Abstract

This quantitative descriptive study uses the ARIMA model approach to predict groundwater river water availability. It assesses its valuation with an econophysics orientation in the Leang Lonrong Cave area of TN Bantimurung Bulusaraung. Secondary data from 2010-2023, including Water Discharge and Water Level data from the River Basin Center of Pompengan Jeneberang (BBWS) and primary data on the Valuation of Willingness to Pay, were utilized. The analysis reveals that water discharge predictions (2024-2030) in the Gua Leang Lonrong area indicate consistent annual water availability, with the highest discharge projected in December 2030 (5.08 m3/s) and the lowest in September 2024 (1.12 m3/s). Valuation of utilizing Leang Lonrong River water through willingness to pay showed residents willing to pay Rp 42,142.85/month for clean water management. At the same time, visitors are willing to contribute Rp 21,596.77/visit to enhance water quality management. Elasticity analysis modeling water discharge with willingness to pay suggests a relatively elastic relationship, with a minor impact, indicating unresponsiveness to changes in water discharge percentages. Statistical and economic methods were employed to analyze daily water discharge patterns and evaluate residents' willingness to pay for underground river water utilization. The ARIMA model (0,1,1) forecasted future water discharge patterns with a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 33.7%. The study surveyed 62 respondents, finding an average willingness to pay approximately IDR 21,596.77 per visit to maintain Leang Lonrong River water quality management.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyse the occurrence of extreme rainfall and the dynamics of the atmosphere prior to the occurrence of extreme rainfall and flood events in South Sulawesi during September-October-November (South Sulawesi’s dry season). The data used is daily data for the period 2001-2020. Using 50 mm/day and the 90th percentile rainfall threshold of 119 rain stations distributed over 24 regencies, extreme rainfall events in each region were identified. Furthermore, after screening for extreme rainfall events followed by flood events, a composite analysis was carried out to obtain patterns of atmospheric conditions before the extreme rainfall events. The results of the study confirm that spatially, the highest extreme rainfall indices values dominate in the western and northern regions of South Sulawesi, both frequency and intensity indicators. Flood events in South Sulawesi during September-October-November 2001-2020 were recorded as 23 days, of which 19 days were the flood events after extreme rainfall events. The dynamics of the atmosphere before the extreme rainfall event followed by the flood event showed anomalies in precipitable water, 850 mb winds, and 200 mb winds. An increase in the amount of precipitable water and a wind speed of 850 mb, as well as a decrease in wind speed of 250 mb compared to normal in the South Sulawesi region and its surroundings, has resulted in an increase in the formation of rain clouds that have the potential to increase the chance of extreme rainfall.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the components of the Saoraja Lapinceng traditional house which can be used as a rigid body equilibrium material. The type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation were analyzed by data reduction, data display, and verification/conclusion drawing. The results showed (1) Supporting poles (Aliri’) which can be used as a center of gravity material, the center of gravity of the house is called posi bola which has the meaning of the center of everything, according to the calculation of the house weight point is located at G = (11.75m); (5,5 m); (2,5 m). (2) Foundations (Pallangga) are used as material for the inertia moment of rigid body with a rectangular shape following the philosophy of Sulapa appa, Inertia moment of pallangga is I= 416,67 (3) Pattolo’ and Arateng can be used as examples of rigid body equilibrium of cantilever beams, the results of the analysis are known that pattolo' and arateng have the following equilibrium equations Στ=2,5FA−0,12mg=0, (4) Stairs (Addengeng) can be used as an example of rigid body equilibrium on a ladder, The stairs have an angle of 40° which is the ideal angle for stairs and have the following equilibrium equations Στ= 3 mg− 0,2 FA =0, (5) Timpa’ Lajja can be used as an example for understanding the concept of a force moment which has a slope angle of 30̊ and signifies a sign of balusu power, namely tellu boccoe, force moment of timpa’ lajja is τ ⃗=0,5 F ⃗.Keywords: physics learning, equilibrium of rigid bodies, local wisdom.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v24i1.pp98-113

Abstract

This research is ex-post facto research that aims to determine the correlation between assertive physics teachers' teaching style and physics learning achievements of high school students in Kabupaten Soppeng. The population in this research were students of XI MIPA in SMA Negeri in Soppeng, while the samples based on Proportional Random Sampling technique was 269 students. The research instrument was Teaching Style questionnaire and archive documentation of students' grades recap. Validation of the instrument using Gregory validity test, empirical validation and reliability test. The results showed the physics teacher used assertive teaching style with 85.50% while the student learning achievements were in high category with average of 86. From the analysis product moment correlation test results, the rcount value was 0.276 which was greater than the r table, 0.138 at a significance level of 5% thus the conclusion was assertive teaching style of physics teachers affects students' physics learning achievements. Keywords: teaching style, assertive teaching style, learning outcomes DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i3.pp968-983

Abstract

La Nina merupakan kejadian anomali atmosfer secara global, saat terjadi la nina yang bersamaan dengan musim hujan memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap aktivitas konvektif dan konvergensi. Sulawesi Selatan mempunyai pesisir, dataran tinggi dan terdapat teluk Bone, mempunyai aktivitas konvektif dan konvergensi yang juga berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi pola aktifitas konvektif berdasarkan indeks konvektif dan nilai konvergensi secara temporal dan spasial pada saat periode La Nina dan normal. Data indeks konvektif dari data satelit dan konvergensi angin permukaan, dilakukan pengolahan berdasarkan musiman DJF, MAM, JJA, dan SON serta harian pagi, siang, malam, dan dini hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai konvekstif dan konvergensi saat periode la Nina dan normal musim serta harian mempunyai pola yang sama, yang mebedakan adalah nilai Ic. Aktifitas konvektif kuat terjadi di musim MAM dengan Ic > 30 K, selain itu daratan bagian utara terjadi pola aktivitas konvektif dan konvergensi sepanjang musim, diakibatkan dari topografi pegunungan dan terdapat teluk. Pola sebaran konvektif dan konvergensi di perairan terjadi di pagi dan dini hari (pukul 08.00 dan 02.00 WITA), di darat terjadi di siang hari dan malam hari (pukul 14.00 dan 20.00 WITA), hal ini diakibatkan kuatnya aktifitas angin darat dan angin laut yang menyebabkan perbedaan sebaran konvektif dan konvergensi.

Abstract

Indeks stabilitas memiliki nilai ambang batas dan akurasi nilai ambang batas yang beragam terhadap prakiraan terjadinya awan Cb dan thunderstorm di tiap wilayah, sehingga dengan kondisi tersebut indeks stabilitas sangat menarik untuk dikaji tak terkecuali di Bandara Internasional Sultan Hasanuddin. Indeks stabilitas sangat beragam jenisnya, namun yang umum digunakan dalam memprakirakan terjadinya awan Cb dan thunderstorm adalah SI, LI, TTI, SWEAT, KI, dan CAPE. Pada penelitian ini, ambang batas indeks stabilitas terhadap kejadian awan Cb dan thunderstorm hampir identik satu sama lain dengan bulan Desember merupakan bulan dengan ambang batas terendah dan tertinggi bagi tiap-tiap indeks stabilitas terhadap kejadian awan Cb dan thunderstorm. Akurasi ambang batas indeks stabilitas terhadap kejadian awan Cb lebih baik dibandingkan akurasi ambang batas indeks stabilitas terhadap kejadian thunderstorm yang disebabkan oleh awan Cb yang muncul di suatu wilayah belum tentu menghasilkan thunderstorm namun ketika thunderstorm terjadi di suatu wilayah maka thunderstorm tersebut disebabkan oleh adanya awan Cb.

Abstract

Sistem konvektif Cumulonimbus merupakan kumpulan awan yang terdiri dari awan Cumulonimbus dan awan awan lain yang membentuk sebuah sistem, yang dapat menimbulkan cuaca signifikan. Karakteristik fisis dan dinamis Cumulonimbus diperoleh menggunakan radar cuaca C-Band pada musim peralihan dan musim hujan September hingga Februari 2016 – 2022, berpusat pada radius 150 km di sekitar Bandara Internasional Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar. Sembilan tipe morfologi sistem konvektif meso-β ditemukan dengan panjang awan 20-220 km dan panjang rata-rata awan 65 km. Sistem konvektif dominan membentuk sistem linier. Morfologi yang paling banyak terbentuk adalah sistem linier Trailing Stratiform, dan sistem seluler Cluster of Cells. Pada musim peralihan, inisiasi Cumulonimbus dominan di dataran tinggi dan pada musim hujan inisiasi dominan di laut pesisir. Secara umum Cumulonimbus matang di laut pesisir pada siang hari. Cluster of Cells dan Bow Echo adalah sistem yang paling aktif di darat, dengan windshear yang relatif lebih kuat dari semua sistem konvektif. Sistem sebagian besar berpropagasi dengan lambat. Vertical wind shear paling besar terjadi pada lapisan 0,3 – 2 km. Verifikasi dari media massa dan laporan pilot menunjukkan bahwa Cumulonimbus dapat menyebabkan bencana hidrometeorologi dan mengganggu penerbangan.

Abstract

The impact of climate change has emerged as a strategic issue threatening the national interests and environment, particularly in the context of Tana Toraja in the tropical region of Indonesia. The process of climate change, influenced by both natural factors and human activities, has led to a global increase in temperatures and climate anomalies. The risks of natural disasters, especially those related to rainfall such as floods, landslides, and the spread of diseases, are on the rise. The Indonesian government needs to design region development strategies with low greenhouse gas emissions and control deforestation. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method and utilizes data from the Pongtiku Toraja Meteorological Station from 2000 to 2019 to analyze the patterns of climate change and the impact of the El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) in Tana Toraja. The research findings indicate a decrease in the annual average air temperature, an increase in air humidity, and a shift in rainfall patterns towards an equatorial climate type. The impact of ENSO on air temperature, humidity, and rainfall is variable. Predictions suggest a decrease in rainfall, but combined analyses show an average increase of 4.5% per year until 2029. This conclusion provides a holistic overview of climate dynamics in Tana Toraja, crucial for understanding and planning adaptation for the future.

Abstract

Research has been conducted to map flood-prone zones in North Luwu Regency by considering rainfall parameters, soil type, slope, land use, geology, drainage density, road density distance and elevation. The method used in this research is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method integrated with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The purpose of this research is to determine how much each parameter contributes to flood risk and visualize the results in the form of flood-prone maps. The results in this study show that rainfall has the biggest cause of flood risk at 0.30, followed by slope 0.20, land use 0.13, elevation at 0.12, drainage density 0.09, geology 0.07, soil type 0.05, and distance between roads at 0.04. All parameters that have been analyzed, then weighted overlay into a flood-prone map. The mapping results show that North Luwu Regency has a moderate level of flood risk, with an area coverage of 3.813 km2 or 50,78% of the total area. As for the vulnerable level category, it covers an area of 17,48 km2 or 23,28%, and for the moderately vulnerable zone level category it covers an area of 1.939 km2 or 25,82% of the total area.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan perempuan terkhusus ibu rumah tangga merupakan proses yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sehingga dapat mengambil peran yang lebih aktif dan setara dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk bidang ekonomi. Salah satu cara yang dilakukan dalam upaya pemberdayaan ibu-ibu rumah tangga yaitu melaksanakan pelatihan pembuatan aneka bakery untuk meningkatkan minat wirausaha. Peserta pelatihan yaitu ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang tergabung dalam kelompok Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) Desa Tammerodo. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di Kantor Desa Tammerodo dengan jumlah peserta pelatihan berjumlah 50 orang. Pengabdian dilaksanakan melalui berbagai tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Aktivitas pelatihan mencakup pengenalan bahan dan alat, demonstrasi dan praktik, cara pemanggangan, dan penyajian. Peserta berpartisipasi aktif dan antusias dalam setiap rangkaian aktivitas pelatihan. Antusias peserta ditunjukkan melalui peran aktif pada setiap proses pelatihan, mulai dari pembukaan hingga tahap evaluasi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa ibu-ibu peserta mampu menghasilkan bakery yang menarik dengan beragam variasi bentuk. Pelaksanaan pelatihan ini dinyatakan berhasil berdasarkan indikator keberhasilan, mencakup mitra memiliki pengetahuan mengenai bahan dan alat yang digunakan dalam pembuatan bakery, memahami tahap-tahap pengolahan, memahami cara pemanggangan yang tepat, dan memahami cara penyajian yang menarik.
