Abstract

This study investigates the implications of the ‘flexing’ phenomenon, characterized by the ostentatious display of wealth and material possessions on social media, on the religious and social life of Indonesian Muslim millennials. Employing a qualitative research methodology, the study analyzes data collected through social media observation and interviews with millennial Muslims. Findings reveal that ‘flexing’ can have detrimental effects on religious life, including fostering excessive materialism, eroding integrity and honesty, and hindering the fulfillment of Islamic obligations such as Zakat and charitable giving. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that "flexing" contributes to social issues such as excessive consumerism, social inequality, a decline in empathy and concern for others, and potential mental health issues arising from social comparison and insecurity. The study concludes that while ‘flexing’ may be perceived differently by individuals, its potential negative impacts on religious values and social cohesion warrant critical consideration.

Abstract

Background: Norepinephrine infusion decreases hypotension after spinal anesthesia during a cesarean section. There is an increasing attitude toward using norepinephrine to prevent spinal hypotension. There hasn't been much investigation on the use of norepinephrine in spinal anesthesia in Indonesia, particularly for cesarean sections in rural areas. Methods: In this single-blinded norepinephrine group. Randomized clinical trial: The norepinephrine group was given continuous norepinephrine before spinal anesthesia. Parturients for elective and emergency cesarean section were allocated to receive norepinephrine infusion (0.05 mcg/kg BW/mnt. Our primary outcome was the incidence of hypotension within 36 min of spinal anesthesia administration. Secondary outcomes included side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and chills during surgery.Result: In total, 92 patients were enrolled. Of these patients included in the final analysis. Patients who suffered hypotension showed hypotension at minute zero and minute twelve (14.13 %), minute twenty-four (13.04 %), and minute thirty-six (18.47 % )—the frequency of chills and nausea/vomiting. Three (3.26 %) and eight (8.89 %) participants in the norepinephrine group reported feeling chills and nausea/vomiting.Conclusion: prophylactic norepinephrine infusion may reduce HR without increasing the risk of post-spinal hypotension following cesarean delivery.

Abstract

This research analyzed and explored the potential for developing mosque-based halal tourism on the island of Lombok, which is known as the Island of a Thousand Mosques and is rich in culture and nature. Several mosques in Lombok have historical value, architectural beauty, and regional culture, which can be used as a unique tourist activity experience for Muslim and foreign tourists visiting mosques in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province. This research used a descriptive qualitative method to describe the potential for developing mosque-based halal tourism in Lombok. Primary data sources were obtained through interviews and observations at the Hubbul Wathan Mosque or the Mataram Islamic Center Mosque, a mosque that is used as a halal tourist destination. This research shows that the potential for developing mosque-based halal tourism is very large and has an innovative concept because it can increase the number of tourists and increase the variety of halal tourist destinations in Lombok. This research also explored important aspects of developing halal tourism, including accommodation facilities, halal food, and activities based on Islamic culture. Mosque-based halal tourism centers can offer a holistic experience for Muslim tourists, including visiting historic mosques, learning about local Islamic culture, and enjoying regional halal culinary specialties. The potential for developing mosque-based halal tourism in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province, is an attractive opportunity to attract more Muslim tourists and foreign tourists to visit mosques in Lombok.

Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives within the maritime sector, focusing on their environmental and economic impacts. Through qualitative analysis of perspectives from maritime professionals, educators, and graduates, the study identifies key successes and challenges in implementing sustainability programs. Larger maritime companies have shown significant progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving operational efficiency, while smaller enterprises face financial and logistical barriers to adopting green technologies. The study also highlights the gap between sustainability education and its practical application in the industry, calling for stronger collaboration between academic institutions and industry leaders. The findings underscore the need for continued innovation, policy support, and investment to ensure that sustainability initiatives contribute to both environmental preservation and long-term economic growth in the maritime sector.
