area and still require guidance from teachers. This study aims to describe the implementation of gross motor stimulation activities at Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Terpadu Ar-Royyan Padang. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included teachers and the school principal, with data validity ensured through triangulation techniques. Data analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the planning of gross motor stimulation at TK Islam Terpadu Ar-Royyan Padang refers to the Daily and Weekly Learning Implementation Plans (RPPH and RPPM). The stimulation is carried out through a variety of activities such as gymnastics, letter-matching games, bakiak games, dancing, engklek (hopscotch), and swimming. Teachers employ a range of instructional methods, including hands-on practice, performance demonstrations, and learning through play, to stimulate children's gross motor skills effectively. These findings indicate that gross motor stimulation is both structurally designed and variably implemented in accordance with the developmental characteristics of early childhood.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pendidikan anak usia dini memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kemandirian dan karakter anak sejak usia dini. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah melalui kegiatan pembiasaan practical life, yaitu aktivitas sehari-hari yang dilakukan secara langsung dan berulang oleh anak. Tujuan: untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan kegiatan pembiasaan practical life serta perannya dalam mendukung perilaku mandiri anak usia dini di TPA Ummah Islamic Learning Center. Metode: menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek anak usia dini dan guru. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil: penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan practical life seperti mampu meningkatkan kemandirian anak. Kesimpulan: penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembiasaan practical life berperan positif dalam membentuk perilaku mandiri anak usia dini. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi praktis sebagai dasar pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam penguatan pendidikan karakter anak usia dini melalui kegiatan pembiasaan yang terintegrasi dalam aktivitas harian lembaga PAUD berbasis nilai-nilai Islam

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya anak yang masih bersikap anti sosial dan individual terhadap lingkungan sekitarnya. Hal ini terjadi karena penggunaan gadget yang sangat tinggi pada anak usia dini, sehingga menyebabkan anak tidak peduli dan kurang fleksibel dalam berinteraksi dengan teman-teman, khususnya dalam kemampuan bekerjasama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kegiatan kolase berkelompok dengan media loose parts dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bekerjasama anak di TK Aisyiyah 22 Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Quasy Experiment. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, masing-masing berjumlah 12 orang anak. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan nilai homogenitas, diperoleh nilai signifikansi (sig) pada uji Levene’s test of variance sebesar 0,911 yang lebih besar dari 0,05. Selanjutnya, dari nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 berdasarkan tabel t, diperoleh nilai 0,000 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan kolase berkelompok dengan media loose parts sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bekerjasama anak usia dini di TK Aisyiyah 22 Padang. Selanjutnya, para peneliti melakukan perhitungan effect size untuk mengetahui tingkat pengaruhnya. Dari hasil uji effect size diperoleh angka sebesar 2,45, yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi.

Abstract

Penilaian perkembangan Nilai Agama Islam pada anak usia dini merupakan aspek penting dalam pembentukan karakter sejak masa keemasan. Namun, hasil observasi awal di Taman Kanak-kanak Adzkia Air Bangis menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan asesmen yang dilakukan masih bersifat konvensional, sehingga belum mampu merekam perkembangan anak secara optimal, terutama pada aspek perilaku keagamaan yang bersifat kontekstual dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan asesmen autentik digital dalam menilai perkembangan Nilai Agama Islam anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi anak kelompok usia 5–6 tahun dan guru kelas, serta melibatkan orang tua sebagai informan pendukung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan keabsahan data diuji menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yakni reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan asesmen autentik digital mampu mempermudah guru dalam melakukan pencatatan, dokumentasi, dan pelaporan perkembangan anak secara lebih sistematis dan akurat. Selain itu, model ini juga meningkatkan keterlibatan orang tua dalam proses penilaian, sehingga data yang diperoleh menjadi lebih komprehensif. Dengan demikian, asesmen autentik digital dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas penilaian Nilai Agama Islam anak sesuai dengan tuntutan era digital.

Abstract

Early childhood sexuality education is important to help children learn about their bodies, understand personal boundaries, and develop self-protection skills. However, its implementation still faces obstacles, particularly the limited availability of engaging and developmentally appropriate learning media. This study aims to analyze the effect of the animated video "My Body is Mine" on the introduction of sexuality education to early childhood students at Darul Falah Kindergarten, Padang. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental design (pre-test and post-test control group). The sample consisted of 24 children divided into experimental and control classes. Data were collected through structured observation and analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, as well as independent sample t-tests. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental class, with a post-test average of 24.08 compared to the control class of 21.83. The hypothesis test showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.003 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the use of animated videos on the introduction of children's sexuality education. This finding suggests that the increase occurred because the animated video presented material in a visual, concrete, and engaging manner, making it easier for children to understand the concepts of the body, personal boundaries, and self-protection. The novelty of this research lies in the use of the contextual animated video "My Body is Mine," designed to suit the characteristics of young children, making it more effective than conventional methods. Therefore, this medium can be an innovative alternative in early childhood sexual education.

Abstract

This study addresses a critical gap in teacher education literature concerning how knowledge is transformed into teaching readiness. Although prior knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) are widely recognized as essential, the mechanisms linking them to professional readiness remain underexplored. This study proposes self-regulated learning (SRL) as a transformative mechanism connecting knowledge and teaching readiness. A quantitative explanatory design using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed, involving 199 early childhood teacher education students in Indonesia. The results show that prior knowledge has the strongest effect on SRL (β = 0.497, t = 7.644), while PCK exerts a substantial direct effect on teaching readiness (β = 0.406, t = 5.000). SRL significantly influences teaching readiness (β = 0.240, t = 2.683) and partially mediates the effects of prior knowledge (β = 0.119, t = 2.659) and PCK (β = 0.107, t = 2.306). These findings indicate that teaching readiness emerges through self-regulatory processes rather than direct knowledge acquisition. This study offers a novel mechanism-based perspective by positioning SRL as a central process in transforming knowledge into professional competence.

Abstract

The increasing global concern regarding children’s declining social-emotional competence within academically dominated early childhood education systems has intensified the demand for innovative pedagogical approaches capable of fostering holistic developmental growth. Despite the growing recognition of experiential learning and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) frameworks, many kindergarten learning environments continue to rely heavily on classroom-centered instruction that provides limited opportunities for authentic emotional interaction, collaborative engagement, and adaptive social participation. Addressing this gap, the present study investigated the effectiveness of Camping Day activities as a structured experiential learning model for strengthening children’s social-emotional intelligence in kindergarten education. The study employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 60 children aged five to six years from four kindergartens in Kampar Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected through structured observations, semi-structured teacher interviews, and field documentation based on five SEL dimensions, namely self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsibility, and relationship skills. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-tests, while qualitative findings were interpreted thematically to provide contextual and conceptual depth. The findings revealed a statistically significant improvement in children’s social-emotional intelligence following participation in Camping Day activities, with the mean score increasing from 2.08 to 3.41 (t = 8.73, p < .001). The most substantial improvements were identified in emotional regulation, collaborative responsibility, communication, and peer interaction. The findings further demonstrate that pedagogically mediated experiential outdoor learning creates emotionally meaningful learning ecologies that strengthen children’s adaptive behavior and interpersonal competence through authentic social engagement. This study contributes conceptually by positioning Camping Day as a structured socio-emotional immersion model that extends experiential learning and SEL discourse within contemporary early childhood education while offering a globally relevant pedagogical perspective for fostering holistic child development.
