Abstract

Musicmathematics is the integration of mathematical principles in music, offering a new approach in contemporary music composition. This study arises from the urgency to understand the impact of musicmathematics on the art ecosystem holistically, encompassing cultural, social, economic, educational, legal, and technological aspects. The research employs document analysis and audiovisual analysis methods to identify patterns, relationships, and the influence of musicmathematics on various elements of the art ecosystem. The study is based on the art ecosystem theory by Becker (1982), which emphasizes the interaction between art actors and social structures, and Benoît Mandelbrot’s fractal theory (1989), which observes recurring patterns in music structures. Additionally, the concept of dynamic culture (Geertz, 1973a) is used to understand cultural transformation through the application of mathematical innovations. The results of the research indicate that musicmathematics significantly contributes to music composition innovation, despite facing challenges in social acceptance and commercialization. Culturally, musicmathematics creates tension between innovation and tradition; socially, this genre forms a limited experimental community; and in education, it enriches curricula with analytical approaches facilitated by technology. The study concludes that musicmathematics holds great potential in supporting the transformation of contemporary arts, particularly through strengthening education and technology. However, adaptive strategies are needed to increase the acceptance of this concept in a broader art ecosystem. Keywords: musicmathematics, art ecosystem, music innovation, music education, art technology.

Abstract

In the digital era, the regional tourism sector is required to continuously innovate in providing information and services to tourists, including promoting the potential of local culinary tourism. This research aims to design and develop an Android-based local culinary tourism application as an effort to support increased tourist visits to the region. The development method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD), which is considered capable of producing applications with a fast, flexible, and adaptive development process to user needs. The application provides a search feature for nearby culinary locations, recommendations for popular restaurants, travel route maps, and user reviews, supporting a more informative and interactive culinary tourism experience. Testing was conducted through several stages, from unit testing to system testing, to ensure each feature operates according to specifications. The development results indicate that this application can help tourists find culinary information practically while also supporting local culinary businesses in promoting their products digitally. It is hoped that this application can support increasing the attractiveness of culinary tourism in the region, strengthening the local tourism ecosystem, and making a significant contribution to the growth of the technology-based creative economy.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper analyzes the impact of political patronage, bureaucratic corruption, and foreign capital dependency on labor conditions within Nigeria’s aviation industry. Employing clientelism and dependency theory, it explores how these factors contribute to institutional inefficiency and diminished worker welfare. Research Methodology: This study employs a case study approach, examining agencies such as the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and analyzing secondary data to investigate the effects of liberalization policies, casualization, outsourcing, and labor issues within the sector. Results: The study found that political patronage and corruption contribute to inefficiency and poor service delivery within aviation agencies. Liberalization policies were associated with increased job insecurity, stress, and gender inequality, particularly among contract workers and ground staff. Conclusions: This paper concludes that improvements in worker welfare and sector competitiveness within Nigeria’s aviation industry require merit-based recruitment, strengthened labor laws, formal contracts, gender inclusion, and local ownership. Limitations: This study is limited by its reliance on secondary data and its focus on Nigeria, potentially restricting generalizability to other regions. Contribution: The study offers policy recommendations aimed at improving recruitment practices, labor rights, and gender equality, thereby contributing to both theoretical and practical solutions for Nigeria’s aviation sector

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Stunting does not only occur in toddlers but also affects children of primary school age. The 2018 Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS) reported that the prevalence of stunting among children aged 5–12 years was 23.6%, indicating that it remains a public health problem. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze stunting among primary school students in coastal areas in relation to nutritional adequacy for growth. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among primary school students in coastal areas. Data were collected on the adequacy levels of energy, protein, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, and iron intake. Data were analyzed using chi-square tests and logistic regression to identify dominant risk factors. Results: The prevalence of stunting among primary school students in coastal areas was 12.5%, with a higher proportion among females (8.3%). Risk factors associated with stunting included inadequate energy intake (PR = 4.4; 95% CI: 1.3–15.2), protein (PR = 29.3; 95% CI: 7.1–119.8), calcium (PR = 8.1; 95% CI: 2.4–37.5), phosphorus (PR = 7.9; 95% CI: 1.1–58.4), and zinc (PR = 23.2; 95% CI: 5.6–96.5). Multivariate analysis showed that inadequate protein and calcium intake were the dominant factors associated with stunting. Conclusion: Inadequate protein and calcium consumption are the dominant determinants of stunting among primary school students in coastal areas. Nutritional interventions focusing on improving protein- and calcium-rich food intake are strongly recommended.

Abstract

This study delves into the topic of juvenile street performers in Gorontalo City and seeks to understand how well Islamic law and Indonesia's positive legal system work together to protect children from being exploited economically.  The economic exploitation of children continues owing to factors such as poverty, familial dependency, insufficient institutional coordination, and limited public awareness, even though there are extensive rules such as the Child Protection Law (Law No. 35 of 2014) and the Manpower Law (Law No. 13 of 2003).  This research delves into the theoretical framework and its application via a qualitative juridical-normative lens, bolstered by field observations and an Islamic legal viewpoint.  Research shows that despite severe prohibitions and consequences in Indonesia's legal instruments, enforcement is still patchy and reactive, focussing on symptoms rather than causes.  Seen through the lens of Islamic law (sharī'ah), the exploitation of children is seen as a breach of the principles outlined in maqāṣid al-syarī'ah, specifically the protection of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-'aql), and lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl).  Legal enforcement, education, poverty alleviation, and community-based moral awareness must all be part of a comprehensive plan to effectively safeguard children, which must incorporate positive law with Islamic social and ethical precepts.  The research found that for Indonesian children to truly be protected, the legal system must function as a social and moral mechanism based on justice ('adl), compassion (raḥmah), and public welfare (maṣlaḥah), rather than just a prohibitionary tool.
