Abstract

As agricultural sectors rise due to increased human population, the demand for chemical fertilizer is also uplifted. However, the excessive use of chemical fertilizers reduces soil quality and natural properties. To address these issues, an alternative eco-friendly biofertilizer is needed. Here, we developed a liquid biofertilizer called ESSIK to substitute hazardous chemical fertilizers. It is made from environmentally friendly waste materials—including chicken feathers, egg shells, and fish scales—which are repurposed to provide vital nutrients for plant growth. Egg shells contain calcium useful in the synthesis of plant enzymes, fish scales contain calcium and phosphorus which play a role in accelerating fruit ripening, and chicken feathers contain high protein which can be a source of amino acids. These components were first fermented using effective microorganisms (EM4) to break down complex polymers into forms more readily absorbed by plants. The fermented biofertilizer was tested using mung bean (Vigna radiata) with concentrations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, and 100%, and a positive control of 5% EM4. Based on the study, 20% was the best formulation to support the growth of mung bean (V. radiata) with a length of more than 41 cm, 16 leaves, and 9 stalks. Also, the leaf's length was approximately 6,6 cm, width 3,8 cm, with a healthy-green appearance. These findings suggest that it has significant potential as an eco-friendly and sustainable biofertilizer alternative to chemical fertilizers, promoting robust plant growth while contributing to waste recycling and environmental conservation for a better future.

Abstract

This study analyzes the restructuring of the Qur'anic Education Institution in Indonesia as a strategy to improve the quality of Islamic religious education. While previous studies have discussed the effectiveness of learning methods, few have comprehensively examined the institutional restructuring, including administrative, pedagogical, and parental participation aspects. Therefore, this study fills this gap by presenting an integrated approach to restructuring Qur'anic Education Institution. This study employs a qualitative approach with a field research method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Qur'anic Education Institution faces various challenges such as limited teaching staff, non-standardized administration system, and low participation in training programs facilitated by Mabin. The novelty of this study lies in identifying and implementing a community-based restructuring model that enhances teacher competence, improves the administration system, and strengthens collaboration with parents. The restructuring of Qur'anic Education Institution contributes significantly to improving the quality of religious education through a more effective teaching system, professional institutional management, and active stakeholders involvement.

Abstract

Article Highlights:- Integrated biorefinery provides economic and environmental benefits- Microalgae produce higher lipid content than plants- Generally, microalgae produce higher carbohydrate contents essential for bioethanol- Biohydrogen produced by microalgae is a future energy source- As a biofertilizer, microalgae promotes plant growth Abstract:Industrial and household activities leading to many pollutants have been reduced by the presence of microalgae in the phycoremediation. Microalgae transform pollutants into many forms of biorefinery, such as biofuel, biojet, bioethanol, biohydrogen, and biofertilizer. The chemical residue resulted from household and industrial activities has abundant elements (N, P, C) for microalgal cell growth. The contents of a microalgal cell, like lipid and carbohydrates, depend on the nutrition in the medium, the cultivation system, the microorganism-mediator, and the applied technology. Chlorella vulgaris, Botryococcus braunii, Spirulina platensis, Chlorella sp., Chlamydomonas sp., and Chlorococcum sp., are potential lipid-producing microalgae and are applied in biofuel and biojet. The carbohydrate of Cyanobacteria synechoccus sp., Nannochloropsis oculata, and Arthospira platensis is the main content to be utilized in bioethanol. Meanwhile, for the application of biohydrogen, H2 gas is converted from Scenedesmus obliquus fermentation. However, the process of bioethanol and biohydrogen needs bacteria as a mediator of fermentation. Spirulina and Scenedesmus are examples of microalgae supporting soil fertility as biofertilizers. Extraction of microalgae can increase growth promotors for plants, like amino acids, peptides, and proteins, and also antibacterial and antifungal. Optimizing excellent microalgae content in bioenergy will face several challenges, for example, imbalances of organic waste. However, the phycoremediation of microalgae is a sustainable and futuristic solution to fulfill the need for energy stock.

Abstract

Abstract: Transaction between housing developers and buyers are sometimes carried out through installment payments based on a mutually agreed schedule and amount, with only a receipt as proof of payment. In practice, this installment-based sale and purchase model often leads to various legal issues and disputes, particulary due to breaches of contract (wanprestasi), which may cause lasses to either the seller or the buyer. A notable example of such a breach is reflected in Decision No. 160/Pdt.G/2021/PN Mdn, Where the housing developer failed to deliver the certificate of ownership and to execute a deed of sale and purchase for the buyer who had completed full payment. The thesis employs as seen in Decision No. 160/Pdt.G/2021/PN Mdn. Systematic analysis of legal issues in land lot transaction conducted marely with payment receipts and the resulting breach of contract in the aforementioned court decision. The research is descriptive in nature and utilizes a statutory approach and case study approach by examining legal norms in legislation and judicial decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of administering Jamblang Stem Bark Ethanol Extract (Syzygium cumini L.) (JSBEE) on the activity and phagocytosis capacity of macrophages in mice (Mus musculus) infected with Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and five repetitions, conducted in-vitro and in vivo test. The treatments for in vitro involved administering distilled water (T0), Stimuno (T1), and JSBEE at concentrations of 10 ppm (T2), 100 ppm (T3), and 1000 ppm (T4). Subsequently, in vivo treatment was conducted using distilled water (T0), stimuno (T1), JSBEE at 10 mg/kg (T2), 100 mg/kg (T3), and 1000 mg/kg (T4). Initially, mice underwent in vivo administration of JSBEE, administered orally via catheter tip, with a dosage of 1 mL per 10 g of body weight. JSBEE was administered orally for 10 days, followed by infection with S. aureus on the 11th day. The in vitro tests were conducted by isolating macrophage cells from the intraperitoneal fluid, to which S. aureus and JSBEE were added. Intraperitoneal fluid collected from the mice was used to prepare smears using the thin blood smear method and Giemsa staining. Macrophage phagocytosis activity was observed and assessed based on the percentage activity formula, and the phagocytic capacity of macrophages was measured by the number of S. aureus cells phagocytosed. The results indicated that JSBEE significantly affected (P0.05) both the activity and phagocytic capacity of macrophages in vivo and in-vitro. The best concentration of JSBEE for increasing both the activity value and phagocytic capacity of macrophages was 100 ppm (T3).

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and compare the effect of the composition of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) with a banana peel on the absorption coefficient value as a composite material for absorbing sound waves. The cellulose within the water hyacinth and banana peel lead to reduced overload sound waves. This study used an experimental method providing banana peel crushed into powder, water hyacinth fiber, and resin (as a catalyst). All samples were prepared with dimensions of 13.5 cm × 25 cm × 0.8 cm. A frequency generator application was used as the sound source (125, 250, 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz), while a sound meter application measured sound intensity (dB). The results indicated that the outer surface of sample D had a superior absorption coefficient, measuring 0.51 at 250 Hz and 0.45 at 2000 Hz. Meanwhile, the inner surface of sample D recorded absorption coefficients of 0.46 at 250 Hz and 0.45 at 2000 Hz. Variations in absorption values were attributed to destructive interference and saturation. Sample D contained more water hyacinth (approximately 30%) than banana peel powder. This suggests that water hyacinth and banana peel powder are viable natural fiber alternatives for sound wave absorption.
