Abstract

This paper attempts to elaborate on the current existence of the Islamic Communication curriculum, particularly Dakwah Journalism as one of the Islamic communication education pillars, either on state or private Islamic universities in Indonesia. Departing from an explanation of the empirical phenomenon of the technological revolution and globalization of communication that brought significant impacts on the communication industry and social-global behavior, this paper wants to criticize backwardness content of DakwahJournalism curriculum that failed to adopt both dynamics as a genial formulation to form new scholar competency of Islamic Communications in the modern world. The curriculum focus for journalism ethical values only shows another fact that there is a weakness in the scientific exploration of the journalism science in Islamic tradition. This paper will be concluded with my analysis for the differences of vision and mission addressed by Islamic Communication Departments (KPI) in PTAI that aggravate the above conditions. This problem represents only one example of the complexity of the problems in the PTAI teaching system amidst of migration policy from IAIN into State Islamic University(UIN). To establish competitive graduates with holistic competency, it is necessary for PTAI managers to develop a new framework, vision, mission, and curriculum content at large. The initiatives can be started by changing the Dakwah Journalism curriculum.

Abstract

Islamic education-both as an institution and subject in public schools-currentlyfacing the serious and complicated challenge, for example the uncertainty ofdichotomiousparadigm. This uncertainty appears influenced strongly by theparadigm of thinking that tends to dualistic-confrontative. A paradigm thatdistinguishes the two things that seem diametrically opposed and potentially causeconflict. In Islamic education discourse, known terminology such as religiouseducation and general education, traditional and modern education, mundane andhereafter education, and so on. So it has an impact on the discussion of the materialon Islamic education that tends to ignore the matters of the mundane, such asscience and technology –that ever mastered by muslims in the heyday of Islamaswell as another matters that actually if we examine the Qur’an as theologicalfoundation, Muslims talk a lot about the cosmology and universality. The newdiscoveries in the field of genetics as a new challenge for the Islamic educationthat still dwell on the issue of teachers professionalism, teaching methodology andfacilities..

Abstract

Several previous studies have examined the ethnomathematical exploration of cultural sites. However, there has been no research specifically exploring the Tugu Pusaka. This study explores the ethnomathematics found in the Pusaka Monument in Selogiri, Wonogiri Regency. Ethnomathematics examines how cultural groups understand and use mathematical concepts. The Pusaka Monument, with its geometric structure, offers numerous aspects for study within this context. The objective of this research is to describe the mathematical concepts present in the Pusaka Monument and to integrate these concepts into mathematics education. The research employs a survey method conducted at the Pusaka Monument site, with purposive sampling to ensure relevance and significance. The study follows a series of steps: literature review, field data collection, and descriptive and factual analysis of findings. Data collection involved observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed qualitatively, focusing on identifying geometric concepts within the monument's structure. This research aims to enhance students' understanding of mathematics through the integration of cultural elements and to promote the preservation of Indonesia's cultural heritage through ethnomathematics. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of a more contextual and culturally-based mathematics curriculum, enriching both mathematical education and cultural awareness among students. Abstract

Internet or Social Network Site is a new media facilitating collective action and a "public sphere" for political and social interactions. The Internet is not only a big marketplace. Blogs, wikis and other social networking sites provide a technological basis for grassroots action to coordinate and communicate. Movement of 1,000,000 Facebookers Supporting Chandra Hamzah and Bibit Samad Riyanto in Indonesia 2009, was launched after the two suspended Corruption Eradication Commission (KFK) officers were arrested on suspicion of abuse of power. This, become an interesting new phenomenon in Indonesia. It is an example of wide spread popular support for the anti corruption leaders and the anti graft movement. My paper aims to explore the development of social media in Indonesia and its contribution to implementation of transparency and anti graft movement. Particularly, the paper will identify the role of Facebook in establishing a non political party, online parliament and the future of it in Indonesia as the democratic moslem country in the world. Many active discussions has been generated along 2000s on the topic of social media and its effect on the formation and mobilization of social and political movement. For example, the emergence of the Coffee Party in US. Since 2009, Facebook in Indonesia has played an important role in politics and its importance was first noticed by KPK case. Since then there has been growth in the role of Facebook in political movements. The power of civil society in the form of Facebookers replaces democratic checks and balance which in the real world should be the function of political parties in Indonesian parliament.

Abstract

Algebraic thinking is important for developing students' mathematical generalization abilities, and identifying patterns, shapes, and symbols. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach that aims to describe the profile of students' algebraic thinking in solving modeling problems. The subjects of this study were 158 fifth-grade students in two private schools in Surakarta, Central Java. The data collection instrument used was six test questions related to the modeling component adopted from Ralston. Prior to use, the instrument was validated by 3 elementary school mathematics learning experts and tested on 10 students who were not the subject of the study. Based on the test results, there were 12 students who scored in the high category. This study focuses on analyzing the algebraic thinking profile of students with high categories. The results showed that high-category subjects were able to demonstrate understanding related to modeling indicators in algebraic thinking, namely understanding the meaning of the equal sign (=) as an equivalence relationship, using variables to solve problems in the form of equations, and understanding the relationships between arithmetic operations. However, a small number of subjects still experience calculation errors and understanding errors in algebraic operations. Hence, it can be concluded that subjects with high categories are able to demonstrate algebraic thinking skills in the modeling component

Abstract

The transformation in the media landscape in Indonesia is underscored by the emergence of digital-centric media entities and a new mode of news production distinctly divergent from traditional journalism. The purpose of this study is to examine the evolving business model of digital journalism, a sector experiencing rapid growth following the advent of the internet, social media, and the consolidation of online journalism since 2010. Employing a qualitative-descriptive method, this research is designed to capture the digital journalism business model in Indonesia's post-traditional print and broadcast media systems. From 2021 to 2023, the authors meticulously observed the contents and management of selected news media outlets, conducted semi-structured interviews, and gathered pertinent documents. The key question of this study centers on the nature of the business model underpinning journalism on digital platforms and its repercussions for the interest of news production and publication. The study reveals that business models for digital news media remain unstandardized, and the ecosystem of platform-based journalism has yet to achieve a healthy climate. From the perspective of digital news consumption, the prevailing culture of gratuitous (free) news culture and the concern of keeping trusted news media pose significant obstacles for news corporations in sustaining their operations.

Abstract

The Pakaan Dajah Village community in Madura has a tradition of inheritance distribution that deviates from the faraid system of Islamic law. In other words, this village has an inheritance distribution system that does not conform to the distribution of inheritance as outlined in Islamic law. This study examines the implementation of customary inheritance from the perspective of legal anthropology and Islamic law using a juridical-empirical and juridical-sociological approach through qualitative methods. Data were collected through literature studies, interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that inheritance distribution is carried out in two ways: during the testator's lifetime through a gift or will, and after the testator's death through deliberation and consensus among the heirs. This tradition tends to divide assets equally without distinction of gender, because men and women are considered to have equal value and roles in the family. This tradition is considered fairer and minimizes conflict, and is deeply rooted in society. Contextually, this inheritance practice can be justified because it is in line with the principle of deliberation and consensus in Islam and can be categorized as takharuj in Hanafi jurisprudence, although under certain conditions, the distribution can still be returned to the faroid system.

Abstract

In Islamic law, there are two views on marital rape: one rejects it because marriage is considered a lifelong consent to sexual relations. At the same time, the other recognizes the possibility of marital rape within a marriage. Unlike UU-PKDRT, marital rape receives strict penalties. This study aims to identify and analyze the legal sanctions for marital rape in UU-PKDRT and Islamic criminal law, compare the sanctions of both laws, and explain the concept of takzir for marital rape. The research method is juridical-normative, using qualitative data and three frameworks: credo theory, legal change, and takzir. The study results show that UU-PKDRT, which includes marital rape, does not contradict Islamic law and therefore should be obeyed by Ulil Amri. The legal sanctions are relevant and in accordance with takzir; sexual relations are a mutual right of husband and wife, and forced sexual relations in marriage are not considered rape but violence that can be sanctioned by takzir; marital rape is not considered rape in Islam because marriage negates fornication; Marital rape in UU-PKDRT is viewed as rape, but in Islamic law, it is only violence that can be sanctioned by takzir after reconciliation efforts. The new theory from this research states that marital rape is violence, not rape.

Abstract

This article discusses about economic empowerment based on home industry to enforce the faith of new Muslim converters in Desa Selat Akar Kepualaun Meranti, Riau. To understand the economic potential of this village, the faith enforcement seems to be more effective when it is done through economic empowerment based on home industry. This resesearch was founded, i.e. To support this, the empowerment uses community based research concept. This research founded i.e. first, doing an evaluation during observation and conducting identification before the empowerment done. Second, this empowerment finds that this a new Muslim group needs physical capital assistance to develop its enterprises. Third, making ‘Lomek’ fish crackers has become an instrument or media among the Muallafs to keep and improve their faith.
