Abstract

Marriage is the right of every Indonesian citizen to form a family and continue offspring. Marriage requires careful preparation of the couple so that the family that is built is of quality and eternal. Unwanted pregnancy (KTD) in adolescents causes early marriage. Early marriage occurs because of the demand for responsibility, so that there is no proper preparation in the couple to build a household. This makes the couple prone to conflict which leads to avoidance. This condition made the researchers conduct a study that aims to describe the emotional regulation of early marriage couples due to unwanted pregnancy (KTD). This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The subjects of this study were five couples who married early due to unwanted pregnancy (KTD) in Banguntapan District, Bantul. The research instrument used interview guidelines regarding emotion regulation. Testing the validity of the data using source triangulation. The data analysis technique used the Milles and Huberman model. The result of the research is that the subject's emotional regulation is not good because when in conflict the subject feels more negative emotions than positive emotions. The negative emotions that are felt are not able to be managed properly, causing avoidance by the four subjects. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Milles and Huberman.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of self-compassion in mental load among high school students. The study employed a quantitative correlational design and involved 262 students from three high schools in Yogyakarta. Data were collected using the Mental Load Scale and the Self-Compassion Scale. Based on the results of this study, both instruments showed adequate validity and reliability as indicated by AVE, Cronbach’s Alpha, and Composite Reliability values. Analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS) based Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4.0. The validity results showed that all aspects had an Average Variance Extracted (AVE) > 0.50, while internal reliability for all aspects was good with Cronbach’s Alpha and Composite Reliability >0.70. The results showed that total self-compassion had a significant role in total mental load (β = 0.133, p < 0.05) and mental load aspects (β = 0.025, p < 0.05). However, total self-compassion also played an indirect role in mental effort aspects through total mental load as a mediator (T-statistic > 1.96, p < 0.05). The R-square values indicate strong predictive ability in most aspects, including the mental load aspect (0.942) and the mental effort aspect (0.936). These findings indicate that students with higher levels of self-compassion tend to cope more adaptively with academic and emotional pressures. Therefore, school-based guidance and counseling services can be utilized to help students manage mental load by strengthening self-compassion through individual or group counseling.

Abstract

The phenomenon of increased emotional sensitivity in adolescents, which is not always balanced with the ability to manage internal experiences, indicates a potential imbalance between empathy and mindfulness in everyday life. Adolescence is an important phase in the formation of self-identity, where the ability to manage internal experiences and emotional responses becomes crucial. Mindfulness plays a role in maintaining emotional balance and the quality of interpersonal relationships, while empathy is the basis for healthy social interactions. This study aims to analyze the relationship between empathy and mindfulness in vocational high school students in Yogyakarta. Using a correlational quantitative approach, the study involved 147 students selected through random sampling. The instruments used were the Empathy Quotient (EQ-40) and the Child and Adolescent Mindfulness Measure (CAMM), which have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the Pearson Product Moment analysis show a significant negative relationship between empathy and all aspects of mindfulness, namely awareness (r = –.686, p < .01), attention (r = –.620, p < .01), nonjudgmentally (r = –.821, p < .01), and mindfulness as a whole (r = –.212, p < .05). These findings indicate that high empathy may be associated with low mindfulness due to empathic distress, thus emphasizing the importance of strengthening emotional regulation and mindfulness skills so that empathy continues to develop adaptively in adolescents.  Further research is recommended using a more controlled methodological approach to capture the complexity of the relationship between empathy and mindfulness in adolescents.

Abstract

Abstract

Low emotional intelligence is a significant problem that hinders the social and academic development of high school students, where conventional guidance methods often fail to engage students effectively. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an innovative group guidance intervention model that uses the Ludo Emosi game media in the Experiential Learning framework to improve students' emotional intelligence. This study used a pre-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design involving eight 11th-grade students with low to moderate levels of emotional intelligence. The intervention was carried out in three structured sessions following Kolb's learning cycle, namely concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. The results showed a statistically significant increase in participants' emotional intelligence scores from before (pretest, M=19.12) to after (posttest, M=51.75), as evidenced by the Paired Samples t-test (t(7) = -15.76, p < 0.001). Furthermore, the N-Gain Score analysis produced a value of 0.80, indicating that the intervention had a practical effectiveness level classified as “High.” These findings demonstrate that a game-based experiential learning approach can effectively improve students' emotional skills and provide a practical, validated intervention model for guidance and counseling teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of digital comic-assisted peace guidance in preventing bullying among high school students. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through a review of scientific articles and books from 2014 to 2025 relevant to the keywords peace, comics, violence, and bullying. The results of the study show that peace guidance with a group guidance model using discussion strategies, role play, and visual media such as film and photography are effective in shaping students' peaceful mindset. Digital comics that contain peace values based on local culture, religion, and inspirational figures, both fiction and non-fiction, have proven to be able to be an educational medium that strengthens students' understanding of the importance of peace and reduces the tendency to violent behavior. This study recommends the use of digital comics as an innovative medium in guidance and counseling services in schools to create a safe and bullying-free learning environment.
