Abstract

Memorizing the Qur'an is a highly valued activity in Islam, but this process is not always easy and can be affected by various factors, both internal and external. The STIFIn test, which is a tool for mapping individual potential based on basic brain functions, was used to identify students' learning styles that can support the memorization process. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, which involves collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation in the field. The data analysis used in the research is interactive analysis, namely through data collection, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results show that students with intuiting intelligence type rely more on semantic memory and imagination to understand the context and translation, they start the memorization process by reading and understanding the translation which serves as a memory booster, while feeling type students emphasize more on a conducive learning atmosphere and meticulous repetition where they prefer to memorize gradually with a focus on deep understanding of each lafaz and its meaning. These findings provide important insights into effective strategies in memorizing the Qur'an, as well as the importance of understanding each student's potential to improve learning effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how the use of Augmented Reality (AR) impacts students' self-assessment skills in mathematics learning. Students are given the ability to assess themselves, which is very important to help them become independent learners and critical thinkers. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was used. All 72 grade XI students in the sample were divided into experimental and control groups. Self-assessment tests and questionnaires were the tools used. The results of the analysis showed that, compared to the control class, students' self-assessment skills in the experimental class increased significantly. The results showed that AR was able to increase students' awareness in assessing their own understanding; the experimental group had a higher average self-assessment. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that AR has a positive effect on students' self-assessment skills. Therefore, it is recommended that AR be incorporated into mathematics learning to support students' metacognitive skills.

Abstract

The idea of ethnomathematics can enrich mathematical knowledge. If the development of ethnomathematics has been studied, it means that mathematics is taught by incorporating local culture. According to Bishop (1994b), mathematics is a form of culture that integrates into all aspects of society. Essentially, mathematics is a symbolic technology that grows from culturally rooted skills or environmental activities. Thus, an individual's mathematics is influenced by their cultural background, as what they do is based on what they see and feel. Culture affects individual behavior and plays a significant role in developing understanding, including mathematical learning (Bishop, 1991). Mathematics education is inherently intertwined with societal life, contrary to the conventional view that mathematics is a culture-free and value-free science. Ethnomathematics experts argue that the development of mathematics cannot be separated from the culture and values present in society.

Abstract

With advances in science and technology today, computers are now used in companies, agencies, and educational institutions. However, the problem experienced by the "Al Falah" Islamic Boarding School for Girls, Kepel Ampel Wuluhan, is the difficulty in reporting student learning outcomes, which still uses a manual model. Information technology must be able to transform the old management system (manual) into a computer-based system (modern) to make institutional management better, effective, efficient, and accountable.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education subjects at the elementary school level. The background of this research is the low level of student participation and understanding due to the use of conventional teaching methods. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR), consisting of two cycles, each consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade students at SDN Ditrotunan 1 Lumajang in the 2024–2025 academic year. Data collection instruments included observation sheets, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes from Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, the percentage of student mastery reached 72%, which then increased to 92% in Cycle II. These findings indicate that the application of the PBL model enhances student engagement, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of Islamic Religious Education material. Therefore, PBL is a feasible alternative for effective teaching strategies at the elementary level.

Abstract

This article critically examines the practice of "Budi Pekerti" (character education) in schools in Batam, Indonesia, by analyzing it as a form of civil religion and symbolic ritual. Drawing on personal experiential reflection and theoretical frameworks from Clifford Geertz, Émile Durkheim, Pierre Bourdieu, and Jean Baudrillard, the study reveals a fundamental paradox: instead of fostering genuine morality, the ritualized and compulsory nature of these activities often produces false obedience and performative conformity. The analysis identifies key failures, including the erosion of intrinsic meaning (ritual failure), the prioritization of administrative compliance over ethical internalization, and the reinforcement of social hierarchies and biases. Furthermore, for Generation Z, these practices are often perceived as empty liturgies, leading to disenchantment. The study concludes that the institutionalization of moral values through coercive, standardized rituals results in a "pseudo-morality," where symbols replace substance and performance trumps authentic ethical commitment. It argues for a reimagining of moral education that prioritizes critical reflection, personal autonomy, and authentic lived experience over rigid ceremonial formalism.
