Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of icons, indexes, and symbols based on Peirce's semiotics in the film "Andragogy” by Wregas Bhanuteja. The formulation of the research problem is how the forms of icons, indexes, and symbols of Peirce's semiotics are in the film "Andragogy". The approach to this research is a descriptive qualitative type. Data in the form of iconic signs, indexes, and symbols in scenes from the film "Andragogy" by Wregas Bhanuteja. The data source for this research comes from a film that premiered on the Netflix application on March 21, 2024, entitled "Andragogy". The data collection technique for this research is observing, recording, and documenting. The data analysis technique is carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are index data that dominates the signs in the film. Then, the icon and index data are the minimum data found in the film “Andragogy”.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pemanfaatan Reading Corner terhadap kemampuan literasi membaca siswa kelas tinggi di UPT SD Negeri 3 Watang Sidenreng. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa di sekolah tersebut yang berjumlah 131 orang, dengan sampel sebanyak 49 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi dokumentasi, observasi, angket, dan tes. Analisis data dilakukan melalui analisis deskriptif, uji homogenitas, dan independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan Reading Corner berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh nilai signifikansi uji t-test sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan rata-rata kemampuan membaca antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Nilai rata-rata (mean) post-test kelompok eksperimen sebesar 86,00 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol yang sebesar 72,08. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima, yaitu terdapat pengaruh pemanfaatan Reading Corner terhadap minat dan kemampuan membaca siswa, sementara hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak.

Abstract

This research explores the role of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang in developing digital literacy among lecturers and students, an increasingly critical competence in modern education. The study aims to identify the extent to which university-provided facilities, training, and policies enhance lecturers' digital competencies and to evaluate the impact of these policies on students’ learning experiences, including existing challenges and disparities. Employing a qualitative approach based on Creswell’s (2014) framework, data were gathered through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation using purposive sampling involving university leaders, lecturers, and digital learning coordinators. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns related to digital literacy development. Findings reveal that the university has made significant progress, with most lecturers rating the facilities and training as excellent or good, and reporting improvements in teaching quality. However, gaps remain in policy communication and equitable access to digital tools. Student responses also showed positive perceptions, though uneven access, limited participation, and suboptimal program outcomes indicate the need for improvement. The study implies that to fully realize the benefits of digital literacy, the university must enhance infrastructure, refine training programs, and strengthen policy outreach to ensure inclusive and effective

Abstract

This community service research aims to improve the competence of SMA Negeri 1 Sidrap teachers in designing and implementing learning based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) through the integration of Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). This activity was motivated by teachers' low understanding of the HOTS learning strategy, the limitations of the use of CAI, and the lack of application of IoT in supporting contextual learning according to the demands of the Independent Curriculum. The method used is a participatory-collaborative approach with several stages, namely socialization, intensive training, application of technology in the classroom, mentoring and evaluation, and preparation of good practice guidelines as a form of program sustainability. Data was collected through observations, interviews, pre-training and post-training questionnaires, and activity documentation. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in teachers' competence in designing HOTS teaching devices, utilizing interactive CAI modules, and integrating simple IoT in project-based learning. In addition, this activity strengthens the capacity of educational institutions through the development of adaptive technology-based learning models, increasing student involvement, and placing SMA Negeri 1 Sidrap as a model school in the implementation of CAI and IoT-based HOTS learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using PowToon learning media on improving elementary school students' learning motivation and listening skills compared to conventional learning methods. The study used a quasi-experimental design with two classes: a control class and an experimental class. The population and sample in this study were all 81 upper grade students divided into a control class of 29 students and an experimental class of 52 students. Data collection techniques in this study included tests, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique used the IBM Statistics application with the N-Gain Score formula. The analysis results showed that the experimental class using PowToon experienced a significant improvement in listening learning outcomes with an average N-Gain score of 0.79 (79.80%), which is considered high. In contrast, the control class only achieved an average N-Gain of 0.18 (18.67%), which is in the low category. Student learning motivation in the experimental class also showed significantly better results, with 96% of students in the excellent category, compared to the control class, where the majority (87%) were in the poor category. Furthermore, students' listening skills in the experimental class improved significantly, as evidenced by observations and questionnaires that recorded increased activity, focus, and understanding of the material. The data also showed that PowToon media was able to create a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment, encouraging students to be more active in asking questions, discussing, and expressing their opinions. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the use of PowToon learning media is effective in significantly increasing students' learning motivation and listening skills compared to conventional learning methods. Therefore, PowToon is recommended as an alternative innovative learning medium in elementary schools to create more meaningful and enjoyable learning.

Abstract

Novel ‘Bumi Manusia’ penuh dengan kritik sosial tentang nilai tradisional dan modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pematuhan maksim kebijaksanaan pada tuturan setiap tokoh. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa tuturan tokoh dalam novel. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik baca, teknik identifikasi, teknik klasifikasi dan teknik deskripsi. Data dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua tokoh telah mematuhi maksim kebijaksanaan berdasarkan prinsip kesantunan berbahasa Leech. Hal ini menjadi alternatif untuk menjadikan novel ini sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran kesantunan berbahasa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh teori pengkajian puisi dan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan menulis puisi pada siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren DDI As-Salman Allakuang. Populasi penelitian ini keseluruhan siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren DDI As-Salman Allakuang yang berjumlah 148 orang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini ditarik sebesar 30% atau sebanyak 49 orang. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dokumentasi, observasi, wawancara, dan teknik tes. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu analisis kuantitatif meliputi analisis deskriptif, uji homogenitas, dan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penguasaan teori pengkajian puisi dan motivasi belajar berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis puisi pada siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren DDI As-Salman Allakuang. Hal ini dibuktikan berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang menunjukkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0.05. Hasil lain menunjukkan perbedaan nilai mean postest kelompok eksperimen nilai mean kelompok kontrol yaitu 84,84 > 74,91. Hal ini berarti ada perbedaan nilai mean hasil tes menulis puisi antara siswa yang menguasai teori pengkajian sastra dibandingkan hasil tes menulis puisi siswa yang tidak menguasai teori pengkajian sastra. Motivasi belajar berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis puisi pada siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren DDI As-Salman Allakuang. Hal ini dibuktikan berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang menunjukkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0.05. Hasil lain menunjukkan perbedaan nilai mean postest kelompok eksperimen nilai mean kelompok kontrol yaitu 86,73 > 75,73. Hal ini berarti ada perbedaan nilai mean hasil tes menulis puisi antara siswa yang motivasi belajarnya tinggi dibandingkan hasil tes menulis puisi siswa yang motivasi belajarnya rendah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penggunaan LMS (Learning Management System) bagi guru dengan menggunakan aplikasi Sistem Informasi Pembelajaran Kreatif Inovatif untuk Generasi Emas (SIPAKAINGE). Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah memberikan pendampingan LMS kepada guru di SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang dengan rincian kegiatan mulai dari survei, sosialisasi, dan pendampingan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah dengan menggunakan SPSS-26. Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa guru di SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang membutuhkan LMS untuk meningkatkan kegiatan pembelajaran. Selain itu, untuk kelancaran LMS ini, para guru membutuhkan pendampingan dan pelatihan. Dengan pendampingan ini, para guru termotivasi dan lebih percaya diri untuk menggunakan LMS.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of Script-Based Improvisation on students’ speaking achievement at SMA Muhammadiyah Pangsid. The research compared the speaking performance of students taught using Script-Based Improvisation and those taught using the conventional memorization technique. A quantitative approach was employed, with two groups of eleventh-grade students selected through Cluster Random Sampling. The experimental group was taught using Script-Based Improvisation, while the control group utilized the memorizing dialogue technique. After six sessions of treatment, both groups were administered a post-test to assess their speaking abilities. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, with the results showing that the experimental group outperformed the control group. The mean score for the experimental group was higher, and t-test analysis revealed a significant difference between the two groups. This indicates that Script-Based Improvisation significantly improved students' speaking achievement compared to the conventional memorization method.
