Abstract

Numerous initiatives were carried out to enhance rice production in swampy areas, which required the implementation of suitable technology. The use of adaptive variety, soil, and water management have been reported as the main keys to agricultural culture on tidal swamps. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the effect of several levels of substance peat humic application on the growth and yield of rice in tidal swamps. A completely randomized design was also used with two factors and four replications between March to June 2022, in Karya Bakti, Rantau Rasau sub-district of Tanjabtim District, Jambi Province. The first factor was varieties IR-64 and Inpara-4, while the second was the use of humic substance in peat consisting of 0 g/plant, 0.04 g/plant, 0.08 g/plant, and 0.12 g/plant. The cultivation process included the planting of paddy seeds within buckets containing 10 kg of soil. The result showed that the optimal yield of rice varieties IR-64 and Inpara-4, when subjected to peat humic substance in saturated soil culture, was achieved at 0.12 g/plant. This was substantiated by the enhanced uptake of essential nutrients such as N, P, and K in the plants, resulting in superior plant biomass compared to other concentration levels.

Abstract

Red chili is a crucial horticultural crop in Indonesia. The increasing demand for high-quality chili necessitates seeds with optimal germination and growth. Spirulina platensis, a microalgae species, can be cultivated in waste media such as Sugar Mill Effluent (SME). Moreover, Spirulina contains phytohormones that can stimulate seed germination. This study investigated the impact of various concentrations and soaking times of S. platensis solution on red chili seed quality. A factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed with 5 levels of microalgae biomass concentration: control (untreated seeds), 0, 30, 45, and 60% and 3 levels of soaking time: 1, 2, and 3 hours. Data analysis involved ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc tests at a 5% level using GraphPad Prism version 5.01. The results demonstrated seed priming application using S. platensis significantly enhanced seed vigor. The S. platensis treatment at 60% concentration for 2 hours significantly reduced MGT by 1 day, while 30%-2 hours and 60%-3 hours treatments exhibited the highest germination rate (100%), vigor index (49.17% in 30%-2 hours), seed growth simultaneity (85.56% in 60%-2 hours and 83.33% in 30%-2 hours), and growth rate (11.48% in 60%-3 hours and 11.11% in 30%-2 hours), with the 60%-3 hours treatment showing the longest shoot (2.73 cm) and radicle (8.13 cm) lengths, compared to the control. These findings suggest that S. platensis priming can be a promising approach for improving seed quality and crop establishment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SD Negeri Jawisari, Limbangan District, Kendal Regency, which is one of the Penggerak Schools. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SD Negeri Jawisari is carried out through four main stages: planning, organizing, mobilizing, and supervising. The thorough planning involves all teachers in the preparation of administration, academic supervision, budget management, and periodic evaluations. The organization of implementation includes the determination of human resources, organizational development, assignment, and delegation of authority adjusted to the teachers' competencies. The mobilization of implementation is carried out through guidance and motivation from the principal to ensure optimal understanding and execution of the curriculum. Supervision is done by setting assessment instruments, periodic evaluations, and follow-ups involving all relevant parties. The main challenges faced include limited resources and a lack of teacher training. In conclusion, the success of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation highly depends on the effective role of the principal, active involvement of teachers, and support from parents and the community.

Abstract

Objectives: This study analyzes customer migration patterns among five major banks (BCA, BNI, BRI, BSI, and Bank Mandiri) in Batam’s strategic maritime economic zone using a Markov Chain model to assess long-term market dynamics and financial inclusion implications. The research aims to quantify interbank transition probabilities, to identify key switching drivers, and to develop targeted policy recommendations. Methods: Using a quantitative descriptive-analytical approach, we collected structured questionnaires from 250 Batam Institute of Technology academic members, capturing historical bank transitions and 5-point Likert-scale evaluations of eight switching factors. These factors included ATM/branch proximity, administrative fees, mobile/internet banking service, salary/ scholarship payment linkages, promotions/rewards, interest rates, family/friend recommendations, and Sharia compliance. Data were analyzed via Markov Chain modeling to project steady-state distributions. Results: The transition matrix revealed BCA’s superior retention (85.1%) compared to peers, with steady-state projections showing market dominance (32.44%), followed by Bank Mandiri (26.51%) and BSI (26.39%). Salary linkages (mean score: 3.45) and ATM accessibility (3.16) emerged as primary retention drivers, while BCA’s digital services (3.40) and low fee perception (3.67) explained its competitive edge. Paradoxically, BSI capitalizes on institutional salary systems (4.27) despite moderate Sharia compliance ratings (2.87). Implications: Three key policy directions emerge: hybrid digital-physical banking for coastal communities, Islamic financial ecosystem development, and fee transparency regulations. The study advances Markov Chain applications in behavioral finance while providing SEZ-specific insights for inclusive banking strategies.
