Abstract

Batam is the city with the highest number of work accident cases in Riau Islands Province, which dominated by the industrial sector with an annual percentage of > 85%. Company X is the industry with the largest packaging box production in Batam . Based on the company's work accident report in 2016 there were 12 cases, in 2017 there were 9 cases, in 2018 there were 12 cases, in 2019 there were 20 cases and in 2020 there were 12 cases. The highest work accident cases are in the flexo finishing production section. This study aims to determine the factors that cause work accidents in the flexo finishing section in manufacturing company. The type of this research is analytic observational with quantitative approach and cross sectional study design. The research sample of 50 samples was taken using a total sampling technique. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Data analysis using chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between OHS training (p=0.022) and the use of PPE (p=0.003) with work accident. There is no relationship between age (p=0.087) and work period (p=0.383) with work accident. The suggestion of this research is that there is a need for a re-evaluation in the implementation of the OHS training program and the use of PPE, by providing OHS training equally to all workers and providing PPE in accordance with the potential hazards and risks of work accidents in the work section.

We used Research and Development (RD) level 1 design to develop childrens safety education game, which consisted of five stages, started from the data collection up to assess the product effectiveness. The result was a “snake and ladders of safety” game as safety education media for children. We presented 12 pictures in “snake and ladders of safety” game. This research was conducted on year 2017. Based on the game evaluation, the highest average pretest score was 37.9 and the average posttest score increased to 65.5, hence there was an increase of knowledge on safety by 73.1%. It can be concluded that this game can increase childrens knowledge on safety.

Abstract

The fulfillment of children's rights and special protection for the children as regulated in Law Number 23 Year 2014 as a revision of Law Number 32 Year 2004 regarding Regional Government, is a mandatory government-mandated non-basic affair. So the responsibility to meet the needs of children's rights and provide special protection for children is not only a burden to the central government, but also the responsibility of local governments. One way to find out the commitment of local governments in making efforts to fulfill the rights of the children and special protection for the children is to look from the planning and budgeting for the implementation of programs and activities that support the fulfillment of the children's rights and special protection for the children in the region. This research uses descriptive quantitative research design. Technique of collecting data is through secondary data at OPD in charge related to planning and budgeting that is Bappeda and DPPKA. From the results of this study shows that the picture of child responsive budgeting in the last three years at the Regional Government of Semarang City in 2014 reached 5.951%, in 2015 rose to 8.775% and in 2016 increased again to 9.521%. So it can be said that the commitment of Semarang City Government is quite good and consistent to fulfill the rights of the children even though the percentage is still relatively small. While the description of budget realization for the last three years reveals that is the highest achievement of the cluster IV and the lowest in cluster I. On the other side still found 4 Indicators that have not been backed-up adequate on the budget of 13 key OPD namely: 1 indicator on cluster 1 and 3 indicator on cluster 5. Suggestions include: enhancing the role of Bappeda as KLA task force coordinator in coordinating across sectors to increase commitment to the fulfillment of the children's rights to all OPD especially related to planning and budgeting aspects, revitalizing the role of KLA task force, advocating, socializing and technical guidance of implementation of PPRA in all OPD in Semarang City.

Abstract

Predisposing factors in this paper refer to factors that facilitate compliance behavior in the use of PPE in the workplace. This study aims to determine the relationship between predisposing factors of age, years of service, attitudes and knowledge with the compliance with the use of PPE at PT X. This study applied a cross-sectional approach. The sample size was 60 workshop workers. This study was conducted from November 2022 to February 2023. The instruments were questionnaire and observation sheet. The chi-square test results showed that age (p=0.517) and years of service (p=0.530) showed no relationship with the use of PPE. Furthermore, there was a relationship between compliance with the use of PPE among workers with knowledge (p=0.016) and attitude (p=0.006). The result of multivariate analysis test showed that knowledge (p=0.035) and attitude (p=0.013) significantly affected compliance with the use of PPE. In addition, it was found that there was a relationship between knowledge and attitudes with compliance with the use of PPE. Companies need to improve the leadership style of supervisors through influencing and motivating workers. Several practices involve providing a sense of comfort, supporting workers while working or using PPE, so that workers can positively influence other workers in carrying out the company's vision and mission and using PPE to reduce accident rates.

Abstract

Children are included in a vulnerable group that must be protected, both from the threat of natural disasters, non-natural disasters or social disasters. School is a place for children to spend a lot of time. Disaster events can occur anywhere and at any time, including at school and during school hours, so schools must have an adequate emergency response system to ensure the safety of all its citizens. The purpose of this study is to identify problems that exist in schools related to the implementation of the disaster response system and formulate indicators for the initiation of initial activities for implementing the emergency response system in elementary school. The research design uses a qualitative descriptive research. The results of identifying problems in Elementary School Y show that school has not implemented an emergency response and disaster mitigation system, but teachers' knowledge regarding multi-hazard mitigation is also still low. The conclusions obtained are that schools can apply initial activity initiation indicators for the implementation of an emergency response system including: preparation of an emergency response team complete with duties and roles, preparation of SOPs for emergency response at school, training and simulation of disaster mitigation, preparation of evacuation maps, installation of evacuation directions, determination gathering points, emergency response signs, installation of emergency response facilities at least Light Fire Extinguishers/APAR and instructions for their use, as well as developing a network of cooperation with related parties.

Abstract

The Covid-19 outbreak is an infectious disease caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV by-2). Corona virus has many variants, omicron is the variant that has the highest transmission rate. Students are part of the community who need to participate in preventing Covid-19 in the form of behavior to prevent transmission of Covid-19. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence students' behavior to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional study approach . The sample is set at 175 respondents with probability sampling technique . The instrument used is a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test and Multiple Logistic Regression. The results showed that the variables female gender (P 0.05; CI = 3.276), good knowledge (P 0.05; CI = 7.369), and mother's education level Masters (P 0.05; CI = 1.446) had the greatest influence of other variables. Suggestions need to increase student awareness to implement the Covid-19 health protocol as well as preventive support from parents, especially mothers in the context of preventing the transmission of Covid-19
