Abstract

The purpose of this research is to ascertain whether Augmented Reality (AR) is a useful learning tool for helping students with intellectual disabilities recognize animal names and whether a rise in the average score of these students occurs. A new technology that mixes two- and three-dimensional items with information in a true projection is called Augmented Reality (AR). We employed pre-experimental design and experimental research approaches in this work. As tools for gathering data, the researcher performed tests and observations twice at each meeting. According to SLB Muhammadiyah Jombang research, Augmented Reality (AR) significantly enhances learning for students with intellectual disabilities, particularly when it comes to identifying animal names. Following the use of Augmented Reality (AR), the average pre-test score rose to 73.87, while the post-test score rose to 88.50. High levels of involvement and enthusiasm were evident during the Augmented Reality (AR) lecture, according to observation results. Augmented Reality (AR) has a good influence on student attention and engagement, as evidenced by the N-Gain formula's effectiveness score of 64.06%. For students with intellectual disabilities, Augmented Reality (AR) is a useful tool to improve their educational experience.

Abstract

In education, AI technology has transformed the education curriculum, especially in the fields of technology, science, mathematics, and engineering. This research aims to determine the influence of using the Grammarly application on improving the writing skills of Islamic senior High School Al-Bairuny Jombang students. This research design is a quantitative experimental research design. The type of experimental research design used is a pre-experimental research design. The population of this study is extra-class A group student from class XI, Islamic senior High School Al-Bairuny Jombang, totaling 38 students. The sample for this research is students from the extra-class A1 class XI Islamic senior High School Al-Bairuny Jombang, totaling 20 students. The results show an increase in students' writing abilities. This can be proven by the average pre-test and post-test scores. The pre-test score was 78.25, and the post-test score was 80.90. Based on the findings of this research, it can be seen that using the Grammarly application as a media can have an influence on improving writing skills. Based on the research findings showing improvements in students' writing scores after using Grammarly, future researchers are advised to expand the scope of the study. Rather than focusing on just one group, it would be better to use a more robust experimental design, such as comparing a group of students who used Grammarly with another group who did not.

Abstract

Writing is an activity where someone can express their ideas in writing. AI in education refers to the use of technology that can be utilized in education. One example is in the learning process, which can be interactive and innovative. This research is urgent given the importance of English language skills as a tool for international communication, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine students' perspectives on the use of DeepL Translate in writing skills. In the context of language learning, artificial intelligence-based translation tools such as DeepL Translate are increasingly popular among students. This study used a mixed method, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students, while qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with several students who used DeepL Translate in the process of writing descriptive texts. The results showed that most students had a positive response to the use of DeepL Translate. They felt this tool helped them understand new vocabulary, improve sentence structure, and increase the accuracy of their writing. However, some students also expressed concerns about the dependence on this translation tool and its potential negative impact on their independent writing skills. These findings provide important insights for teachers in understanding how technology can be utilized to support writing skills learning, as well as the challenges students face in using it.

The developed product integrates gamebased activities using the LiveWorksheets platform to support four English skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, in accordance with the Cambridge Curriculum and Playful Learning approach. The results of the study indicated that Explore C-Play is feasible and effective as a learning medium. Material expert validation reached 93%, categorized as excellent, while media expert validation obtained 81%, categorized as very good. In addition, students’ responses showed a very positive perception with an average score of 98%, indicating high motivation, engagement, and interest in learning English through the developed e-worksheet. These findings demonstrate that game-based digital worksheets can enhance students’ participation and understanding in English learning. Therefore, Explore C-Play can be used as an effective supporting learning medium for international lower secondary students implementing the Cambridge Curriculum.

Abstract

The issue of low environmental awareness among elementary school students often manifests in their indifference toward school gardens and waste management, which reflects limited ecological literacy and weak practical skills in sustainable living. This community service program focused on implementing a Mini Gardening Class designed to foster creativity, responsibility, and environmental care among sixth grade students at an Islamic elementary school. The objective was to integrate gardening activities as both an educational tool and a life skills training program that nurtures environmental awareness and simple entrepreneurship in agriculture. The method applied was service learning, combining direct practice, participatory learning, and reflection to strengthen character and knowledge. Students were guided through activities such as preparing organic media from banana stems, husks, and compost, creating liquid fertilizer from rice water, planting short-harvest vegetables, and maintaining their growth through daily care. The strategy emphasized experiential learning, collaborative teamwork, and integration with science and character education subjects. The results showed a significant increase in students’ knowledge and skills in gardening, higher enthusiasm for outdoor learning, and improved responsibility in maintaining the school garden. Furthermore, the program produced practical outputs including a gardening manual, sustainable planting media, and organic fertilizer that could be replicated by the wider community. This activity successfully transformed idle school land into a productive and educational space, while also instilling values of sustainability, cooperation, and independence. It is expected that the Mini Gardening Class can serve as a sustainable model of environmental education and food self-sufficiency in schools.

Abstract

Young people's interest in calligraphy tends to decline due to the dominance of modern digital visual culture, which is more practical and instantaneous. This has an impact on the suboptimal integration of artistic and religious values in community activities. The integration of art and religion can strengthen cultural identity while also serving as a contextual medium for preaching. The community service team conducted calligraphy training for TPQ teachers with the aim of increasing the interest of teachers and students in calligraphy. The target of this activity was TPQ teachers in Mentoro Village, Sumobito District. This training provided additional insight and skills to TPQ teachers in Mentoro Village regarding the art of calligraphy, while also fostering motivation to develop Islamic art in the educational environment. Despite limitations in time and resources, this activity still had a positive impact in terms of education, religion, and society. TPQ teachers showed great enthusiasm during the activity, so it is hoped that the knowledge gained can be passed on to students as a form of program continuity. Thus, this calligraphy training activity is the first step in strengthening the integration of art and religious values in Mentoro Village
