Abstract

Civil Servant Performance at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Serang Regency is an important aspect in supporting the effectiveness of public services. Improving the quality of service, discipline, and employee job satisfaction requires leadership support that is able to adapt to organizational conditions and needs. This study aims to analyze the influence of situational leadership and work discipline on employee performance, both directly and through job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The method used is a quantitative approach with an associative research type. The population and sample in this study amounted to 91 Civil Servants at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Serang Regency with a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method with the help of the SmartPLS 4.0 application. The results of the study indicate that situational leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance and job satisfaction. Work discipline has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, but does not significantly affect employee performance. Job satisfaction does not significantly affect employee performance and is unable to mediate the relationship between situational leadership and work discipline on employee performance. These findings indicate that improvements in employee performance are predominantly influenced by the implementation of effective situational leadership.

Abstract

This community engagement program sought to strengthen the competitiveness and work readiness of 30 Islamic boarding school students through AI-based edutechnopreneurship supported by a neurocoaching approach. The program addressed key challenges faced by pesantren, including limited vocational skills, low digital literacy, and lack of entrepreneurial mindset among students. Activities included training in halal bakery production, AI-assisted digital marketing, and Sharia-compliant business bookkeeping, implemented through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework. The integration of hands-on practice and neurocoaching reinforced students' growth mindset, motivation, and entrepreneurial skills. Pre-post assessments revealed that 86.7% of participants achieved competency across technical, digital, and managerial domains, surpassing the initial target of 80%. Outcomes included enhanced vocational abilities in bakery production, improved digital marketing capacity through social media and e-commerce platforms, better understanding of Sharia financial recording, and the establishment of a small-scale bakery unit. This unit serves as a foundation for advancing pesantren-based economic empowerment and provides a sustainable business model for future replication in similar Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology has increased access to online gambling, enabling individuals to participate through computers or smartphones without physical or social constraints. This study examines the rising involvement of Millennial and Generation Z youth in online slot gambling in Bojonegara District, Serang–Banten, focusing on their motivations and the resulting economic and psychological impacts. Using a qualitative case-study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with ten adolescent gamblers, supported by participant observation and document review to enhance contextual depth and triangulation. Findings show that youth are primarily motivated by entertainment, the desire to relieve stress, and hopes of gaining quick financial rewards. However, the consequences are largely harmful, including significant financial losses, growing debt, heightened stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms, and weakened social and family relationships. These outcomes demonstrate that online slot gambling disrupts both the economic stability and psychosocial well-being of young people. The study’s novelty lies in its integration of micro-economic vulnerability with behavioral motivations among Millennial and Gen Z gamblers—an area rarely explored in the Indonesian context. The results also highlight how digital gambling platforms create addictive ecosystems that particularly appeal to younger users. The study emphasizes the urgency of stronger regulation, increased public awareness, and improved mental-health support to reduce the risks of online gambling among youth.
