Abstract

Knowledge enhancement is essential for behaviour change, as it increases an individual's awareness of the personal relevance of information. This service focuses on brief training on cadres' knowledge of Child Growth Monitoring (CPM), Child Development Monitoring (CDM), and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF). This service aims to see the increase in knowledge with educational methods. Based on the results of the t test, the P value is 0.004, then the mean value of knowledge before education is 6.38 and increases to 11.52 after education and the standard deviationis 1.73 before education, then decreases to 0.64, which means that at 5% alpha there is a significant difference in improvement between the average knowledge of cadres before and after receiving training. It is hoped that cadres will be given periodic knowledge refreshers on Child Growth Monitoring (IYCF), Child Development Monitoring(PDA), and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), and other additional up-to-date material so that cadres can provide IEC to mothers about preventing stunting. Abstract

Background: Inadequate sanitation is a key contributor to the spread of diseases such as diarrhea, skin infections, and acute respiratory infections (ARI), particularly in rural areas like Pendung Tengah Village, Kerinci Regency. Limited knowledge and unfavorable attitudes toward hygiene exacerbate these conditions. Objective: This study aims to assess the impact of Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) education on improving knowledge and attitudes. Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of STBM education in enhancing sanitation-related awareness and behavior among housewives. Method: A pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted involving 30 randomly selected housewives, using a structured questionnaire and paired t-test analysis. Result: Significant increases were observed in knowledge (from 6.10 to 9.00) and attitudes (from 7.23 to 9.13), with a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Conclusion: STBM education effectively improves sanitation knowledge and attitudes, though sustained efforts are needed for long-term impact. The study hypothesizes that STBM education significantly enhances household sanitation behavior. The novelty lies in empowering rural housewives as key agents of change, showing that targeted, behaviorbased education can be impactful and scalable in low-resource settings.

Abstract

A quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) analysis was conducted on 15 derivatives of 4-hydrazinyl-6-phenylpyrimidine-5-carbonitrile to investigate the relationship between atomic charge and anti-breast cancer activity (MCF-7 cell line) based on experimental log IC₅₀ values. Descriptor data were obtained through AM1 semi-empirical quantum mechanical calculations using HyperChem. A multiple linear regression model with the backward elimination method was employed to establish the quantitative relationship between net atomic charge and log IC₅₀, yielding the following QSAR model: log IC₅₀ = -415.573 − 224.759(qC2) + 175.860(qC5) + 1307.672(qC6) + 1251.123(qC8) + 1142.590(qC9) − 3606.800(qC10) + 3.840(qC13); with n = 15, R = 0.899, R² = 0.808, Fₒ/Fₜ = 1.002, and PRESS = 0.043. The results indicate a statistically significant correlation between atomic charge and biological activity.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Scabies is a skin disease caused by Sarcoptes scabei Var hominis. This disease commonly occurs in tropical countries with densely populated areas and low economic conditions. This study aims to determine the relationship between environmental sanitation conditions and personal hygiene factors towards the symptoms of scabies in Darul Hikam Islamic Boarding School, Rimbo Ulu Sub-district, Tebo District. This observational study used a cross-sectional design. This study used an observational method with a cross-sectional design, population as many as 400 respondents and sample as many as 63 respondents taken by proportionate strafied random sampling. The results of this study showed that 71.4% of respondents experienced symptoms of scabies; 93.7% of the respondent provided clean water facilities that met the requirements; 66.7% of residential density did not meet the requirements; 50.8% of the ventilation area did not meet the requirements; 71.4% of the respondent showed poor skin hygiene; 61.9% of the respondent showed poor towel hygiene; and 55.6% of the respondent showed poor mattress and bed sheet hygiene. The analysis indicates a relationship between residential density (p=0.008), ventilation area (p=0.000), skin cleanliness (p=0.038), towel cleanliness (0.036), and mattress and bed sheet cleanliness (p=0.049) with symptoms of scabies at Darul Hikam Islamic Boarding School. Residential density, ventilation area, skin cleanliness, towel cleanliness, and mattress and bed sheet cleanliness are related to scabies symptoms, while the provision of clean water facilities is not related. Abstract

Foodborne disease refers to a condition when the body is affected by microbial toxins or substances that enter through the consumption of food. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that around 1 in 10 individuals worldwide fall ill and experience 420,000 fatalities annually due to foodborne illnesses or food poisoning. Additionally, these incidents result in a loss of 33 million years of healthy life each year. The objective of the study is to assess the ambient and personal hygiene conditions and their impact on the presence of harmful microorganisms in food during culinary excursions in Kanggano Rajo. This study was employed a quantitative research approach with a descriptive design and a cross-sectional research design. The study population consists of 101 individuals engaged in the street vendors culinary items during the Culinary Tour of Tanggo Rajo. The findings indicated that 68.5% of the respondents needed to fulfill their hygiene preferences. Additionally, study was reported unsuitable environmental sanitation conditions, 57.4% reported inadequate water condition, 77.8% reported improper waste handling, 81.5% reported inadequate waste disposal, and 100% reported insufficient vector control. The microbiological test results revealed the presence of Enterobacter Hafniae in 2 samples, enterobacter aerogenes in 16 samples, and Klebsiella Azaenae in 36 samples. Empowering and enhancing education in all critical sectors is advisable while ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation.
