Abstract

Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) infections are still a public health problem, especially in occupational groups that have direct contact with the soil such as rice farmers. A humid and muddy rice field environment and a lack of personal hygiene can increase the risk of worms. The purpose of the study was to determine personal hygiene and STH infection in rice farmers in East Bulotadaa Village, Gorontalo City. Types of quantitative research with a descriptive survey approach. The research sample of 38 rice farmers was selected using the purposive sampling technique. Personal hygiene data and health complaints were obtained through interviews, the identification of worm eggs was carried out through laboratory examination using the flotation method on farmer nail samples. The results of the personal hygiene research on farmers did not meet the requirements as many as 34 respondents (89.5%). Poor hand washing habits were 27 respondents (71.1%), poor nail cutting habits were 35 respondents (92.1%), and poor use of gloves and footwear were 30 respondents (78.9%). Laboratory examination, 14 respondents (36.8%) were positive for STH worm eggs and 24 respondents (63.2%) were negative. The eggs of the worms found include Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, and Hookworm. A total of 18 respondents (47.4%) experienced health complaints such as itching of the skin, diarrhea, weakness and easily broken nails. In conclusion, most rice farmers have poor personal hygiene and STH infection is still found on the farmers' nails. It is recommended to improve personal hygiene by getting used to washing hands with soap, cutting nails, and using personal protective equipment to prevent worms.

Abstract

The Mobile JKN application as a digital health service innovation still faces various obstacles, such as feature limitations, accounts that often exit automatically, and application function limitations. This problem shows that the quality of the system, information quality, and service quality are not optimal which has the potential to reduce user satisfaction, especially Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the satisfaction of Mobile JKN application users Generation Z at the Central City Health Center, Gorontalo City. Types of quantitative research, analytical survey research methods with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study is all generation Z participants at the health facility of the Kota Tengah Health Center of Gorontalo City who use Mobile JKN and actively visit in 2025 amounting to 152 people, the total sample is 111 respondents, with accidental sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using a Simple Linear Regression test. The results of the study showed that the quality of the system (p=0.047), the quality of information (p=0.004), and the quality of service (p=0.011) had a significant influence on the satisfaction of users of the JKN Mobile Application. The results of the determination coefficient showed that the quality of the system had an effect of 3.6%, information quality of 7.3%, and service quality of 5.8% on user satisfaction. In conclusion, system quality, information quality, and service quality have a positive influence on user satisfaction in Generation Z at the Kota Tengah Health Center, Gorontalo City. BPJS Kesehatan is recommended to improve application stability, clarity of information, and service response. Abstract

Impaired lung function in workers is influenced by factors of the working environment and individual characteristics. At the rice mill in Kabila District, Bone Bolango Regency, problems were found in the form of high levels of rice dust of the PM₁₀ fraction. This study aims to analyze the determinants of lung function disorders in rice milling workers in Kabila District, Bone Bolango Regency. Analytical observational research methods with cross-sectional design. The research population of all workers in five rice milling units, namely Mustika, Mutiara, Oluhuta, Helumo, and HP. Using a total sampling technique of 33 workers. Data was collected using interview guidelines, observation sheets, Peak Flow Meter to measure lung function, PM 10 fraction dust measuring device. Data analysis was carried out using the Fisher Exact test. The results showed that there was no association between the level of rice dust of the PM₁₀ fraction (p=0.136) and working period (p=0.359) with impaired lung function, while length of work (p=0.036) had a significant relationship with impaired lung function in rice milling workers. The conclusions showed that length of work was associated with impaired lung function in rice milling workers, while the level of PM₁₀ fraction rice dust and the working period were not associated with impaired lung function. It is recommended that workers limit working hours and use PPE consistently, and rice mill owners need to regulate working hours and provide a healthy working environment.

Abstract

Workers’ compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) procedures is an important aspect of preventing occupational accidents, particularly in the electricity sector, which involves high levels of occupational risk. Workers’ compliance may be influenced by external factors, such as work supervision, and internal factors, such as safety motivation. This study aimed to analyze the effect of work supervision and safety motivation on workers’ compliance with OSH procedures at PT PLN Nusa Daya Gorontalo Service Unit. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population and sample consisted of all 89 Technical Service (Yantek) workers, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that 69 respondents (77.5%) perceived work supervision as good, 42 respondents (47.2%) had a moderate level of safety motivation, and 47 respondents (52.8%) demonstrated a moderately compliant level of OSH procedure adherence. The analysis showed that work supervision did not have a statistically significant effect on workers’ compliance (p = 0.185; r = 0.142; R² = 0.020). In contrast, safety motivation had a statistically significant effect on workers’ compliance (p = 0.041; r = 0.217; R² = 0.047). Therefore, safety motivation was identified as a factor associated with workers’ compliance with OSH procedures, whereas the contribution of supervision in the present model was not statistically significant. Improving compliance requires strengthening safety motivation through OSH training, routine safety briefings, safety communication, and the development of a consistent safety culture.
