Abstract

The purpose of this workshop was to enhance educators’ understanding and skills in designing and implementing assessment integrated with the principles and learning experiences of the deep learning approach in early childhood education (ECE). The workshop employed an andragogical approach, facilitated discussions, case studies, simulations, and hands-on practice grounded in local contexts. In this approach, assessment is positioned not merely as a measurement tool, but as an integral part of the child’s learning process. Participants included academics, supervisors, school principals, and ECE teachers. The results indicate that formative assessments (Assessment for Learning and Assessment as Learning) and summative assessment (Assessment of Learning) contextually support children's core learning experiences: understanding, applying, and reflecting. Assessment practices were carried out through systematic observation, portfolios, guided reflection, and project-based documentation. Findings highlight the importance of aligning assessment with meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning principles, and of cross-role collaboration in planning and implementation. This article recommends teacher training, the development of context-based assessment guidelines, the strengthening of professional learning communities, and the integration of digital support to promote reflective and child-centered assessment practices

Abstract

The city of Banda Aceh has experienced significant development in building infrastructure, particularly in the proliferation of coffee shops. Many open spaces have been repurposed into coffee shops, and this transformation has also brought significant changes to the function and form of the traditional Acehnese house, Acehnese House (Rumoeh Aceh), which is now being repurposed into commercial spaces such as coffee shops. This transformation affects both the function and meaning of the buildings in response to evolving needs.  This study aims to examine characteristics of traditional Acehnese architecture as applied to coffee shops in Banda Aceh. The analysis is based on Hadjad’s theoretical framework, which assesses the characteristics of traditional Acehnese architecture through 12 elements: stilted structure, roof, columns, walls, space, under floor space, openings, ornaments, orientation, house height, color, and materials. The results of the study show that these coffee shops have retained core elements of Rumoh Aceh, such as the stilted house form, wooden materials, and traditional ornaments, despite undergoing design and functional adaptations for commercial purposes. This study highlights that the application of traditional architecture in public spaces can serve as a medium for cultural education while strengthening local identity amidst the wave of modernization.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan UKM adalah upaya yang dilakukan Pemerintah, Pemerintah Daerah, Dunia Usaha, dan masyarakat secara sinergis dalam bentuk penumbuhan iklim dan pengembangan usaha terhadap UMKM, sehingga mampu tumbuh dan berkembang menjadi usaha yang tangguh dan mandiri. Dua kelompok UMKM yang sudah beroperasi di Kecamatan Simo adalah UMKM Balung Kethek dan UMKM Keripik Belut dan Singkong. Kelompok Usaha yang terdiri dari ibu-ibu rumah tangga ini cukup menggeliat seiring dengan adannya media sosial yang dapat digunakan sebagai sarana untuk meningkatkan omset penjualan. Namun, kemampuan para ibu rumah tangga ini sangat terbatas dalam pengelolaan usahanya, terbukti dengan minimnya pengetahuan mereka tentang manajemen dan keuangan bisnis, termasuk pengetahuan tentang sumber-sumber permodalan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mencari model pemberdayaan UKM yang memanfaatkan alokasi Dana Desa. Dalam pelaksanaanya, pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu melakukan observasi ke beberapa UMKM di wilayah Kecamatan Simo, Kabupaten Boyolali. Selanjutnya dilakukan Focus Discussion Group. FGD ini bertujuan untuk mencari model pemberdayaan UKM yang sesuai dengan kondisi masyarakat perdesaan dengan memanfatkan sumber pembiayaan berbasis dana desa. Hasil FGD yang dilakukan dengan mengundang berbagai kalangan termasuk dari Dinas Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Desa (Dispermasdes) menyimpulkan bahwa pemberdayaan UKM berbasis Dana Desa hanya dapat dilakukan apabila UMKM didirikan oleh masyarakat yang berbasis pada komunitas, seperti Komunitas Petani, komunitas Majelis Taklim, Komunitan Seniman dan lain-lain. Dengan kata lain, pemberdayaan UKM yang berbasis dana desa hanya dapat dilakukan dengan pembentukan Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE). Tahapan pengabdian berikutnya adalah sosialisasi manajemen pemasaran berbasis digital atau Digital marketing, sistem akuntansi sederhana, dan sosialisasi prosedur pengajuan sertifikasi halal.

Abstract

Salah satu kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) di Universitas Pamulang adalah membuat gerakan kepedulian terhadap masyarakat. Mitra kegiatan PKM yaitu masyarakat kelurahan Benda Baru di RT 03 RW 09 yang diwujudkan dalam bentuk sosialisasi potensi sampah sebagai sumber daya serta pembagian paket sembako kepada masyarakat kecil dan pekerja informal seperti driver ojek online, pelaku UMKM, hingga tunawisma di sekitaran wilayah RT 03 RW 09 Kelurahan Benda Baru Kecamatan Pamulang Kota Tangerang Selatan. Persoalan yang dihadapi adalah Pengelola sampah kota cenderung kurang memberikan perhatian yang serius pada TPA tersebut, sehingga muncullah kasus-kasus kegagalan TPA. Berdasarkan permasalahan di atas maka Tim PKM (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) Dosen Universitas Pamulang telah bekerjasama dengan Aksa Sahwahita Anodya Foundation dan kader posyandu setempat membuat gerakan kepedulian terhadap masyarakat kelurahan Benda Baru di RT 03 RW 09 yang diwujudkan dalam bentuk sosialisasi potensi sampah sebagai sumber daya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui dua tahap yaitu pra kegiatan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan. Secara umum kegiatan PKM dapat terlaksana dengan baik dan kondusif walau di tengah pandemi covid 19, Kegiatan PKM ini mendapat sambutan dan dukungan positif dan dari masyarakat Rt 03 Rw 09 Kelurahan Pondok Benda, dari segi tempat, sarana prasarana dan akomodasi, serta antusiasme para peserta.

Abstract

Muscle overuse during exercise increases the risk of muscle injury. L-citrulline, one of the ergogenic substances highly found in watermelon, is frequently used to reduce muscle soreness. This study aimed to compare the effects of pure L-citrulline and watermelon juice in reducing delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and muscle damage using uric acid as a marker for inflammation. A single-blind controlled trial was employed among 33 participants selected with a purposive sampling method. The participants were given either a mineral water drink containing 1.2 g of L-citrulline supplementation, 750 ml of watermelon juice, or a bottle of mineral water as a placebo administered 2-h before exercise. A multiple-sprint with a deceleration phase was used to induce DOMS. There was a significant decrease of DOMS 12 h and 24 h post-exercise with watermelon juice and pure L-citrulline (p=0.001). However, there was no significant difference in effectiveness between both forms of supplementation (p = 0.748). There were no significant changes in uric acid levels post-exercise with both forms of supplementation. Both watermelon juice and pure L-citrulline show similar effectiveness in improving subjective feelings of DOMS but fail to provide evidence of their ability to reduce muscle inflammation significantly via the reduction of uric acid levels.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Oxidative stress and inflammation contribute to pancreatic cell dysfunction that promote insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes (T2D). Red rice bran contains bioactive substances with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which improved insulin resistance in obese mice. However, no studies have explored the potential of ethanol extract of red rice bran (EERRB) to prevent T2D progression, particularly pancreatic fibrosis complications. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of EERRB on inflammation measured with interleukin (IL)-1β and fibrosis of pancreatic tissue in a rat model of T2D. METHODS: Rats were induced with streptozotocin and nicotinamide to induce diabetes, and then separated into five groups. One group received no treatment, while the other four received 9 mg/kg/day acarbose, 165, 330, or 660 mg/kg/day EERRB orally for 21 days. Immunohistochemistry was conducted on pancreas tissues to measure the expression of IL-1β, while pancreatic fibrosis was assessed with Masson’s Trichrome staining.RESULTS: EERRB reduced the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokine, IL-1β, in pancreas tissue in a dose dependent manner. Significantly lower IL-1β expression were found in group receiving 660 mg/kg/day EERRB (10%) compared to diabetic with no treatment group (50%) (p<0.0001). Additionally, the IL-1β expression in the highest dose of EERRB group was comparable to the group receiving acarbose (10%). CONCLUSION: This finding suggests the beneficial effect of EERRB in the hyperglycemic condition that causes oxidative stress through blocking the IL-1β expression, hence alleviating the inflammation in pancreas tissue, and have a tendency in preventing pancreatic fibrosis progression, a process implicated in T2D pathogenesis. KEYWORDS: diabetes, inflammation, pancreatic fibrosis, red rice bran

Abstract

This study aims to develop educational play equipment (APE) made from recycled materials as a learning medium that can support the language development of early childhood at Pembina 2 Pekanbaru State Kindergarten. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall development model. The resulting product is a learning medium made from recycled materials designed to stimulate children's language skills. The results of the study indicate that this learning medium is considered feasible and practical for use by experts, teachers, and students. These findings confirm that the recycled material-based media developed is effective in supporting the improvement of early childhood language skills while instilling the values ​​of creativity and environmental awareness

Abstract

Coping learning is critical for fostering children's ability to cope with their problems. This study explored the issues and requirements for creating a training model for coping learning in kindergartens in Yogyakarta. Following Borg and Gall's exploration stage of the research and development approach, this research analyzed four (4) principals' and five (5) educators' input. During the exploration stage, data on coping learning was collected through observations and interviews. Interactive analysis was employed as the data analysis technique.  The findings revealed some issues, specifically: 1) educators lack the necessary knowledge and skills to implement coping learning effectively, 2) the lack of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for coping learning resulted in a haphazard approach to its implementation, 3) educators have limited knowledge and ability to manage children's emotional and behavioral problems, 4)  insufficient coping-based learning resources, and 5) certain parenting practices prevent children from developing coping skills. The needs assessment results will then be used to create a training model, which will then be submitted for expert judgment and field testing to determine its effectiveness.

Abstract

Maraknya kasus pelecehan seksual yang melibatkan anak makin meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pendidikan seksual yang dimulai sejak dini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan strategi guru dalam mengajarkan pendidikan seks untuk anak dan kenadalanya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dengan menggunakan media google form. Populasi pengambilan data yaitu guru TK di   Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 67 guru yang berada di wilayah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam mengajarkan pendidikan seks untuk anak, guru paling banyak menggunakan metode bercerita (43,3%) dan metode bernyanyi (29,9%), dengan  media boneka dan video sebagai yang umum dipakai. Sebanyak 89,6% guru sudah melibatkan partisipasi orangtua dalam mengajarkan pendidikan seks. Adapun kendalanya yaitu guru kesulitan untuk menemukan media dan menemukan strategi komunikasi yang tepat untuk menyampaikan materi agar anak-anak mudah memahami materi pendidikan seks. Sehingga guru merasa perlu diadakannya pelatihan pembuatan media yang mendukung materi pendidikan seks anak usia dini dan strategi konkrit tentang contoh pertanyaan dan cara menjawab pertanyaan anak mengenai pendidikan seks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran  "Taman Budaya" sebagai sarana pengembangan nilai moral dan karakter peserta didik di SDN 2 Kalikebo. Program ini dirancang untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai moral seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, gotong royong, toleransi, dan disiplin melalui pendekatan berbasis budaya yang terintegrasi dalam pembelajaran dan kegiatan sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan guru dan siswa, serta dokumentasi kegiatan yang terkait dengan pelaksanaan Taman Budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Taman Budaya memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan dalam pengembangan karakter siswa. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya nilai moral dan membantu mereka untuk lebih disiplin, toleran, serta mampu bekerja sama dalam kelompok. Guru dan pihak sekolah berperan aktif sebagai fasilitator dan teladan, sementara keterlibatan orang tua dan masyarakat turut mendukung keberhasilan program ini. Kesimpulannya, Taman Budaya merupakan sarana yang efektif untuk membentuk peserta didik yang tidak hanya unggul secara akademik tetapi juga berakhlak mulia, menjadikannya model yang layak diterapkan di sekolah lain.
