Abstract

Two things must be considered to realize teacher professionalism: the teacher's thinking process and actions. These two things are very important and influence each other. The teacher's activity in providing scaffolding for students' questions is an action that certainly requires a thinking process. Among the research that has been carried out is teacher actions in providing scaffolding; however, there is no disclosure of teachers' thinking processes in helping students with difficulties in solving numeracy questions. Implementing questioning scaffolding in learning will help teachers create better learning and enrich the body of knowledge. This research reveals how the teacher's thinking process is predominantly contingent when scaffolding questions to students. This research uses scaffolding of teachers' thinking processes, which has never been researched before. This research uses a qualitative approach (grounded theory design), which is carried out in the context of mathematics learning. The research subjects were two teachers with dominant analytical contingent (GA) and intuitive contingent dominant (GI) characteristics. These two subjects were selected based on the results of very long observations of 12 teachers in Malang Raya, and only two met the research criteria. In general, it can be concluded that optimizing students' abilities to solve problems can be stimulated through the teacher's thinking process in providing scaffolding in the form of questions in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Nowadays, the development of education is influenced by the rapid advancement of information and communication technology. One of them is affecting the development of learning media. The learning process can now be carried out by utilising various learning media, one of which is interactive powerpoint. The use of learning media to support the learning process needs to be developed in the education system. Learning media can be made using various applications, one of which is Microsoft Powerpoint. This research is included in the type of development research or commonly called RnD (Research and Development) by taking the ADDIE development model. The ADDIE development model includes five stages, namely analysis (Analysis), design (Design), development (Development), implementation (Implementation) and evaluation (Evaluation). From the five stages in the ADDIE model above, researchers only carry out up to the implementation stage, due to the lack of time so it is not possible to carry out all the stages. The interactive powerpoint learning media for mathematics on the material of flat faceted shapes has been successfully developed. With the acquisition of the percentage value of three expert validations classified as high at 92% and the acquisition of practicality tests from students showing very practical results of 93.3%, then based on these gains the learning media can be categorised as feasible for use in learning. Furthermore, it can be suggested to teachers and students to be able to utilise it as an alternative media in learning mathematics material of many-sided flat shapes.

Abstract

The manuscript of Pengobatan Tradisional pada Masyarakat Pulau Penyengat (PTpMPP) contains various types of pain along with herbal ingredients, one of which is pain related to the eyes. The purpose of this study is to explain the study of ethnomedicine contained in the text of PTpMPP. The methods used are data collection, data processing, data analysis, and presentation of the results of data analysts. The data collection phase was carried out by field studies and literature studies. The data processing stage is carried out from the description of the manuscript, transliteration, and text editing. In studying its content, researchers used the theory of ethnomedicine. Studies that combine literature and ethnomedicine can provide a better understanding of how language, culture and narrative shape medical perceptions and practices in a given society. In addition, it can help improve interdisciplinary understanding of the human complexity of understanding and addressing health issues because literary works, particularly ancient texts, can reflect and shape the traditional medical knowledge and practices of different cultures. This makes it possible to understand health and medicine in a broader and more complex cultural context. Therefore, ethnomedicine is used to reveal the kinds and functions of medicinal plants used and the treatment methods contained in ancient manuscripts. The source of the data used is PTpMPP manuscript with Jawi script and Malay script, stored in Yayasan Inderasakti, Pulau Penyengat. The results of this study explain the eight causes of pain related to the eyes, namely injured eyes, eye pain (ordinary), blurred eyes, growing eyes, meat eye pain, restung eye pain, swollen eyes, and eyes for prohibition. The medical practice of treating the eight diseases belongs to the naturalistic medical system and each disease has its own herbal ingredients.
