Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and map research in hydrology content. We reviewed 45 articles related to hydrology content published from 2014 to 2024. There are several previous literature review studies analyzing hydrology in engineering. However, we have not found any studies that investigate the projects, topics covered, and benefits of implementing hydrological processes in science education. The research method used was a systematic and bibliometric literature review using VoSviewer with ResearchRabbit database. This study analyzed content characteristics based on publication year, publication type, country of implementation, research approach, education stage, and hydrology content. The findings show that VoSviewer with ResearchRabbit database can be used as a research mapping baseline. In addition, the authors found that hydrological content varies according to the topic discussed, but very few found hydrological studies in the social field, especially education. The benefits of implementing educational hydrology in science education include cognitive benefits, procedural benefits (skills), attitudinal benefits, or a combination of the three benefits.

Abstract

Physics education graduates will produce quality teacher candidates. However, physics education students have difficulty understanding basic electronics lectures. Multiple representation-based lectures are needed to improve students' cognitive understanding and skills. This representative multiple is adapted to student learning styles. The problem comes from the lack of references that explain the learning styles of prospective physics teacher students with multiple representative integrated basic electronics lectures. The problem formulation that arises is how students' learning styles are presented and how basic electronics lectures are represented. The method used is mixed methods with a data triangulation design. Quantitative data comes from questionnaires of 50 students and qualitative data comes from interviews with lecturers teaching basic electronics courses. This research was conducted at a university in West Sumatra. The research results show that student understanding is still low and research needs to be carried out regarding the development of basic electronics programs based on multiple representations to improve students' cognitive understanding

Abstract

This study aims to measure the level of students’ service to the community related to sustainability, and to measure the level of students’ awareness of sustainability values. The method used in this research is a case study. The instruments used in this study consisted of ESD-based service learning questionnaires, sustainability awareness profile questionnaires and interviews. Instruments were given to 37 students of one of senior high schools in Bandung. The sampling technique used is a purposive sampling technique. The consideration of choosing the samples is based on suggestions from the teacher of the subjects concerned. The results showed that ESD-based service learning as a whole obtained an average of 76.9%, meaning that it has been applied well even though it has not been done continuously, but is in the habituation stage. Then, in terms of Sustainability Awareness Profile, students are included in the medium criterion. The results of the student's Sustainability Awareness Profile are divided into 3 categories, namely sustainability practice awareness with a percentage of 73.74% is always carried out, behavioral and attitude awareness a percentage of 87.06% is always carried out, and emotional awarenss with a percentage of 66.26% is being carried out. So that students' sustainability awareness attitude can support the concept of continuing education or ESD even with the results of the Sustainability Awareness Profile in the medium category.

Abstract

21st century learning demands critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication competencies. Therefore, integrating 21st century skills into the learning process effectively is very important, both teachers and students are expected to be able to master these skills. However, there are still many students who have not mastered 21st century skills, one of which is creative thinking skills. To achieve this competency, students need to experience a supportive process, active learning, and involve the problems around them, one of which is learning using PjBL which contains ESD. The data collection technique uses case-based essay questions about the diversity of wild plants in the area. Data were analyzed using the N Gain test, normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. The research was conducted over five meetings with the implementation of PjBL containing ESD which aims to improve students' creative thinking skills. The results of the research that has been carried out show that the creative thinking skills of students in the experimental group obtained an average N Gain value of 0.58 in the medium category, while in the control group an N-Gain value of 0.25 was obtained in the low category. So it can be concluded that the use of the PjBL model containing ESD can improve students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

In a world marked by inequity, young people will be required to become adept at balancing tensions, dilemmas, and trade-offs, such as balancing equity and freedom, autonomy and community, innovation and continuity, and efficiency and the democratic process, in local settings with sometimes global implications. This study uses The Static-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. There are 50 students in integrated training and 50 students in separate training who are in the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Teachers frequently guide students in the use of meta-affective and meta-cognitive strategies during the science learning process in integrated training, whereas researchers train students in the interpretation and independent use of meta-affective and meta-cognitive strategies during separate science learning. The instrument used was a questionnaire with five Likert scales (1 = not at all typical of me, 2 = not very typical of me, 3 = somewhat typical of me, 4 = fairly typical of me, and 5 = very typical of me). The competence of "reconciling tensions and dilemmas" is constructing with four indicators, namely integrated way, inter-relations, logics and positions, and perspectives. Based on general data for all grades, students who received meta-affective and meta-cognitive training separately from science learning experienced an increase. Meanwhile only one indicator namely logics and positions is positive changes in integrated meta-affective and meta-cognitive-based training. This shows that students can think and carry out activities in various ways to understand science independently, without having to be guided by the teacher.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop scientific literacy instruments aligned with the 2025 framework, focusing on socioscientific issues (SSI) related to health and disease, and apply them to prospective science teachers (PSTs). Despite the updated framework, many Indonesian scholars still use outdated models. Using an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design and the ADDIE model, this research involved 194 PSTs, three assessment experts, and two content experts. Textbook analysis revealed that competency 1 was most dominant, while competency 3 was the least addressed in both books and classroom practice. The instrument development process began with 30 items and underwent multiple stages, including expert validation, readability checks, pilot testing, and statistical analyses of reliability, item difficulty, and discrimination. Ultimately, 23 items were validated with high reliability (0.92) and a balanced difficulty range that cover the cognitive skills such as content, procedural, and epistemic knowledge. A profiling analysis using these items showed that most PSTs demonstrated moderate scientific literacy, with third-year students outperforming first- and second-year students. Overall, the instrument proved effective, as it was systematically developed based on textbook analysis and teacher interviews to reflect current scientific literacy demands, particularly in preparation for PISA 2025. This instrument also expects the PSTs in the future to have the ability to teach their students about the skills of the content, procedural, and epistemic knowledge.
