Abstract

Within Indonesian context, religious pluralism has been a polemic among Islamic scholars. Some are not agreed because they assume all religions are equal. Whilst others are agreed with understanding religious pluralism as a form of respect and belief in other religions. This paper discusses the concept of religious pluralism in the Qur'an. By using the thematic method and the maqashidi interpretation approach in the Indonesian context, it is concluded that the Qur'an recognizes religious plurality and recommends committing good for non-Muslims as long as they do not interfere. In Indonesia, the concept of religious pluralism is a social fact that invariably exists and requires interfaith coexistence by maintaining the specific characteristics or teachings of each religion. Seven efforts have at least been made to address religious pluralism in Indonesia which are establishing brotherhood (ukhuwah), egalitarianism (al-musawah), the principles of justice (al-'adalah), the principles of tolerance (tasamuh), the principles of mutual respect, cooperation and friendship, the principles of peaceful co-existence, and wise-constructive-transformative dialogues.

Abstract

Salah satu kemajuan zaman ditandai dengan berkembangnya teknologi dan ilmu pengetahuan. Hal ini menjadikan manusia hidup lebih mudah sekaligus mengkhawatirkan. Di satu sisi, semua yang diinginkan manusia menjadi mudah tercapai. Namun di sisi lain, manusia menjadi lupa akan tujuan mereka hidup di dunia yakni beribadah kepada Allah. Agar manusia tidak terjerumus kepada hal-hal yang bersifat duniawi, maka diperlukan ilmu tasawuf yang di dalamnya terdapat maqam zuhud. Tulisan ini bermaksud membahas konsep zuhud di era modern, dengan mengacu pada penafsiran Hamka dalam Tafsir Al-Azhar. Dengan menggunakan motede temtik (maudhu’i) dan pendekatan tasawuf modern, didapati kesimpulan bahwa untuk menghindarkan manusia dari sikap terlalu cinta terhadap dunia, dibutuhkan maqam zuhud yang mencakup tiga hal dalam al-Qur’an, yaitu; mendahulukan perkara akhirat daripada perkara dunia, tidak berlebihan dalam mencintai dunia, dan menahan hawa nafsu. Tiga hal ini dapat dijadikan patokan dasar untuk mengarungi kehidupan agar umat Islam mendapatkan kebahagian di dunia dan jug akhirat.

Abstract

The maintenance of the Qur’an from the past until now gives an indication that Muslims are obliged to always maintain and keep it, by reading, writing or memorizing. It aims to keep the Qur’an on its authenticity throughout the lifetime of change and replacement. This paper will discuss the method of tahfidz al-Qur’an in the Majelis Qira’ah wat Tahfidz (MQT) pondok pesantren Murattil al-Qur’an (PPMQ) in Lirboyo, Kediri. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach. The data collection was through interviews, observation and documentation techniques. The results concluded that the MQT Assembly used various methods in the activities of tahfidz al-Qur’an, which was to read and memorize verses of the Qur’an collectively (jama’), read carefully one by one the verses of the Qur’an that would be memorized by looking at the Qur’an repeatedly (wah}dah and bi al-nadzar), depositing a new memorization to ustadz or kiyai (talaqqi), memorizing back verses of the Qur’an that had been deposited to ustadz or kiyai (takrir), and playing rote to the other santri (tasmi’).

Abstract

As hudan li al-na>s, The Qur’an is certainly not only a metaphysical-eschatological sense, but also concerns to the practical problems of human life in the world, includes the basic guidelines on how humans take care of the universe and conserve the environment. This paper introduced some ways or humans efforts in conserving the environment. This study  focused on the searching of verses on ecology, and it also  examined verses relating to environmental conservation in the Qur’an by using thematic method. It was found that the verses about the ecology introduced by the Qur'an were in the form of an environment (al-bi>ah), the whole world (al-‘a>lami>n), the sky or universe (al-sama>’), earth (al-ard}), human (al-insa>n), fauna (al-an’a>m or da>bbah), flora (al-naba>t or al-h{arts), water (ma>’), angin (al-ri>h}), sun (al -syams), moon (al-qamar), star (al-buru>j), and mountain (jabal). In seeking to identify the use of the existence of the verses about ecology, there are at least five efforts to conserve the environment: (1) maintain environmental cleanliness, (2) maintain the balance of nature, (3) plant trees for reforestation, (4) manage the land dead and empty, and (5) maintain and protect animals.

Abstract

This paper seeks to reveal how the rights of girls as family members as far as the hadith Nabi. In addition to providing a benchmark that Islam has equalized the rights of girls with the rights of boys, also to eradicate the ignorance system which has discriminated against girls by only siding with boys. Because the description of the discussion links a theme in the hadith Nabi, the method used refers to the thematic framework. As for understanding the content of the Hadith Nabi traditions that are related, this paper specifically examines ma’ani al-hadith with an intertextuality approach. Thus, the results of the discussion of thematization of the hadith indicate that: girls have the right to live, get love from parents, get good treatment, get formal education, and also non-formal. Of course, all the rights of girls recorded by the hadith Nabi are also entitled to be obtained by boys.Tulisan ini berusaha mengungkap bagaimana hak-hak anak perempuan sebagai anggota keluarga sejauh yang dipandang hadis Nabi. Selain untuk memberi patokan bahwa Islam telah menyetarakan hak anak perempuan dengan hak anak laki-laki, juga untuk memberantas sistem Jahiliah yang telah mendiskriminasi anak perempuan dengan hanya berpihak kepada anak laki-laki. Karena pembahasannya merujuk pada tema yang termuat dalam hadis Nabi, maka metode yang dipakai adalah tematik. Sementara untuk memahami kandungan hadis Nabi yang berkaitan, tulisan ini spesifik mengkaji secara ma’ani al-hadis dengan pendekatan intertekstualitas. Dengan demikian, hasil pembahasan secara tematisasi hadis mengindikasikan bahwa: anak perempuan memiliki hak untuk hidup, mendapat kasih sayang dari orang tua, mendapat perlakuan baik, mendapatkan pendidikan formal, dan juga pendidikan non-formal. Tentu saja, semua hak anak perempuan yang direkam hadis Nabi ini juga berhak didapatkan oleh anak laki-laki.

Abstract

Eksistensi kegiatan tafsir al-Qur’an sejak dulu hingga sekarang membuktikan bahwa al-Qur’an membutuhkan penjelasan, baik dari al-Qur’an itu sendiri, dari hadis Nabi, dan penjelasan para ulama, untuk mempermudah memahaminya. Tulisan ini berusaha merekonstruksi objek penelitian tafsir al-Qur’an. Tujuannya adalah untuk mencapai pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang pemikiran, ide, konsep, dan teori seseorang dalam memahami kandungan ayat-ayat al-Qur’an yang sedang dikaji. Setidaknya ada dua objek dalam penelitian tafsir al-Qur’an; pertama, penelitian disekitar produk-produk penafsiran, yaitu kitab tafsir yang merupakan karya mufassir dalam menjelaskan ayat al-Qur’an. Dalam hal ini, objek yang dikaji adalah seperti biografi pengarang, sumber penafsiran, metode penafsiran dan corak penafsiran. Kedua, penelitian terhadap penafsiran al-Qur’an itu sendiri, yaitu ayat al-Qur’an dan bagaimana cara mufassir menafsirkan ayat tersebut, seperti meneliti ayat al-Qur’an dengan cara menafsirkannya, meneliti asbab al-Nuzul, makiyyah-madaniyyah, dan munasabah.

Abstract

Abstract: Not a few Muslims who openly dare to interpret the Qur’an without following the terms and conditions that apply. This paper attempts to examine the limitations of the intellectual and moral qualifications of commentators in interpreting the Qur’an in the contemporary century. By using the descriptive-analytical method and the Qur’anic science approach and interpretation, it is concluded that; first, there are at least five requirements for the intellectual qualifications of the interpreter, namely; know Arabic and the rules of language, the science of rhetoric, and the science of ushul fiqh, know the basics of al-Qur’an science, know science and technology, know the traditions of the Prophet with all kinds of aspects; and know about man with all his character. Second, the ethical and moral qualification requirements for commentators include; have a straight faith, clean from lust, good intentions and right intentions, have good morals, practice the knowledge possessed, be careful in quoting an opinion, have a humble nature, have a noble soul, dare to call for the truth, look good, patient and calm, puts people who are more important than him, and has a mature provision.

Abstract

Not a few of the archipelago gave birth to world-class scholars. One of them is Muhammad Nawawi al-Bantani, from Serang, Banten. He was a scholar who was very productive in writing, and many of the books he wrote were in Arabic. Among his phenomenal works is in the field of Sufism, Salalim al-Fudhalaâ’ ala Hidayat al-Adzkiya ‘ila Thariq al-Auliyaâ’. This paper tries to explore the thoughts of the mysticism of Nawawi mysticism in the book Salalim al-Fudhalaâ’. With pure literature study and intertextuality data analysis, it was found that the thoughts of Nawawi Sufism can be classified into nine parts, namely repentance, qana'ah, zuhud, studying the knowledge of Shariâ’a, practicing the Sunnah of the Prophet, tawakal, sincerity, ‘uzlah (isolating oneself), and take advantage of time. The concept of Maqamat Tasawuf Nawawi is an implementation of the basic concept of Sufism, namely piety and integration between Shari'a, tarekat and essence.

Abstract

Abstract: As the second legacy of Islamic teachings after the al-Qur’an, hadith is a set of teachings that provide various guiding solutions to navigate the dynamics of life. It is very reasonable if comprehending the hadith comprehensively is very necessary to find the meaning of a hadith based on the development and demands of the times. This paper discusses the construction of the understanding hadith offered by Yusuf al-Qardhawy in the book Kayfa Nata’amal ma’a al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah. From several methods offered by al-Qardawy in the book, the author specifies on one of his rules, namely al-Tamyiz Bayna al-Wasilah al-Mutaghayyirah wa al-Hadhf al-Thabit. By reading it from the perspective of constructivism, purely library research and analysis of intercontextual data, it is found that understanding in addition to al-Qardhawy in using this rule always relates hadith with something current and always up to date, he also tries to apply it to elastic traditions of regional conditions and open to the times.

Abstract

Da'wah is part of the commands of the Qur'an. Many of the several verses of the Qur'an describe the concept of da'wah. With the development of the era, the method or approach of da'wah must be able to reach the reality on the ground. The concept of da'wah brought by the Walisongo is certainly different in terms of approach, culture, society and strategy. In the QS. al-Nahl verse 125, it is explained about several methods of da'wah, namely wisdom, mauidzah hasanah and mujadalah. By using qualitative methods and content analysis, this article concludes that the da'wah approach in navigating the era of disruption can use the Walisongo's footsteps, namely the theological approach, scientific approach, institutional approach, social approach, cultural approach, structural approach, and economic approach. From these several approaches, da'i can pick and choose from the several approaches above to serve as a way of preaching in the era of disruption.
