Abstract

This article aims to examine the understanding of tabarruj hadiths and their correlation with the Tik-Tok social media. This is motivated by the tabarruj phenomenon which is heavily influenced by up-to-date trends and styles, which often appear on social media, especially Tik-Tok. By using qualitative methods and the science approach of ma’ani al-hadith, this study concludes that: First, the hadiths that talk about tabarruj have forbidden tabarruj actions with the threat of not going to heaven, such as dressing naked because the clothes are too minimal, thin, and see-through, clothes that are too tight which stimulate men because some of their private parts are open, walking with waddling, tattooing and changing limbs to beautify themselves, and so on. Second, what this hadith says resonates with Tik-Tok social media users, especially women who often use thick make-up, contact lenses, false eyelashes, display beauty to make them look attractive, show off jewelry that should be hidden, wear tight clothes with excessive swaying so that showing curves. This kind of tabarruj actually exceeds the tabarruj that occurred in the era of ignorance which only showed the jewelry and neck when veiled.

Abstract

This article examines the interpretation of the Quran in Minangkabau from the perspectives of the method of interpretation, interpretation techniques, and interpretation schools of thought. Exegesis of the Quran is one of the sciences that Urang Siak (students) must study in the surau. With a passion for the Quran, literature relating to the Quran was discovered, which is the product of scholars from Minangkabau. The literature extends from Mahmud Yunus' Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim to Hamka's Tafsir al-Azhar. This research is a library research using primary sources such as exegesis books by Minangkabau scholars, including Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim by Mahmud Yunus, Tafsir al-Azhar by Hamka, Risālat al-Qawl al-Bayān by Sulaiman al-Rasuli, Kitāb Tafsīr al-Burhān by Abdul Karim Amrullah, and Tafsir al-Azhar by Hamka. The secondary sources include exegesis books and other relevant books. The research is phenomenological and employs a scientific approach to interpretation and a historical approach. The findings indicate that textual interpretation predominates over contextual interpretation. Textual interpretation can be separated into conventional textual interpretation and contemporary textual interpretation. The traditional textual perspective interprets the Quran literally, whereas the contemporary textual perspective employs rational thought as well. The tradition of Minangkabau scholars interpreting the Quran began in the early 19th century, and the Minangkabau interpretation of the Quran cannot be isolated from the influence of Egyptian scholars' interpretations, particularly Tafsr Jallain.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the relevance of the meaning of mahabbah in QS. Ali 'Imran [3]: 31 with the tradition of reciting blessings in Belitang OKU East South Sumatra. This is motivated by a tradition that has developed in the community in the form of reciting prayers in an assembly called Shalawat Pendowo Limo. While the motivation for the establishment of the Islamic Prayer Council was to introduce the figure of the Prophet to the general public, especially to the younger generation with the aim of making them love and emulate the Prophet more. By using qualitative methods and types of library research, by tracing data in the form of written sources which are corroborated by interview results, this study concludes that: first, mahabbah in QS. Ali 'Imran [3]: 31 means the feeling of love for Allah which is proven by obeying all His commands and following the revelations or teachings revealed to His Prophet Muhammad SAW. The love for Allah is incomplete if you do not also love the Prophet Muhammad by proving that he always prays for him. Second, the meaning of mahabbah in QS. Ali 'Imran [3]: 31 is very relevant to the goals and motivations for praying for the Belitang OKU East Sumatra community. The proof of this mahabbah can be seen from the hope of increasing love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW and hope for Allah so that one day he will get the Prophet's intercession on the Day of Judgment by praying to him. Even though it is not certain that everyone who recites prayers loves Allah and His Messenger, at least efforts to love Allah and His Messenger can be instilled with joint prayers through the Shalawat Pendowo Limo Assembly.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the relevance of hifdzun nafs to the law of qishash from Ibn ‘Asyur’s perspective in the tafsir al-Tahrir wa al-Tanwir. Ibn ‘Asyur himself was famous as a mufasir who focused on Maqashid al-Syari’ah so that he also expressed the results of his thoughts about Maqashid in the form of interpretation. By using qualitative methods, pure literature research, this article concludes that according to Ibn ‘Asyur, qishash functions to protect human life, because with qishash people are afraid of committing murder. If a person knows that he will survive death, he will dare to commit murder in the hope that the punishment will be light. Therefore, the qishash law that was implemented has strong relevance to hifduzn nafs, namely avoiding bloodshed as in the case of the murders that occurred during the Jahiliyyah era, which resulted in the loss of many lives. The qishash law is one way to protect the soul (hifdzun nafs), by punishing people who commit murder and other criminal acts, with appropriate punishments for the benefit and survival of humans.

Abstract

This article aims to discover the meaning of the hadith regarding adultery as a fate from Imam An-Nawawi's perspective. The use of hadith is directed at contextualizing contemporary meaning using a descriptive-analytical ma'ani al-hadith approach. Thus, this article concludes that Imam An-Nawawi's perspective on the hadith regarding adultery as destiny can be divided into two, namely adultery majazi (small) and adultery intrinsic (large). The meaning of the word destiny in adultery is not destiny as a concrete decree, but is a figure of speech so that Muslims are always careful to protect themselves. Imam An-Nawawi's view of the adultery hadith is in line with the current context, where the development of technology and information has provided an illustration of how difficult it is to protect all parts of the body from something that is forbidden. In this modern era, adultery can be found in various applications that display photos and videos easily. Fornication of hearing is also possible with just one click and various types of audio will appear, adultery of the heart by watching a video which then gives rise to feelings of wanting to commit immorality, which in the end will lead to real adultery. The hadith regarding adultery above shows that every act of adultery must be committed, and the private part will be the judge of whether it is genuine adultery or majazi, it all depends on the limits of the ability to restrain each individual's desires and desires.

Abstract

Abstract This paper seeks to explore the tabi’ tabi’in interpretation methodology, namely Tafsir al-Qur’an al-Adzim by Ibnu Abi Hatim al-Razi. By reading it from a constructivism perspective with an analysis of intertextuality data, the writer can identify the existence of Ibnu Abi Hatim interpretation which only uses the interpretation of bi al-ma’tsur as a source of interpretation, which is based on an explanation of the Prophet’s hadith, the opinions of friends, tabi’in, and the stories of israiliyyat. While the effort in explaining al-Qur’an, the method carried by Ibnu Abi Hatim is the method of ijmali, which is interpreting verses of the Qur'an in a concise, concise, and not lengthy language. In addition, Ibnu Abi Hatim also used the muqaran method by quoting and comparing the opinions of friends and the tabi’in. For his interpretation style, the interpretation of Ibnu Abi Hatim did not reach a certain scientific discipline style, only limited to the interpretation of geographical and traditionalist locations, namely interpreting the al-Qur’an by tending to use narrations from the hadiths of the Prophet, friends, and tabi’in.

Abstract

This article discusses the eco-sufism that Hamka built in his book Tafsir al-Azhar. This is motivated by the issue of environmental damage caused by, among other things, the anthropocentric paradigm, namely the notion that views humans as the center of the universe and has the right to exploit nature without considering its sustainability. Meanwhile, the hallmark of Hamka's interpretation of the verses of the Qur'an, which has a Sufi tendency, is trying to respond to environmental damage by offering sustainable environmental conservation efforts. Using a descriptive-explorative thematic method, Hamka built five efforts in preserving the environment with a Sufism approach, namely: paying attention to nature will strengthen faith in Allah; natural order is a form of God's existence; contemplation of nature will cause ‘isyq (longing) to God; managing nature as a provision to return to the presence of God; and being grateful for the results of natural resources by sharing them with others. In the interpretation of the verses about the five efforts, it appears that Hamka's interp retation tries to respond to environmental damage with a Sufi approach, which is seen as contributing to environmental conservation in a sustainable manner. Hamka provides a paradigm for balancing human rights and obligations to nature based on the holy book al-Qur'an so that it can be used as a guide for all Indonesians to realize a polite and moderate Islam towards nature by paying attention to environmental conservation.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the concept of religious tolerance through the interpretation of the Qur'an by analyzing Kim Knott's thoughts about insider/outsider. This is motivated by a social fact that is being polemic and viral regarding the request of one Christian to the Indonesian Ministry of Religion to reform the interpretation of the Qur'an. By using qualitative methods and content analysis techniques as well as Kim Knott's insider/outsider perspective approach, this article concludes that the insider/outsider perspective on the open letter of Christians sent to the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs to reform the interpretation of the Qur’an, is seen as dividing religious communities in Indonesia. Although it received support from the majority of Christians (outsiders) and claimed that its request to the Ministry of Religious Affairs specifically to revise the interpretation of QS. al-A’raf [7]: 157 is an act of tolerance, in fact what he did was an act of intolerance that could damage harmony between Muslims and Christians. In the insider's perspective, the request is seen as too interfering with Islamic teachings and ignoring one of the indicators of religious moderation promoted by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, namely tolerance. Some posts uploaded related to the request to reform the interpretation of the Qur’an on social media have indirectly become an embryo of intolerance of interfaith harmony, especially between Muslims and Christians.
