Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2012 states that 260 million or about 5.3% of the world's population was deaf. Ninety-one percent of them were adults and the rest were children. 20-30% of deafness can be triggered by noise which usually occurs in industrial workers. The impact of persistent noise can have temporary or permanent deafness. The aims of this research was to determined the effect of noise and work period to Hearing Threshold Value (HTV).Methods of this research used analytic observational (cross sectional approach). The population of research was textile industrial workers in PT. Iskandar Indah Printing Textile Surakarta. Sampling using cluster random sampling technique. Inclusion criteria: minimum 1 year working life, over 20 years of age, lack of discipline using ear protection. The number determination of samples used the difference formula average of two groups, then the number of subjects = 180 people.In this research noise intensity 66,8-98,4 dBA, mean of worker HTV with work period less than 10 years 29,8 dB, mean of worker HTV with work period more than 10 year 38,3 dB. The result of statistical test by Ancova Test, the noise effect on THV (F = 23,254; p = 0,018), influence of worked period to THV (F = 96,599, p = 0,000), and jointly noise and work period effect on THV (F = 65,507; p = 0,000). Long exposure to noise will increase Hearing Threshold Value of labor.  Keywords: Noise, Work Period, Hearing Threshold Value

Abstract

A research on mangrove forest at coast Cengkrong in the village of Karanggandu aimed at defining zoning and composition of magrove vegetation. The sampling method consists of 3 zoning. Each zone established 3 plots, consists of 10 m x10 m plot size of trees category, 5 m x 5 m of stake category, and 1 m x 1 m of seedling category to repeat in 3 times. Data analysis of mangrove vegetation employed Improtance Value Indeks (IVI). The research results found 12 mangrove species namely Avicennia alba, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Bruguiera parviflora, Ceriops decandra, Ceriops tagal, Lumnitczera racemosa, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Sonneratia alba, Sonneratia caseolaris, Xylocarpus granatum Nypa fruticans. Reffering to the the mangrove zonation indicates the zone I or open zone grows Sonneratia alba and it can be found Rhizophora mucronata, Ceriops decandra with salinity of 6 ppt. Zone II or middle zone grows species of Avicennia alba and it also be found Sonneratia alba, Xylocarpus granatum with salinity of 6 ppt. Zone III or zone that is closer to the landward grows species Xylocarpus granatum and also appears Lumnitzera racemosa,Bruguiera parviflora with salinity of 4 ppt. It showed that the formation of mangrove zonation at Coast Cengkrong is still categorized as less stable, due to rehabilitation since 2002 were done without understanding the type of site suitability and natural factors which causes the fruits drop when the tides of sea water, so that the growth is not stable.

Abstract

Citra resolusi tinggi Sentinel 2A merupakan salah satu media untuk menilai kerapatan vegetasi kawasan perkotaan. Kecamatan Laweyan merupakan kawasan urban Surakarta dengan ragam dan intensitas kegiatan antropogenik tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan tutupan vegetasi Kecamatan Laweyan sebagai data dasar penentuan kebijakan ruang terbuka hijau untuk penyeimbang aktivitas antropogenik pada kawasan urban. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode penginderaan jauh untuk menentukan nilai NDVI dengan menggunakan software ENVI 5.3 dan ArcMap 10.4. Data perekaman citra Sentenel 2A pada tanngal 7 Agustus 2017. Sampel yang digunakan sejumlah 30 titik dan survei lapangan dilaksankan pada 24 Desember 2017. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan rentang NDVI -0,15 hingga 0,7 di Kecamatan Laweyan. Distribusi NDVI terbesar adalah pada rentang nilai 0,11 – 0,2 yang merujuk pada kategori vegetasi rendah dengan komposisi mencapai 31,3 %. Tingkatketelitian interpretasi NDVI dalam penelitian ini mencapai 83,2%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rendahnya ketersediaan ruang terbuka hijau Kecamatan Laweyan yang mengindikasikan kurangnya daya dukung lingkungan biotik untuk menanggulangi dampak aktivitas antropogenik perkotaan.

Abstract

Noise exposure is often found in the industrial environment that exposed workers at risk for increasing blood pressure. This study aimed at investigating the association between noise level, duration of noise exposure, age, use of earplugs, and body mass index with blood pressure on textile industry workers. An observational study with the cross-sectional design conducted during August to October 2016. The study population was 180 textile industry workers in Surakarta selected by consecutive sampling method. Statistical analysis used was multiple logistic regression. Results showed that variables associated with systolic blood pressure were the use of earplugs (OR=12.7), noise level (OR=7.2), body mass index (OR=5.3), age (OR=4.4) and duration of noise exposure (OR=3.5). Variables associated with diastolic blood pressure were the use of earplugs (OR=6.9), age (OR=6.6), noise level (OR=6.1), body mass index (OR=4.4), and duration of noise exposure (OR=3.1). In clonclusion, the risk factors for blood pressure increased among industrial workers are the use of earplug, noise level, body mass index, age and duration of noise exposure.ASOSIASI ANTARA FAKTOR RISIKO DAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA PEKERJA INDUSTRI TEKSTILPaparan kebisingan yang mengekspos pekerja sering ditemukan di lingkungan industri sehingga berisiko terjadi peningkatan tekanan darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan tingkat kebisingan, durasi paparan kebisingan, usia, penggunaan sumbat telinga, dan indeks massa tubuh dengan tekanan darah pada pekerja industri tekstil. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis observasional dengan desain cross-sectional yang dilakukan pada bulan Agustus–Oktober 2016. Populasi penelitian adalah pekerja industri tekstil di Surakarta. Terpilih 180 orang pekerja dengan menggunakan metode sampling konsekutif. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah regresi logistik berganda. Variabel yang berhubungan dengan tekanan darah sistole adalah penggunaan sumbat telinga (OR=12,7), tingkat kebisingan (OR=7,2), indeks massa tubuh (OR=5,3), usia (OR=4,4), dan durasi paparan kebisingan (OR=3,5). Variabel yang terkait dengan tekanan darah diastole adalah penggunaan sumbat telinga (OR=6,9), usia (OR=6,6), tingkat kebisingan (OR=6,1), indeks massa tubuh (OR=4,4), dan durasi paparan kebisingan (OR=3,1). Simpulan, faktor risiko peningkatan tekanan darah di kalangan pekerja industri tekstil adalah penggunaan sumbat telinga, tingkat kebisingan, indeks massa tubuh, usia, dan durasi paparan kebisingan.

Abstract

Piyungan landfill is the biggest landfill in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, which receives municipal solid waste (MSW) from two districts and a city, while its designed service time has been over and faces operational obstacles. Meanwhile, the volume of the MSW grows rapidly and exceeds the reduction rate in their sources. The difficulty in finding a new landfill area is the reason why appropriate technological alternatives in the MSW management are strongly needed. Therefore, the study aimed to evaluate the social and economic aspects and formulate appropriate technology based on the waste entrepreneurship (wastepreneurship) concept. The methods of this study were conducting calculation of waste characteristics and composition, social evaluation, and economic evaluation of the combination of composting, incinerator, and sanitary landfill. Waste characteristics and composition were taken using direct field measurement following Indonesia's National Standard Guideline about retrieving and measuring examples of urban waste emergence and composition. Characteristics of waste are used for the calculation of calorific value and energy. The social evaluation was conducted using an in-depth interview with the rag pickers. The economic evaluation was conducted using net present value, internal rate of return, and payback period. The result of the study shows that Piyungan Landfill with total combustion waste reach 82.22% has the potential of incinerator implementation. In social evaluation, the implementation of composting and incinerator technologies would open employment for the surrounding community and rag pickers. The economic evaluation shows the combination of composting and incinerator technologies was economically feasible with an average profit margin of 12.97% in the operational period of 18 years. In conclusion, the concept of wastepreneurship is relevant in Piyungan Landfill by adjusting the MSW management paradigm from previously cost-center into business-center.

Abstract

This article describes the development of an e-commerce web-based used to offer micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) products from the community of Indonesia Council for Small Business (ICSB), Sukoharjo Regency. MSMEs entrepreneurs adopt information technology (IT) as marketing their marketing tools. To engage participation in climate change adaptation and mitigation, www.blonjo.online provide positive content from the entrepreneurs as the awareness campaign. Development of www.blonjo.online considers input from ICSB Sukoharjo to identify and situation analysis problems entrepreneurs face in the e-commerce platform. Some mentoring was conducted to increase understanding of climate change issues and their impact on environmental damage, green marketing, photography, and copywriting. Based on the need for information system specification, e-commerce was developed and tested for the design and performance of information systems, then prototyping. MSMEs entrepreneurs upload their climate change campaign in three climate change adaptation and mitigation categories: taking more efficient raw materials, avoiding non-renewable materials in production, and using environmentally friendly packaging.

Abstract

Abstrak. Bentos merupakan organisme yang hidup sesil atau menetap di dasar sungai, dan dapat digunakan sebagai indikator pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan keanekaragaman bentos, untuk mengetahui zonasi serta overlay persebaran bentos di Sungai Keyang, Kabupaten Ponorogo, Jawa Timur. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Oktober-November 2017 dengan metode plot/transek, penghitungan, dan analisis laboratorium. Terdapat 3 stasiun pengamatan, masing-masing stasiun terdiri dari 3 transek dan 9 plot. Pengukuran faktor lingkungan meliputi suhu, turbiditas, pH, kandungan bahan organik, DO, BOD, dan tekstur substrat. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh 7 famili dan 14 spesies bentos. Hasil pengukuran indeks keanekaragaman (H’) yaitu 1,37-2,12 termasuk dalam kategori sedang, memiliki kemerataan yang tinggi (2,12-2,28), dan dominansi rendah (0,13-0,30). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah keanekaragaman bentos di Sungai Keyang termasuk dalam kategori sedang, zonasi dan overlay persebaran bentos pada bagian tepi dan tengah didominasi oleh Melanoides dan Tarebia, sedangkan pada bagian tergenang didominasi oleh Melanoides dan Cordulegaster.Kata kunci: bentos, keanekaragaman, Sungai Keyang, overlay persebaran, zonasi

Abstract

Environmental justice is the same situation for all generations, both now and in the future. Environmental justice is measured based on differences in environmental impacts perceived by the community and statistics. This study aims to analyze environmental justice based on the physical and socio-economic of the community near the Putri Cempo Landfill, Jatirejo. This research was conducted in July-December 2021 in Jatirejo Village. The data collection on physical conditions was taken by laboratory tests, while socio-economic conditions were taken based on interviews and questionnaires. The results on the physical condition of the water showed that pH and iron did not exceed the standard, but the total coliform Too Numerous To Count (TNTC) and COD were quite high, 10.2 mg/L. The results of the air quality test showed that the values of NO2 and O3 were in accordance with the quality standards, 0.27 and 4.26 g/Nm3, respectively. Soil quality is in normal condition. From a socio-economic, the last education average of Jatirejo Village residents is senior high school, 36.66%. The majority of residents work as entrepreneurs, 35%. The average income of the community is IDR 500,000 – IDR 2,000,000, and some have very low incomes and even have no income. The suggested concept of environmental justice includes character building and improving human resources quality through the Job Training Center, Micro Small Medium Enterprises, Posyandu, 12-year free education, improving infrastructure, and waste management system. The conclusion of this study is that the environmental justice of the community around the Putri Cempo Landfill is quite good.
