Abstract

Introduction : ICE syndrome is a unique ophthalmic disorder that involves an iris atrophy, irregular corneal oedema, and secondary angle-closure mainly occurs unilaterally in young and middle-aged women, with no family history. Approximately 50% of ICE syndrome patients will later develop secondary angle closure glaucoma. The following case report presents a patient with essential iris atrophy and secondary angle closure glaucoma. Case Illustration : A 50 year old woman presented with painful and redness of the right eye (RE) since 1 week. Her visual acuity was 6/40 of RE and 6/30 of left eye (LE). Her intraocular pressure (IOP) was 61,3 mmHg and 19 mmHg for the RE and LE. On the slit lamp, we had a proper RE finding, the iris atrophy with deformity in the direction from 12 to 6 hours, with minimal corneal edema. We performed gonioscopy, fundus photographs and papillary optical coherence tomography. The patient was diagnosed with ICE syndrome with essential iris atrophy type and secondary angle closure glaucoma then was given anti glaucoma agents.DiscussionICE syndrome treatments focus on managing the corneal edema and secondary glaucoma. We treated our patient with maximal oral and topical combination therapy such as carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, beta blockers, cholinergic, prostaglandin analogs for 6 months the IOP and corneal oedema were well maintained. However, maintaining long term success can be challenging, surgical therapy with a filtering procedure can be considered if the IOP is uncontrolled. Conclusion : We confirmed the diagnosis of essential iris atrophy based on its clinical findings and abnormalities in complementary exams.

Abstract

The concept of integration between religion and culture is capable of producing new religious mosaics with local characteristics. As is the case with the Baayun Mulud Tradition from the Banjar Tribe, from a cultural context, the Baayun Mulud Tradition is a religious practice that is thick with the integration of Islamic values. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and literature based on relevant studies. The results of this study indicate that there is integration between religion and culture in the Baayun Mulud Tradition. The presence of Islam was able to change traditions that were originally closely related to the spirit of the unseen world into traditions that have Islamic elements, such as reciting shalawat poems addressed to the Prophet Muhammad. Meanwhile, culture is a form of practice for several Islamic values.

Abstract

To increase regional fiscal independence and achieve regional development goals in the Eastern Indonesia (KTI) in the era of fiscal decentralization, own-source revenue (PAD) is one source of regional revenue that is important to optimize based on regional economic potential. Thus, this research aims to analyze the leading subsectors and the influence on provincial PAD in KTI with archipelagic characteristics in 2015 – 2023. By overlaying location quotient and shift share analysis, eight leading subsectors in KTI with archipelagic characteristics were obtained. Next, the seven leading subsectors outside the public administration and defence, compulsory social security subsector analyzed by panel data regression with a fixed effect model, state that the five leading subsectors including crop and animal production, hunting and related service activities; fishing and aquaculture; other mining and quarrying; construction; and education have a significant effect, while the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles and the air transport do not have a significant effect on the provincial PAD in KTI with archipelagic characteristics in 2015 - 2023. Therefore, the provincial government is expected to prioritize leading subsectors that have a significant positive influence to be developed in optimizing the provincial PAD in KTI with archipelagic characteristics.
