Abstract

In the wiring harness door production activities, the problem that occurs is the lack of achievement of the production target of 6.19% or 6.15 units in January 2023. This is caused by differences in production output at each work station or track which are not balanced resulting in an accumulation of work in progress. In making line balancing, working time measurements are carried out in each wiring harness production operation on the man power production line by using a stopwatch. The purpose of this research is to determine the optimal wiring harness production line and increase the efficiency of wiring harness production according to the company's target line efficiency. The methods used in solving this problem are the ranked positional weight method and the largest candidate rule method. From the results of the line balancing analysis using the ranked positional weight method and the largest candidate rule method, an efficiency value of 96.33% is obtained, the resulting output is 144.5 wiring haness units with 12 work stations. These results are better than before using both methods

Abstract

General Background: In the concrete manufacturing industry, the reliance on machines for production activities necessitates a robust spare parts inventory management system to ensure operational continuity. Specific Background: However, fluctuating demand for spare parts often leads to overstock or stockout situations, significantly impacting inventory costs and cash flow. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies primarily focus on static inventory management approaches, neglecting the dynamic nature of spare parts demand in manufacturing environments. Aims: This research aims to optimize total inventory costs while determining efficient order and reorder point quantities by integrating the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method with continuous review techniques. Results: The findings reveal an optimal order quantity of 131 units and a reorder point of 18 units, resulting in a total inventory cost of IDR 2,414,609,989—an efficiency improvement of IDR 293,152,400, equivalent to an 11% cost saving compared to previous inventory management practices. Novelty: This study innovatively employs a probabilistic approach to account for demand variability, enhancing the accuracy of inventory control measures. Implications: The outcomes suggest that implementing the proposed inventory management strategy can mitigate the risks of overstocking and stockouts, ultimately fostering improved financial performance in the company. Furthermore, the research highlights the necessity for regular inventory reviews and suggests future studies to develop more dynamic inventory control models that incorporate price fluctuations for spare parts, thereby addressing potential risks associated with cost variability.

Abstract

General Background: Effective inventory management is crucial for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to address fluctuating demand and avoid shortages, especially in sectors like handcrafted products. Specific Background: In the context of PTK MSMEs (Karangtanjung Bag Craftsmen) in Sidoarjo Regency, bag product sales often vary monthly, necessitating accurate demand forecasting and optimal inventory levels. Knowledge Gap: While previous studies have explored demand prediction and inventory management, few have integrated advanced methodologies like Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Fuzzy Inventory approaches to cater specifically to SMEs in the handicraft sector. Aims: This research aims to predict the sales demand for bag products and establish safety inventory levels using ANN and Fuzzy Inventory methods, ultimately to control demand and reduce inventory costs. Results: The study yielded a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 45.031 from the ANN analysis, indicating a good forecasting performance, while the Fuzzy Inventory method calculated a safety stock of 43,647 pieces for 2023. Novelty: The integration of ANN for demand forecasting and Fuzzy Inventory for safety stock determination offers a novel approach for SMEs, enabling them to respond proactively to market fluctuations. Implications: The findings provide a framework for MSMEs to enhance their inventory management practices, thus improving operational efficiency and reducing holding costs, which can significantly impact their sustainability and competitiveness in the market.

Abstract

General Background: Fluctuations in raw material orders pose significant challenges for business operators, especially during peak seasons like holidays and the new year, often resulting in shortages or excess inventory. Specific Background: This study focuses on forecasting demand for wallet products from UMKM Pengerajin Dompet Khas Tanggulangin (PDKT) by comparing two forecasting methods: Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and the Multiplicative Holt-Winters method, which is tailored for seasonal data. Knowledge Gap: While existing literature recognizes the effectiveness of various forecasting techniques, there is limited comparative analysis of ANN and Holt-Winters specifically in the context of UMKM wallet production, highlighting the need for empirical validation. Aims: This research aims to identify the most accurate forecasting method to optimize raw material usage and production planning. Results: The findings indicate that the ANN method yields a superior Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 14.249, compared to 93.436 for the Holt-Winters method, establishing its higher predictive accuracy. Novelty: The study contributes to the field by providing a comparative analysis of forecasting methods tailored to the specific context of UMKM, demonstrating the efficacy of ANN over traditional methods. Implications: These results suggest that adopting ANN for demand forecasting can significantly enhance inventory management and production efficiency for PDKT MSMEs, ultimately leading to better resource allocation and reduced operational costs.

Abstract

In the face of fierce global competition, construction industry companies such as PT XYZ require efficient production machinery to increase productivity. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of batching plant machines at PT XYZ using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method and identify improvements through Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The batching plant machine often experiences downtime, especially on line five, which hampers production performance. The OEE method was used to measure three main aspects: availability, performance, and quality, with an average OEE result of 91.34%, which indicates good performance but still below the company's internal standards. Fishbone diagram analysis identified the main causal factors of downtime, while AHP was used to prioritize improvements. The AHP results showed that developing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was the best strategy to reduce downtime, with a weight of 39.8% and consistency of 2%. This research suggests the implementation of SOPs to improve machine effectiveness and maintain optimal productivity at PT XYZ.

Abstract

The distribution of sulfuric acid raw materials is still conducted conventionally and faces challenges regarding the quantity of supply for each product. Therefore, this research was conducted to help create a mathematical model for the distribution of sulfuric acid using the Goal Programming method with the assistance of LINGO 18.0 software. Goal Programming serves to minimize deviations from limits and targets based on priorities in order to maximize profit and achieve the optimal quantity of sulfuric acid in the distribution of sulfuric acid raw materials, as well as to supply several fertilizers containing sulfuric acid. The research results indicate that the annual sales revenue target of 982,937,304 USD was achieved without any deviations. Most of the optimal production targets for products X1 to X8 were also met, with deviation variables showing no shortfall in production quantities for these products. However, for product X2, there remains a production shortfall of 60,096.15 tons to reach the target of 405,823 tons.

Abstract

Berdasarkan survey di MGMP Biologi di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat diperoleh data bahwa guru-guru biologi disana mengalami kesulitan dalam membuat perangkat pembelajaran biologi yang berbasis contoh-contoh kontekstual. Maka dari itu tim pengabdian FKIP Universitas Jambi merasa terpanggil untuk membantu guru-guru biologi tersebut. Metode pelatihan yang akan dilaksanakan di MGMP Tanjung jabung Barat adalah mengindentifikasi materi-materi biologi yang memerlukan contoh-contoh kontekstual. Kemudian mendesain pembelajaran biologi dengan memasukkan contoh-contoh kontekstual. Memberikan ketrampilan mengindentifikasi contoh-contoh kontekstual yang dapat dijadikan media yang ada dilingkungan sekitar. Mengevaluasi ketercapaian peningkatan pembelajaran biologi melalui contoh-contoh kontekstual. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 31 juli 2019 bertempat di SMA N 1 Tanjung jabung barat. Diikuti oleh 20 orang guru biologi yang tergabung dalam MGMP (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran) Biologi. Kegiatan PPM ini dibuka oleh Ketua MGMP Tanjung Jabung barat dan dihadiri oleh Kepala SMA N 1 Tanjung Jabung Barat. Dalam kegiatan ini diikuti secara antusias oleh guru-guru biologi. Materi disampaikan oleh bapak Ali sadikin, M.Pd tentang peningkatan pembelajaran biologi melalui contoh-contoh kontekstual. Diawali dengan materi pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual secara umum kemudian lebih ditekankan pada learning comunity yang merupakan bagian penting dalam pembelajaran kontekstual. Disini guru sangat antusias karena guru diajarkan bagaimana mencari literasi dengan sci-hub, dan pdf drive. Guru sangat mengikuti dan bertanya tentang bagaimana menggunakan sci-hub untuk mencari jurnal internasional dan nasional. Ditambah penggunaan pdf drive untuk mencari buku-buku elektronik secara gratis tanpa perlu membeli. Guru-guru mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian ini sampai selesai dan berharap tahun depan diadakan lagi. The Pangkal Babu Mangrove Forest has an important role in a fish habitat that is closely related to the livelihoods of fishermen so it has an overall economic relationship. This study aims to analyze the condition of mangrove forests, the triangulation relationship between mangrove forests and fish resources, and the community's economy as well as forms of local wisdom in protecting and preserving mangrove forests. This research was conducted in the Pangkal Babu Mangrove forest area, Tungkal Ilir District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency. The method in this study is a survey method. The sampling technique for the condition of the mangrove forest was using the Line Transect Plot method at 3 different stations. The data analyzed included the density of mangrove forests, fishery resources, the economy, and the local wisdom of the community. The results showed that at station I the condition of mangrove vegetation in Pangkal Babu was in moderate criteria with 1,467 trees/ha, station II was in very dense criteria with 3,367 trees/ha, and station III was in moderate criteria with 1,000 trees/ha. Fishery production for 5 years is 93,221 kg with many trips of 2,115 and a CPUE value of 44.13 kg/trip. Fishery production has exceeded the sustainable potential both biologically (MSY = 82,297 kg) and economically (MEY = 82,296 kg). The value of the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.82 or 82%, which indicates that the fluctuation in fishery production is caused by the area of mangrove forests by 82%.

Abstract

Salah satu mata pelajaran yang diajarkan di Sekolah Menengah Tingkat Atas adalah Biologi. Biologi mempunyai karakteristik berupaya untuk mengenal mahluk hidup dan proses kehidupannya di lingkungan, sehingga memerlukan pendekatan dan metode yang memberi ciri dan dasar kerja dalam pengembangan konsep. Untuk itu diperlukan pendekatan dan metode yang memberi ciri dan dasar kerja dalam pengembangan konsep. Salah satu upaya untuk pengembangan konsep adalah penggunaan media pembelajaran. Salah satu media yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi terutama untuk materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup adalah herbarium. Herbarium merupakan media pembelajaran yang praktis dan ekonomis, karena dapat digunakan, baik di kelas maupun di laboratorium. Hal ini akan mengatasi alokasi waktu pembelajaran yang terbatas dan keselamatan siswa bisa diantisipasi dibandingkan apabila pelaksanaannya siswa langsung diterjunkan ke lapangan. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memanfaatkan tumbuhan yang ada disekitar sekolah menjadi media pembelajaran berupa Herbarium. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah ceramah, diskusi dan praktek. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan meliputi: pengurusan izin administrasi , mempersiapkan bahan dan alat, serta pembuatan herbarium. Pelaksanaan pengabdian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 14 Agustus 2018. Pelatihan diikuti 32 orang. Pelatihan diawali dengan pemberian materi tentang media pembelajaran khususnya herbarium mengunakan ppt dan video. Selanjutnya para peserta membuat herbarium. Pembuatan herbarium diawali dengan koleksi sampel tumbuhan yang ada di sekitar sekolahan, selanjutnya dilakukan pengepresan dan pengeringan menggunakan sinar matahari, setelah specimen kering selanjutnya di lakukan penempelan dan pemberian label. Secara umum pelatihan berjalan lancar dan peserta menjadi paham tentang pembuataan herbarium dan dapat menggunakan nya sebagai media pembelajaran.
