Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab permasalahan tentang materi pembelajaran listening yang diperlukan oleh siswa semester genap kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui materi pembelajaran listening yang sesuai dengan pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual. Sumber informasi dalam penelitian ini adalah guru mata pelajaran bahasa inggris SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak dan buku teks yang dipakai. hasil wawancara dan analisis buku teks diketahui bahwa materi pembelajaran listening yang digunakan di sekolah tersebut tidak memenuhi seluruh aspek CTL. Oleh karena itu peneliti mendesain materi pembelajaran listening dengan pendekatan kontekstual. Aktivitas dan kegiatan dalam desain materi tersebut di sesuaikan dengan aspek pendekatan pembelajaran kontesktual. Kata kunci: desain materi, materi listening, pendekatan kontekstual Abstract: This research is aimed at answering the problem about the listening materials are needed by the second semester of eleventh grader of SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. It was also about the materials are appropriate based on Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach. An interview conducted for the teacher and textbooks analysis based on the criterion Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach. The information sources for this research are the teacher of English in SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak and the textbooks which are used by the teacher. The result of the interview and the textbook analysis indicate that listening materials that are used by the teacher and the students, do not fulfill all aspects Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach. Hence, the researcher tried to design contextual listening materials in term of the text and the activities. The activities in the listening materials are designed based on all aspects of contextual teaching and learning approach. From the checklist, we conclude that listening material samples designed fulfill the approach of Contextual Teaching and Learning. Keyword: material designing, listening material, CTL

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian yang berjudul Peningkatan Kosakata Siswa Melalui Quartet Picture (PTK yang dilaksanakan pada Kelas III di SD Plus Bina Empat Lima Pontianak pada Tahun Akademik 2012/ 2013) bertujuan unmtuk meningkatkan kosakata siswa terutama pada topik kata benda Nama-nama Profesi. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas III A di SD Plus Bina Empat Lima Pontianak tahun akademik 2012/ 2013. Data dikumpulkan melalui ceklis observasi, tes kosakata dan catatan lapangan. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisa dengan mendeskripsikan ceklis observasi dan catatatan lapangan dan menggunakan rumus untuk mencari nilai rata-rata siswa. Hasil temuan pda penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan penguasaan kosakata terutama topik kata benda Nama-nama Profesi siswa dalam dua siklus yang telah meningkat. Nilai rata-rata pada siklus pertama adalah 97.65 dan 99.05 pada siklus kedua. Kata kunci : Penguasaan Kosakata dan Quartet Picture Abstract: This research Improving Students Vocabulary Mastery through Quartet Picture (A Classroom Action Research to the Third Grade Students at SD Plus Bina Empat Lima Pontianak In Academic Year 2012/ 2013) was intended to improve students vocabulary mastery especially in vocabulary of noun Name of Profession. It was a Classroom Action Research which was conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research was students of III A in SD Plus Bina Empat Lima Pontianak In Academic Year 2012/ 2013 which cosisted of 24 students. The data was collected by using observation checklist, students measurement test and field note. It was analyzed by describing the observation checklist and fieldnote, and by using formula of mean score. The findings indicated the vocabulary mastery especially in vocabulary of noun Name of Profession improved through Quartet Picture. The students mean score in the first cycle was 97.65, and it was 99.05 in the second cycle. Key words: Vocabulary Mastery and Quartet Picture

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted to investigate the students’ need in learning describing person especially in speaking section, to design Lemlemtak activity in teaching describing person, and to evaluate whether or not the product is suitable for teaching describing person. The research involved the English teacher and the students at seventh grade of SMP-IT Al-Mumtaz Pontianak. The method of this research is development research which consists of three phases. They are analyze, design, develop, and evaluate or as known as ADDE. In this research, it was found Lemlemtak can help students enjoy the learning process of describing person in speaking section. The need analysis of the research obtained some information about the students’ and teacher need in speaking section and the activity that usually used by the teacher. The model of Lemlemtak activity explained well in module which was designed by the writer. To conclude, Lemlemtak activity is considered good and suitable to use in teaching describing person for speaking at junior high school students especially students in seventh grade. The Lemlemtak activity is a fun and interesting activity which help students enjoy the learning process without any worries of making mistakes.Keywords: Lemlemtak, Describing Person, Speaking, Development Research

Abstract

This research was held to improve students’ vocabulary by teaching using flash games. It was a Classroom Action Research which is conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research was the Third Grade Studentsof Extracurricular English Class of SD Islam Al-Azhar 21 Pontianak in Academic Year 2013/2014. The data was collected by using observation checklist, fieldnotes and written test. The data was analyzed by describing the observation checklist and fieldnotes. It also used mean score to score the test and percentage to score the observation checklist. The results indicate the students’ vocabulary improved by teaching using flash games.The mean score in the first cycle was 66.5 and in the second cycle was 93.5. The average score on meaning aspect in the first cycle was 57.50 and 97.50 in the second cycle. The average score on spelling aspect in the first cycle was 63.33 and 86.66 in the second cycle. The average score on usage aspect in the first cycle was 73.33and 95.00 in the second cycle. Key words: Vocabulary, Flash games   Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kosa kata siswa dengan mengajar menggunakan permainan flash. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas tiga SD kelas ekstrakurikuler Bahasa Inggris di sekolah Islam Al-Azhar 21 Pontianak tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui ceklis observasi, catatan lapangan dan tes tertulis. Data tersebut  dianalisa dengan mendeskripsikan ceklis observasi dan catatan lapangan. Analisa data juga dilakukan dengan cara mencari nilai rata-rata dalam menilai tes dan persentase dalam menilai ceklis observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kosa kata siswa meningkat dengan mengajar menggunakan permainan flash. Nilai rata-rata siswa di siklus pertama adalah 66.5 dan pada siklus kedua adalah 93.5. Nilai rata-rata pada siklus pertama dalam aspek arti adalah 57.50 dan 97.50 pada siklus kedua. Nilai rata-rata pada siklus pertama dalam aspek ejaan adalah 63.33 dan 86.66 pada siklus kedua. Nilai rata-rata pada siklus pertama dalam aspek penggunaan adalah 73.33 dan 95.00 pada siklus kedua. Kata kunci: Kosa kata, permainan flash

Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of this research are to find out the effectiveness and how effective the implementation of self-assessment in teaching reading comprehension on narrative text to the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak in academic year 2014/2015. In this research, the writer used pre-experimental research and the sample was class X IIS 1 which consists of 33 students. The research found that the students in the school need an effective assessment which might help them engage in the learning process and give them feedback that hence improved future learning. The result of this research shows that self-assessment helps students in reading comprehension on narrative text which is represented by the t-compution is 28.39 with the effect size is 16.39 or categorized as strong effect. It indicates that the implementation of self-assessment is effective in teaching reading on narrative text.   Keywords: Self-Assessment, Reading Comprehension, Narrative Text Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan dan tingkat efektifitas dari penerapan self-assessment dalam pengajaran komprehensi membaca pada teks narrative terhadap siswa kelas 10 SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Penilitian ini dilakukan dengan metode pre-eksperimen dan sampel penilitian adalah kelas X IIS 1 yang terdiri atas 33 siswa. Dari penilitian yang dilakukan ditemukan bahwa siswa di sekolah tersebut memerlukan cara penilaian yang efektif untuk membantu mereka terlibat dalam proses belajar and memperoleh umpan balik untuk perkembangan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa self-assessment­ membatu komprehensi membaca siswa pada teks narrative yang dibuktikan pada t-compution 28.39 dengan tingkat efektifitas 16.39 atau dikategorikan memiliki efek yang kuat. Hal ini menandakan bahwa penerapan self-assessment efektif dalam pengajaran komprehensi membaca pada teks narrative.   Kata Kunci: Self-Assessment, Komprehensi Membaca, Teks Narrative

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know whether role play can increase the students ability in speaking of the tenth grade of second semesters students of SMA Negeri 1 Pesaguan Ketapang in academic year 2011/2012. A pre-test was given to the students, and then the application of using role play was carried out as the treatment. After the treatment, the students were tested (post-test). The interval score of post-test and pre-test is 11.47. Based on the formulation of the effect size analysis (0.07), it can be concluded that teaching speaking ability through role play can increase the students speaking ability. Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa baik teknik Reiprocal Teaching meningkatkan komperehensi membaca (arti kata, referensi, dan informasi) pada teks naratif bagi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. Metide teknik ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelasyang dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaa, penerapan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui ceklis observasi, dan catatan lapangan dari activitas siswa dalam proses belajar pembelajaran, dan lembar jawaban siswa dari tes pilihan ganda. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 34 siswa. Hasil dari analisa data menunjukkan bahwa komperehensi membaca siswa pada teks naratifmeningkat memlalui teknik Reciprocal Teaching. Kata kunci: Reciprocal Teaching, Komperehensi Membaca, Naratif Abstract The purposes of this research is to know how well Reciprocal Teaching technique improve reading comprehension (word meaning, reference and information) on narrative text to the students grade XI of SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. The method of this research is Classroom Action Research. The research was conducted in three cycles. Each of cycle consists of four stages that is planning, acting, observing, and reflecting stage. The data was collected through observation checklist and field note from the students activity in the teaching learning process, and the students answer sheets from the test of multiple choice. The subject of this research is 34 students. The result of the data analysis showed that the students reading comprehension on narrative text improved through Reciprocal Teaching technique in 3 cycles. Abstract

Penelitian ini difokuskan pada pengajaran pemahaman membaca teks deskriptif dengan menggunakan strategi K-W-L. Tujuan-tujuan research ini adalah untuk menemukan benar atau tidaknya pengajaran pemahaman membaca teks deskriptif dengan menggunakan strategi K-W-L bisa meningkatkan pemahaman membaca teks deskriptif dengan signifikan pada kelas tujuh di SMP Negeri 24 Pontianak dalam tahun akademik 2012/2013 dan juga untuk menemukan keefektifannya. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian bersifat percobaan dengan satu kelompok desain pretest dan posttest. Contohnya adalah kelas VII A dari 4 kelas yang tersedia di sekolah tersebut. Data yang diperoleh dari menggunakan tes objektif dan dianalisa oleh t-test dan rumus mengukur keefektifan. Kata kunci: Pemahaman, Membaca, K-W-L, Teks Deskriptif Abstract: This research focused on teaching reading comprehension on descriptive text by using K-W-L strategy. The research purposes are to find out whether or not teaching reading comprehension on descriptive text by using K-W-L strategy can significantly increases reading comprehension on descriptive text of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 24 Pontianak in Academic Year 2012/2013 and to find out its effect size. The research method is a pre experimental research with one group of pretest and posttest design. The sample is class VII A out of 4 classes available in the school. Abstract

Abstrak: PenelitianiniberjudulPenggunaanPencocokanKartu Index dikolaborasikandenganDiskusiKelompokuntukmeningkatkanKemampuanpemahamanmembacasiswaterhadapteksberbentuk recount. Tujuandaripenelitianiniadalahuntukmembantumengatasikesulitansiswadalammemahamiteksberbentukrecount.SubjekpenelitianadalahsiswakelasVIIIF; yang berjumlah 31siswa.Penelitianinidilaksanakansebanyaktigasiklus.Penelitimenggunakantesjawabansingkat, tabelpengamatan, dancatatanlapangansebagaialatpengumpul data.Hasilpenelitianmenunjukanpeningkatanpemahamansiswadidalammembacadarisikluspertamasampaipadasiklusakhir.Initerlihatdarijumlahsiswa yang mencapai Standard ketuntasan minimum di siklusterakhir(87,10% atau 27 siswa). Sesuaidengan target daripenelitianiniuntukmembuat 80 % siswamencapai KKM (70). Sementara rata-rata nilaipencapaiansiswameningkatdari62.42ke81.45.Sebagaihasilnya, penulismenyimpulkanbahwaPencocokanKartu Index dikolaborasikandenganDiskusiKelompokmampumeningkatkanpemahamanmembacasiswaterhadapteks recount dengansangatbaik. Kata Kunci: PencocokanKartu Index, PemahamanMembaca Abstract:This research entitled the use of index card match collaborated with group discussion to improve students reading comprehension of recount text. The purpose of this research is to solve the students problem which was their difficulty in comprehending the recount text. The subject of this research was class VIIIF; which consisted of 31 students. This research was done in three cycles. The researcher used short answer tests, observation checklist tables, and field notes as the tools of collecting data. The research finding showed that the students reading comprehension improved from the first cycle to the last cycle. It is showed by the number of the students who passed the Standard of minimum score in the last cycle (87,10 % or 27 students). As the target of this research is to make 80 % of students passed the KKM (70). While, it is supported by the mean score of students achievement improved from 62.42 to 81.45. As the result, the writer concludes that Index Card Match collaborated with Group Discussion improved students reading comprehension of recount text very well. Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe student’s Fluency in playing drama on the sixth semester student of English Education Study Program Tanjungpura University. Fluency in speaking is important to consider in understanding the meaning what to say to build the good communication. In Drama, Fluency clearly has a role to deliver the message to audience. This research involves one group that consists of 5 students. The researcher applied descriptive method in qualitative and quantitative. The data of this research were obtained by observation trough video and analyze the script of each conversation in every scene. There were six aspects that writer focused on this research. They were Smoothness, Confidence, Accuracy, Expression, Space and Rate. Keywords: speaking, fluency, drama Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskribsikan pelafalan siswa berbicara dalam drama pada siswa semester VI Pendidikan Program Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Tanjungpura. Pelafalan dalam berbicara sangatlah penting untuk diperhatikan dalam pemahaman maksud yang disampaikan untuk membangun komunikasi yang baik. Dalam drama, pelafalan sangatlah jelas mempunyai peran penting dalam menyampaikan pesan kepada penonton. Penelitian melibatkan satu kelompok yang terdiri dari 5 siswa. Peneliti mengaplikasikan metode descriptive dalam kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data dari penelitian ini dieroleh dari observasi melalui video dan menganalisa setiap percakapan dalam naskah pada setiap adegan. Di dalam penelitian ini, peneliti focus terhadap 6 aspek Pelafalan. Aspek-aspek tersebut yaitu Kelembutan, Kepercayaan diri, Ketepatan, Ekspresi, Ruang dan Rasio. Kata kunci: berbicara, pelafalan, drama
