Abstract

Colorado Learning Attitudes about Science Survey (CLASS) is an instrument designed to explore students' perceptions of physics and assess how closely their beliefs correspond with those of professional physicists. Before the development of CLASS, several similar instruments were developed in the field of Physics Education such as the Maryland Physics Expectation (MPEX), Views About Science Survey (VASS), and Epistemological Beliefs Assessment for Physical Science (EBAPS). Adams et al. developed CLASS in 2006 by evaluating these three instruments. Since then, CLASS has been extensively studied for its use in research, especially in the field of Physics Education, and has also been applied in other fields and translated into several languages. As a form of community strengthening, this article attempts to report the research findings related to the use of the CLASS instrument that has been translated into Indonesian. A total of 292 undergraduate students were sampled in this study, who are students from four universities. The respondents in this study were students who had enrolled in the Fundamental of Physics course. The data obtained were analysed with Item Response Theory (IRT) for the polytomous scale. There are Grade Response Model (GRM), Partial Credit Model (PCM), Rating Scale Model (RSM), and Generalized Partial Credit Model (GPCM). The research results show that among the four models of approach and based on the criteria used, the model considered most suitable is GRM. The research also shows that the number of items declared consistent with the model does not cover all CLASS items but rather some items. This finding indicates that further exploration is needed regarding the CLASS instrument items, especially in the Indonesian version. The findings of this study also add to the wealth of knowledge related to the quality assessment of the CLASS instrument through the modern test theory approach (IRT). Thus, the CLASS instrument can be regarded as a standard instrument and can be used globally across various populations.

Abstract

Relational understanding ability is a key skill that affects both the results and processes of learning and is essential for understanding physics subjects, as it helps connect cause and effect of phenomena, including local wisdom such as Timun Mas. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of augmented reality learning media based on Timun Mas as a solution to enhance students' relational understanding of vector material, specifically parabolic motion. The approach method used is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Feasibility testing was conducted using questionnaires to assess the feasibility of the display and material aspects by practitioners with years of experience in physics and Physics Education students at UNY to evaluate material suitability. The feasibility levels for display, media, and material aspects were calculated using MSI and SBI, with results of 2.548, 2.836, and 2.648, respectively. Therefore, this media is deemed suitable for use as a learning resource.

Abstract

Table tennis or pingpong is a sport that uses the bet as a striker that is popular among all. The research is aimed at finding out the great influence of the angle of the table tennis service so that the service is performed effectively. The method used is to capture a video when the player performs the service by variing the angles 20°, 40°, 60°, and 90°. Then analyzed using the Tracker application and analysis based on the parabolic equation of motion. The result is that there is a large influence of the angle on the service performed, the larger the angle of elevation then the maximum height will be larger except the angle 60°. The elevation angle affects the maximum distance of the ball.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis kearifan lokal Nglarak Blarak berbantuan website PhET sebagai media pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep hukum Newton dan critical thingking pada siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu Preliminary Research (Tahap Awal), Prototyping Phase (Tahap Perancangan), dan Assessment Phase (Tahap Penilaian). Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar angket uji kelayakan yang diisi oleh para ahli. Data hasil uji kelayakan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) dianalisis menggunakan skala Likert dengan kategori persentase lebih dari sama dengan 61% berkategori baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) pada setiap aspek dinyatakan layak dengan presentase 77% (kategori baik). Dari data hasil uji kelayakan tersebut, Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbantuan website PhET berbasis kearifan lokal Nglarak Blarak layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep hukum Newton dan critical thingking pada siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan informasi yang cukup tentang e-modul berbasis model pembelajaran problem based learning yang diintegrasikan dengan kearifan lokal sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi literatur yang mengumpulkan beberapa penelitian sebelumnya untuk menjawab pengembangan e-modul berbasis model pembelajaran problem based learning yang diintegrasikan dengan kearifan lokal sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa e-modul problem based learning adalah media pembelajaran yang sangat efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Media pembelajaran e-modul yang diintegrasikan dengan kearifan lokal ini menjadi media pembelajaran yang cukup menarik dan unik. Hal ini karena integrasi kearifan lokal pada media pembelajaran fisika belum banyak dilakukan.

Abstract

Pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran di era new normal masih banyak siswa yang motivasi belajarnya rendah, khususnya pada pelajaran fisika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis podcast sebagai suatu inovasi pembelajaran dalam upaya meningkatkan motivasi belajar pada mata pelajaran fisika, khususnya materi difraksi cahaya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Research and Development (RnD) dengan model pendekatan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode succesive interval. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai kelayakan pada setiap aspek kelayakan podcast Fisika Asix berada diatas 1,75. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa podcast Fisika Asix layak digunakan sebagai penunjang pembelajaran fisika di era new normal.

Abstract

Having good mental health is something that everyone hopes for. The importance of mental health for students can control their emotion regarding the situation they are facing. However, students often complain that they feel like they have too much assignments. So that not many of them feel stressed and pressured in doing it. Therefore, it is important to study further regarding students’ mental health. This research aims to prove how much influence coursework has on the mental health of students in the Department of Physics Education, Yogyakarta State University in 2023. The research method used is quantitative with a descriptive analytical approach. The sample used was 85 students from the Department of Physics Education, Yogyakarta State University class of 2023 using total sampling. The analysis carried out was a normality test which showed that the data was not normally distributed so it was carried out using the Mann-Whitney non-parametric test. The research result that can be conclude are that the influence of student assignments is quite small on the mental health of students at the Department of Physics Education, Yogyakarta State University in 2023.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on students' understanding of physics learning, aimed at students majoring in Physics Education, Yogyakarta State University, Class of 2023. In this research, data collection was obtained from distributing questionnaires to students of Physics Education, UNY 2023. Results data This research was processed using parametric statistical methods. The supporting applications used are Excel to tabulate data and SPSS which is used to analyze data obtained from research results. There are several stages carried out in parametric data processing, namely, normality test, linearity test, and t-test. In the normality test, a significance value of 0.200 was obtained. In the linearity test, the Sig value was obtained. deviation from linearity is 0.930. Then the t-test obtained a significance value of 0.001. It can be concluded from the results of the three tests and based on the basis for decision-making, that the research data is normally distributed, the variables are interconnected and influence each other.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan profesionalisme guru di SMP IT Syuhada melalui pendampingan dalam penyusunan desain pembelajaran berbasis meaningful dan mindful. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, serangkaian pelatihan dan workshop kolaboratif telah dilaksanakan berfokus pada perancangan perangkat ajar yang inovatif, relevan, dan menstimulasi keterlibatan aktif peserta didik. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup identifikasi kebutuhan guru, memberikan literatur tentang pembelajaran meaningful dan mindful, demonstrasi praktik, dan pendampingan intensif dalam pengembangan desain pembelajaran. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan kemampuan guru untuk mengintegrasikan prinsip meaningful dan mindful learning dalam setiap aspek pembelajaran. Guru berhasil merancang pengalaman belajar yang adaptif, kontekstual, dan memfasilitasi pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kreatif, karakter peserta didik. Selain itu, aktivitas ini membantu meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan kemandirian guru dalam menyiapkan perangkat ajar. Pendampingan berkelanjutan sangat penting dalam upaya untuk mendorong guru mengintegrasikan teori meaningful dan mindful learning dalam praktik kelas sehari-hari.
