Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted, changed and forever changed educational institutions from early childhood learning to the adoption of online education at all levels of education. The need for rapidly deployable or deployable strategies requires educators across disciplines to navigate complex logistics and unique situations by immediately employing a variety of instructional technologies through alternative modalities and pedagogical approaches. Some efforts are tried and true, others are unproven and new. Students and instructors are faced with constraints and limitations related to physical work space, as well as challenges and concerns for mental and physical health; all while trying to meet and exceed a number of expectations. Learning styles can be implemented in various learning activities, for example the visual learning style with pictures, and the auditory learning style by listening to the teacher's explanation and friends' opinions (discussing). Understanding student learning styles can make it easier for teachers and educators to choose learning activities and make it easier for students to receive various information.

Abstract

Microscopes are essential as media or teaching aids for prospective educators to achieve learning goals. However, there are still obstacles in their application in the form of quite expensive costs. Often, educational aids have a sizeable nominal value for a school. Teaching aids are costly and prone to damage or loss if students use them frequently, and it is difficult and expensive to find replacements if they are damaged, so teachers are afraid to use them. To overcome this problem, this study provides another alternative design, namely the design of teaching aids that are still useful and function well for learning through the design of microscope teaching aids. The research method used is a model research design using Solidworks software. The development of learning tools compiled in this study refers to the type of 4-D development (Four-D model), which consists of 4 stages: the define stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the dissemination. The research carried out three stages, namely the definition stage (Define), the design stage (Design), and the development stage (Develop). In the results of the design draft, questions were asked of the informants; it was concluded that a proper microscope was a microscope that worked according to its specifications, namely being able to see tiny or micro-objects. The clarity of the lens and the maximum magnification are also factors in the feasibility of the microscope. This research can be concluded as a simple microscope design using the Solidworks application, which is suitable for use as an alternative learning media. If the design of this tool is to be made, then the selection of materials and mechanisms needs further research and trials.

Abstract

Physics is a branch of natural science. Since ancient times, humans have been interested in the movement of objects around them and motion is an area studied in mechanics. This research aims to understand the principles of mechanics in Lagrange and Newtonian mechanics for solving motion problems and their applications. The method used is the literature review method. Literature is a comprehensive overview of previous research on a particular topic. Literature review is a systematic process for identifying, evaluating, and synthesizing previously published scientific works on a particular topic. There are 20 sources used, consisting of books and scientific journals. The research results show that motion is an object that experiences movement from one place to another. Problems of motion of objects can be solved using the laws and principles of Newtonian and Lagrange mechanics. Lagrange mechanics is used to solve complex problems that cannot be solved with Newtonian mechanics. Lagrange mechanics focuses on the forces that cause objects to move, while Newtonian mechanics focuses on the energy that causes objects to move.
