Abstract

Penggunaan asam malat sebagai agen pengikat alami masih relative sedikit. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini difokuskan pada pengaruh suhu dan lama waktu pengempaan terhadap sifat papan serat kerapatan sedang dari campuran serat kayu mahang 90% dan serat bambu petung 10% dengan kadar perekat asam malat 25%. Faktor pada penelitian ini adalah suhu pengempaan 140ºC, 160ºC dan 180ºC serta lama waktu pengempaan yang diberikan 10 menit dan 15 menit. Sifat fisika dan mekanika papan serat diuji berdasarkan standart pengujian JIS A 5905. Peningkatan suhu dan lama waktu pengempaan memperlihatkan kenaikan sifat fisika dan mekanika papan serat yang dihasilkan. Kualitas papan serat optimum diperoleh pada kondisi suhu pengempaan 180ºC selama 15 menit dengan nilai pengembangan tebal 2,44%, penyerapan air 51,23%, kekuatan rekat internal 0,71 MPa, keteguhan patah 9,21 MPa dan keteguhan elastisitas 2,65 GPa.

Abstract

The main objectives of this study are to find out; 1) how is the students’ readinghabit, 2) how is the students’ reading comprehenaion achievement, 3) is there anysignificant correlation between reading habit and reading comprehension of 12thgrade students of MA. PP. Qodratullah. The writer used descriptive quantitatifdesign to describe the data. The population of the study was five classes of 12thgrade students of MA. PP. Qodratullah. The sample of this study was 168 students.The writer used questionnaire (Janthong, 2010) and reading test to collect the data.The test was administered once as post-test. Before the post-test was administered tothe sample students, the validity and reliability of the instruments were estimated.The result of the test were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment in SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science) 16.0. From the analysis, it was showed thatthe t-obtained was 0.309. It could be concluded that there was no significancecorrelation between the two variables since the t-obtained was higher than 0.05. Thefactors that influnced this condition were; 1) the misperception of the studentstoward good reading habits, 2) students preferred to read for pleasure (comics,newspapers, sport magazines), 3) the students preferred to read for pleasure, whilethe tests of this research were taken from reading for academic purpose materials.However, building a good reading habit is essential to be recommended because it isvery important to develop the students’ reading comprehension achievement.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to find out (a) to what extent the English textbooks used by the public senior high schools in Banyuasin matched the requirements of Curriculum 2013, (b) which textbooks met the objectives of TEFL based on Curriculum 2013, (c) what were the teachers’ perceptions of the English textbooks used by the public senior high schools in Banyuasin, (d) what were general qualities found out in the textbooks. Descriptive analytics and quantitative method were used in this research The samples were 22 teachers of English who taught at public senior high schools in Banyuasin. The data were based on (1) documentation, in terms of three English textbooks, (2) three questionnaires were used, a checklist for raters, teachers evaluation, and teachers ideas about general qualities. The results showed that (a) those three textbooks matched the requirement of the 2013 Curriculum, (b) the highest occurrence of the Kemendikbud textbook was 4.33 (good), Bumi Aksara was 3.87 (good), Erlangga was 3.49 (adequate) based on the scale which meant the textbooks met the objectives of TEFL stated in the newest curriculum, (c) teachers’ perceptions of the SMAN English textbooks were positive based on the requirements in the questionnaire of the three textbooks they evaluated, (d) there were some general qualities found out in the textbooks. Then, those three textbooks were recommended to use in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Language proficiency is a person’s skill in using a language for a specific purpose (Richards, 1997). One of the tests used to measure the students’ English proficiency is TOEFL. The purpose of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English. Over a period of three years from 2007 to 2009, one of the education Companies called Education First (EF) ranked the English proficiency among a broad population in 44 countries and territories. The results showed that Asia’s performance was lower than expected, in light of the amount spent on private English training and Indonesia was in the 34th rank or in the very low proficiency level out of 44 countries and territories in the survey (EF : 2011) There are many factors that might cause the students’ low proficiency in English, two of which are students’ motivation and attitude toward English. ‘Motivation’ is the reason or reasons behind one’s actions or behavior, it is a powerful affective variable in second language acquisition, and it has a great influence on second language learning. In order to collect the data, the researcher uses a motivation questionnaire to measure students’ motivation which consists of 40 structured questions (items) adapted from Ethel Ogane & Masako Sakamoto (1997). ‘Attitude’ is defined as a disposition or tendency to respond positively or negatively towards a certain thing (idea, object, person, or situation). In order to collect the data, the researcher uses an attitude questionnaire to measure students’ attitude. It consists of 33 structured questions (items) adapted from R. Narayanan (2008) which is developed from the Attitude/Motivation Test Battery of Gardner and Lambert and the questionnaires are calculated through Likert Scale. The population of this study is the 1st, 3rd, and 5th semester students of D3 Nursing School students which consists of 360 males and 742 females in the academic year of 2011/2012. The sample of this study consists of 91 students of 5 nursing science schools in Palembang. The result of the study shows that 25 (21.55%) students were in high motivation, 73 (62.93%) were in medium motivation, and 18 (15.51%) were in low motivation, while in attitude, it is found 21 (18.10%) in positive attitude toward English, 61 (52.60%) in neutral attitudes and 34 (29.30%) in negative attitude.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas gagasan radikalisasi demokrasi yang penting untuk kita pahami agar dapat ditangkap dimensi “ontologi” dan ciri utamanya. Proses radikalisasi demokrasi menghasilkan karakteristik utama, yaitu demokrasi radikal dan plural. Radikalisasi demokrasi mendapatkan justifikasinya untuk merevitalisasi perjuangan sosialis melawan kapitalisme dan mempromosikan perjuangan “gerakan sosial baru” yang demokratik: gerakan perkotaan, ekologi, anti-otoritarianisme, anti-kelembagaan, feminis, anti-rasis, dan (kelompok) minoritas seksual dan regional. Konsep demokrasi memiliki dua nilai fundamental yang instrinsik, yakni: kebebasan dan persamaan.Dalam hasil kajian, didiskusikan bagaimana kedua nilai, kebebasan dan persamaan, ketika berhubungan dengan sistem dan struktur politik, dengan merujuk untuk sebagian dari premis-premis dan praxis demokrasi yang sedang berjalan. Caranya, terutama dengan memusatkan perhatian pada dimensi moral dan ekonomi tempat akar-akar dari beragam bentuk penundukan (subordination) dan penindasan (oppression) tertanam dalam masyarakat kita. Jelas bahwa penundukan dan penindasan adalah antitesa dari semua gagasan tentang kebebasan dan persamaan. Namun demikian, radikalisasi demokrasi tetap mempertahankan prinsip-prinsip etika politik berupa kebebasan dan persamaan dan menuntut prinsip ini dapat diterapkan atau dipraktekkan dengan tepat

Abstract

The article consisted of controversial discussion on the status Pancasila. Its main problem is whther Pancasila maybe understood as an ideology or not. In this article, the solution in solving the controversial probelm is also offered. The transquality of the controversial status of Pancasila is actually easy to be carried out thourgh ideology and history of thought perspectives. Since the beginning of its history, such concept of ideology has interpreted into two forms of explanations; as a neutral or as a critical concept.The controversy of Pancasila's status, in the other sense is describing another aspect because of such two notions recommended a something a new perspective in elaborating. Pancasila is necessarily needed. It is argued in this article as separation between Pancasila's meaning as comprehensive doctrine with its meaning as a political conception. Finally, in this article, the benefit in expand Pancasila as a political conception is shown more than Pancasila as a comprehensive doctrine.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the harmony in village financial management in realizing good governance which is seen from the principles of trans parency, accountability, and participatory. This research is a qualitative research using interpretive paradigm with informants namely the Village Head, Village Secretary, Section Head, Village Consultative Agency, and Community. The findings indicate that village financial management starting from the planning, implementation, administration, reporting, and accountability stages has proceeded in according to the principles of transparency, accountability and participatory compliance with the laws and regulations derived from it.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tentang keharmonisan dalam pengelolaan keuangan desa dalam mewujudkan good governance yang dilihat dari asas transparansi, akuntabilitas, dan partisipatif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan paradigma interpretif dengan informan yakni Kepala Desa, Sekretaris Desa, Kepala Seksi, Badan Permusyawaratan Desa, dan Masyarakat. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan keuangan desa mulai dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, penatausahaan, pelaporan, dan pertanggungjawaban telah berjalan sesuai dengan asas-asas transparansi, akuntabilitas, dan partisipatif yang sesuai dengan Undang-Undang dan peraturanturunannya.

Abstract

ABSTRAK            Kondisi Air sumur diperumahan Azzahra Kabupaten Banyuasin sangatlah tidak layak penggunaannya untuk konsumsi air bersih  rumah tangga, telah bertahun-tahun penggunaan air sumur diwilayah ini hanya sekedar untuk penggunaan penyiraman tanaman dan kebutuhan air diluar rumahtangga. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan variable seperti, suhu, ph namun kekhususan dalam penelitian ini meneliti seberapa besar pengaruh dari media filter seperti mnzeolit, karbon aktif terhadap hasil filtrasi dari bahan tersebut. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan data Kadar Fe sesudah dilakukan perlakuan yaitu rata-rata kadar Fe 0,183 mg/l dan keefektifan media filter sebesar 94,50%. Kata Kunci : filter, Mn Zeolit, Karbon aktif,  Fe
