Abstract

Kata kunci: cascara; curahpoh; kombucha; kopi; limbah AbstractCoffee is a commodity that plays an important role in the Indonesian plantation sector. Bondowoso coffee production in 2023 will be 10,420 tons, the third largest amount of coffee production in East Java after Malang and Banyuwangi. Curahpoh Village is one of the robusta and arabica coffee producing areas located at the foot of Mount Argopuro, Curahdami District, Bondowoso Regency, East Java Province. Currently, Curahpoh Village farmers who are members of the LMDH Argo Santoso Farmers group have cultivated coffee as a potential source of income. However, coffee cultivation and post-harvest processing activities produce waste in the form of coffee skins which can cause pollution and environmental damage. Coffee skin waste can be processed further so that it has higher value. This program aims to train the people of Curahpoh Village to process coffee skin waste into kombucha cascara. There were 20 participants who took part in this activity. This program is implemented through training, practice and evaluation stages. The program results showed that participants were able to master the technique of making kombucha cascara. Participants even innovated and socialized cascara kombucha products to the wider community. Keywords: cascara; coffee; curahpoh; kombucha; waste

Abstract

Arabica coffee cultivation is limited by altitude, which affects its production. Some farmers in Jember Regency are innovating to grow arabica coffee in the lowland, but the potential for leaf rust disease is quite high. Plant natural resistance can be enhanced by adding minerals formulation (containing silica, iodine, and calcium). This research aimed to determine which phase is more effective for applying mineral formulation that induces plant resistance. The formulation was tested on arabica coffee plants grown at the lowland (460 masl) in Jember Regency on 12 years old (y.o) mature and 1 y.o immature plants. One formulation was dissolved in 14 L of water and applied by foliar feeding. The effect was analyzed using two-way T-test of two samples assuming unequal variances at 95% confidence level to determine the differences. The analysis showed that the plants supplemented with the formulation could increase the variables that supported the natural resistance of plants (both mechanically and through the production of chemical compounds), such as polyphenol content, flavonoids, antioxidant activity, total dissolved protein, vitamin C, reducing sugar, lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose, and iodine content in the plant. The response of the formulation application showed that the most resistance variables was better in 1 y.o immature plants than in 12 y.o mature plants. The application of mineral formulation in immature phase will have a better impact on increasing natural resistance, and it has the potential to be used as a supplement for arabica coffee plants cultivated in the lowland.

Abstract

AbstractThe abuse of narcotics and illegal drugs is an act that violates the laws and regulations of Indonesia. This criminal offense not only harms individuals but also has a negative impact on society and the state, making law enforcement against perpetrators critically important. This study aims to explain the consistency and relevance of evidence in proving narcotics abuse cases, utilizing witness testimonies and written evidence such as the Official Report of the Police Forensic Laboratory Examination and urine test results presented by the Public Prosecutor in court. The research employs a normative legal method with a descriptive approach, supported by primary data to complement secondary data, and is analyzed qualitatively using deductive reasoning. The results of the study indicate that the evidentiary strength of witness testimonies, the Official Report of the Forensic Laboratory Examination, urine test results, and clues derived from the correlation among these pieces of evidence play a crucial role in convincing the judge. Therefore, in assessing the consistency of such evidence, judges must act firmly, carefully, accurately, and wisely to ensure that the decisions rendered reflect both justice and material truth. Keywords: Drug Abuse, Evidence, Witness, Legal Proof, Trial AbstrakPenyalahgunaan narkotika dan obat-obatan terlarang ialah tindakan yang melanggar hukum dan aturan undang-undang di Indonesia. Abstract

Sumberejo Village holds significant potential in the agricultural sector, particularly in the cultivation of organic red rice managed by a local farmer group. However, the utilization of the harvest has remained limited to sales in the form of unhusked or milled rice, without further product diversification. To enhance value-added potential and competitiveness, an innovation was introduced to process organic red rice into healthy cereal products. The Community Service Program (KKN) of the University of Jember collaborated with local partners, including a farmer group, the women’s organization (PKK), and the youth association (Karang Taruna) of Sumberejo Village, to conduct education and training activities focused on producing organic red rice-based cereal. The program involved a village potential survey, formulation of the work plan, and hands-on training in production techniques, marketing strategies, and product packaging. The results indicate an increase in the community’s knowledge and skills in diversifying agricultural products. This initiative has successfully created opportunities for entrepreneurship based on local resources and has contributed to strengthening the village’s food security through the sustainable development of economically valuable products.

Abstract

This study discusses the implications of quasi-monopolies that arise due to Pertamina's dominance in the management of the oil and gas sector, especially related to the policy of regulating fuel imports through the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Number T-19/MG.05/WM. M/2025 dated July 17, 2025. A quasi-monopoly occurs when market dominance is achieved through administrative policies that limit market access for other business actors. This study uses a normative juridical approach, with qualitative-descriptive analysis of laws and regulations, legal literature, and policy documents. The results of the analysis show that the fuel import regulation policy that gives preference to Pertamina can hinder private investor participation, increase the risk of unfair competition, and create legal uncertainty, thereby contributing to declining investment interest. This study recommends policies to ensure fair market access, import transparency, contractual legal certainty, and periodic evaluation of policy impacts. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to minimize quasi-monopolies, encourage a healthy investment climate, and ensure sustainable national energy management

Abstract

This study presents the design and control of a seaweed dryer prototype powered by a hybrid energy source combining wind and photovoltaic (PV) systems. The prototype is developed to improve the efficiency and sustainability of seaweed drying processes in coastal and remote areas with limited grid access. The control system integrates several sensors and switch modules to enhance automation and operational reliability. A Low Voltage Disconnect (XH-M609) module is employed to protect the battery system by disconnecting the load when voltage drops below a safe threshold. A photocell sensor is used to detect sunlight intensity, allowing the system to operate the dryer only during adequate daylight, thereby conserving energy. Additionally, a rain drop sensor is integrated to pause the drying process during rainfall to prevent rehydration of the seaweed. A relay module is used to control the switching of dryer components based on real-time sensor feedback. The entire system is designed for both automatic and manual modes, ensuring flexibility for user intervention when necessary. Simulation and field test results show that the prototype can effectively utilize hybrid renewable energy sources while maintaining protection and adaptive control based on environmental conditions, offering a cost-efficient and eco-friendly solution for small-scale seaweed farmers
