Abstract

Abstract

Keywords: Hazardous waste.

Abstract

Bengkalis district has a population of 690,366 people spread in the area of 11,481.77 Km2. Natural resources potencial in this area is quite large, so that local Government has a high commitment to meet the demand of local food, and even regional. To implement this goal, local government will build irrigation systems to irrigate 1,500 ha of rice field land which decrease of water in dry season. However, there are some constraints experienced are : the river for irrigation water source is located near the beach, so it is influenced by tidal sea water. Besides, the peat moss water contains a high organic matter and acid. To solve this problem, we need to treat the river water for irrigation, so that its quality meets the requirement for agriculture. While tidal conditions can be set with the pumping time. From the results of the research in the laboratory showed that the river water pH = 4 while the river water quality standard for the rice field is the appropriate 5 - 9 mg/l. Therefore, the required water treatment to raise pH to comply with the standard quality of water for agriculture. Research conducted in the village Langkat, district Siak Kecil. This activity includes laboratory research, design creation tool to increase pH river water irrigation, tools development, up to the trials and monitoring. Keywords : Peningkatan Kualitas Air, Irigasi Persawahan, Kontrol pH

Abstract

Ariobimo building, now has a domestic wastewater treatment plant which is equipped with the system re-use. At first, the process of wastewater treatment technology using activated sludge process, while the system re-use of wastewater using a combination of chemical-physical processes, namely the process of coagulation-flocculation followed by sedimentation, filtration and adsorption last with. Because this process is not optimal, then this WWTP outlet and the quality of its water re-use can not meet the expected quality standards. After the improvement of the existing activated sludge process, the quality of this WWTP outlet can meet the quality standards of waste discharges. While the process of coagulation-flocculation is replaced with biofilter process using  honey comb tube media, the quality of the effluent can meet water quality standards. Keywords :Domestic wastewater, process modification,  water reused.

Abstract

Denpasar is one of the number one tourist destination in the world. This city needs a lot of water resources with high quality to meet the needs of the hotel. While the Bali island with a relatively small area can not save the water resources in large numbers, the good management of water resources and efficiency use of water is realy needed. Hotel is one of the largest water users in the city of Denpasar. The water source is from deep ground water and PDAM with the same quality. If someday deficit water and sea water intrusion in Denpasar happened, the hotel will be accused as one major cause of this problem. To overcome these problems, environmentally friendly hotel management will be needed to achieve "GREEN HOTEL & RESORT" programs in Bali, such as water usage efficiency, water recycle and protect environment from wastewater polution. To achieve this without reducing the amount of water consumption, can be done by using the technology of wastewater reuse, with technology Waste Water Treatment Installation (WWTP) and continued with the water quality improvement technology using multi media filters, ultra-filtration or reverse osmosis. Key words : Hotel yang ramah lingkungan, re-use air limbah

Abstract

Muncar area is a regional fish producer. There, we can find big and small scale fish processing industries and even home industries. Those industry produce on the average 1,300 ton/day processed fish. Production activities caused environmental pollution, especially air, water and soil pollution. Source of this pollution are from transportation movement and developmnet of raw material, quality control activities to employee’s activities (domestic waste). Right now the process of waste management is so little and people’s understanding about wastewater treatment (IPAL) and waste management system is so limited. Almost all waste from this area is flowed away to the public canal. Flowing away waste directly without any process could increase environmental pollution around industrial location. This paper explains how big the potential waste water pollution, kind and charactestic of pollution from fish processing industries and doing waste management evaluation in fish processing indutries in Muncar. Italso shows sort of pollution effect as a result of disposing fish processing industry waste in Muncar.   Kata Kunci : Industri Pengolahan Ikan, Dampak Pencemaran Limbah Industri.

Abstract

Hospital is playing an important role in serving people who need to get health. On the other hand its occurrence causes some problems as well. One of them is the infectious wastewaters which are potential to cause a dangerous effect for human life. A lot of hospitals in Indonesia do not have the proper wastewater treatment plant yet. The local hospital of County Timika has already had a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), but until now the capacity of the unit can not fulfil the required level of environmental standard yet. One of the problems is the technically improper treatment processes. To solve the problems, the WWTP must be redesigned and modifief by using a combination technique of anaerobik and aerobic biofilter treatment processes. The newly proposed design process of WWTP for the local hospital in TImika has already prepared to be applied. Keywords : Medical Wastewater Treatment Process, anerobic/aerobic biofilter

Abstract

Fish processing industries in Muncar-Banyuwangi have increased the welfare of the people there and made this area known as the major fish producer in Indonesia. More than 50% of its production has been exported to many countries and the rest has fulfilled domestic need. Although fish processing industry has developed quickly, its industrial pollution effect hasn’t been handled well so that it polluted the surrounding envionment especially water surface. It happened because of using water for industrial need reached 17.883,2 m3 /day and almost all industries haven’t provided a good wastewater installalion so that the environment couldn’t handle and neutrilize the wastes. This paper explains condition of fish processing industries and potential load of the wastewater produced by them. Keywords : Industri Pengolahan Ikan, Limbah Cair Industri, Pencemaran Lingkungan, Informasi.
