Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Local Wisdom-Based Training and Task Performance on Work Engagement in the preservation of Pupur Bangkal, a traditional skincare product from South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The research is grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV), which posits that unique and inimitable resources, including culturally embedded human resources, can generate sustainable competitive advantage. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed using a saturated sample of 199 management students at Sari Mulia University who were associated with the local traditional industry context. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that Local Wisdom-Based Training and Task Performance simultaneously have a significant effect on Work Engagement. Partially, Local Wisdom-Based Training shows a significant and positive influence on Work Engagement, whereas Task Performance does not have a significant partial effect. These findings suggest that the internalization of cultural values, traditional knowledge, and authentic production processes plays a more critical role in fostering employees’ psychological attachment to work than merely achieving technical performance standards. In conclusion, Local Wisdom-Based Training emerges as the dominant predictor of Work Engagement, highlighting the importance of values-based human resource development in traditional industries. Integrating local wisdom into training programs is essential to strengthen employee engagement and support the sustainable preservation of culturally rooted products such as Pupur Bangkal

Abstract

Increasing environmental challenges and the growing volume of waste have highlighted the need for sustainable and community-based waste management approaches. However, limited public awareness and lack of practical knowledge remain major barriers to the implementation of circular economy practices at the community level. This study examines the role of knowledge sharing in empowering communities through the implementation of circular waste practices at the Bening Saguling Foundation, West Bandung Regency. The program integrates plastic recycling, maggot-based organic waste processing, and sustainable layer farming as a comprehensive approach to waste utilization and community development. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore the processes and impacts of an international community service program (PkM).Data were collected through direct observation, interactive discussions, and participant involvement during the program activities. The findings reveal that knowledge sharing, supported by participatory communication and hands-on practices, significantly enhances community understanding and engagement in circular waste management. Participants demonstrated improved awareness of circular economy principles and the ability to apply waste processing techniques, particularly in utilizing maggots as an alternative feed in layer farming systems. However, the sustainability of program implementation remains a challenge, highlighting the need for continuous mentoring and institutional support. Overall, the integration of knowledge sharing and practical training within a circular framework proves effective in strengthening community capacity and promoting sustainable environmental practices. This study contributes to the development of a replicable model for community empowerment based on integrated waste management.

Abstract

Introduction: The nickel mining industry has high operational risks, thus requiring a mature safety management system. Objective: This study aims to analyze the Safety Maturity Level (SML) in nickel mineral mining operations at PT XYZ based on the parameters in the Decree of the Director General of Mineral and Coal No. 10.K/MB.01/DJB.T/2023. This evaluation is important to identify standard deviations and formulate a program for continuous improvement of safety culture. Methods: This study uses a qualitative and quantitative research design (mixed methods) by assessing four main indicators: worker participation, unit leader responsibility, accident statistical analysis, and risk control efforts. The research instruments include an assessment rubric according to ESDM regulations, in-depth interviews, field observations, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Results and Discussion: PT XYZ achieved a total safety performance score of 0.65 out of 1.00, placing the company at the "Reactive" level. Safety is still regarded as an administrative formality rather than an internalized work culture. Conclusion: To advance toward the "Proactive" level, strategic programs are proposed, including optimization of the "SLAMET" digital application, Management Walk Thru, and Advanced Data Analytics for accident investigation
