Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi dan informasi tidak hanya berdampak positif berupa perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, tetapi berdampak negatif bagi masyarakat kelas menengah dan pinggiran yang tidak siap menghadapi efek negatif arus informasi tersebut. Kecamatan Caringin, Kabupaten Sukabumi salah satu wilayah yang terkena dampak negatif informasi digital berupa perubahan sikap sosial masyarakat. Hal ini terlihat pada sikap  abai orang tua dalam mendidik anak di rumah dan menyerahkan pendidikan pada sekolah. Sementara itu, SDM pendidik TK/RA belum semua memenuhi standar pendidik level sarjana. Pelatihan mendongeng di komunitas mendongeng “Lebah Madu” merupakan solusi alternatif dalam upaya penyadaran urgensi mendongeng untuk orang tua wali dan guru di Kecamatan Caringin, Sukabumi. Melalui komunitas tersebut diharapkan dapat terjalin sinergi antara orang tua wali dan guru untuk berkontribusi menyelesaikan problematika pendidikan anak melalui penggalakkan kegiatan mendongeng di rumah dan sekolah.  Respons positif peserta terhadap kegiatan dan tindak lanjut kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan memiliki daya manfaat dan motivasi terhadap orang tua dan guru.

Abstract

One of the creative and productive ways to deal with boredom and avoid stress during self-quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic is creative writing. The Indonesian Literature Study Program, Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University held a short story writing training activity with the insight of the COVID-19 pandemic for Indonesian language subject teachers. The benefits of this activity, among others, are expected to be a trauma healing for residents who are currently experiencing self-quarantine, a recreational and productive activity, as a medium for disseminating knowledge of pandemic disaster mitigation to the wider community. This activity was carried out online using the zoom meeting application and was attended by 44 teachers from various regions in Indonesia. Described in a qualitative descriptive manner, the training designed with an intensive mentoring model was considered capable of improving the participants' short story writing skills. The success in the implementation of this activity is not only influenced by technology and social support, but the enthusiasm of the participants to take part in the training activities as well as the human resources of resource persons who are competent in their fields.

Abstract

In Australia, Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) educators have diverse educational backgrounds, including not only bachelor's or master's degrees in teaching Indonesian but also various disciplines such as linguistics and sociology. Interestingly, a number of these educators are native Australians who have mastered Indonesian. This study aims to improve the capacity of BIPA educators by equipping them with local Indonesian wisdom so that they can teach the Indonesian language and culture more effectively. This study uses a qualitative approach with direct training methods and field mentoring, which was carried out at the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra for two days. On the first day, 20 educators were introduced to the concept of local Indonesian wisdom, and on the second day, they practiced teaching using local wisdom-based materials. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with participants. The analysis results showed that after the training, 85% of participants felt more confident in integrating local cultural elements into their teaching, as measured by a post-training survey. In conclusion, this training has successfully empowered BIPA educators by providing additional skills that enable them to teach Bahasa Indonesia more engagingly and contextually. This emphasizes incorporating local cultural elements into language learning to enhance student appeal and understanding. Thus, improving the competence of BIPA educators through this local wisdom training has contributed significantly to Bahasa Indonesia education in Australia.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to online learning and stay-at-home measures in Indonesia, enabling internet-based study from home (SFH). The Indonesian government regulates a Study from Home (SFH) policy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This policy certainly affects the learning process, one of which is the readiness of the learning process in elementary schools. This research aims at revealing and evaluating the implementation of the Kampus Mengajar Perintis (Pioneer Campus Teaching, hereinafter KMP) program as one of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka programs. This program is conducted by undergraduate students who are spread out across all universities in Indonesia. They are given the chance to teach at elementary schools and are expected to help improve the learning process within three months. This research is conducted using a descriptive Qualitative research method. Students’ responses to the KMP program are collected and used as data. The study involved 17 respondents across schools in West Java. The data is collected through questionnaires, weekly report documents, and students’ final reports through the KMP system. The research shows that the implementation of the KMP program is in accordance with the objectives of the program’s implementation. Students are able to directly participate in helping the learning implementation in Elementary Schools during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they also have applied service-learning in the process. Conclusively, this program serves as a solution for the implementation of blended learning activities in elementary schools and also aids teachers in enhancing the crucial digital literacy required for learning during the pandemic.

Abstract

Dalam program immersion, diperlukan materi pengenalan budaya untuk meminimalisasi gegar budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) sesi orientasi budaya Indonesia yang diperoleh dan (2) materi budaya Indonesia yang dibutuhkan pemelajar BIPA sebelum immersion. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) sesi orientasi budaya Indonesia yang diperoleh pemelajar BIPA dapat membantu mengantisipasi gegar budaya dan (2) materi budaya Indonesia yang dibutuhkan pemelajar BIPA adalah materi tentang cara berpakaian, berkomunikasi, makan, menggunakan transportasi, informasi makanan, serta hubungan antara lawan jenis. Hasil penelitian ini dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan validasi bahwa materi budaya dibutuhkan pemelajar BIPA untuk mengantisipasi gegar budaya.

Abstract

Karya sastra merupakan salah satu media yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan pesan tentang fenomena kehidupan manusia, salah satunya mengenai fenomena hegemoni dalam keluarga. Tak dapat disangkal bahwa hegemoni juga dapat terjadi di lingkungan keluarga yang merupakan organisasi terkecil dalam masyarakat. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) praktik hegemoni dalam keluarga, dan (2) dampak dari hegemoni melalui representasi kehidupan anak dalam sebuah karya sastra. Untuk mendeskripsikan hal tersebut digunakan ilmu turunan dari sosiologi sastra yakni teori hegemoni Gramsci dengan metode penelitian secara kualitatif. Sumber datauntuk penelitian ini adalah Novel Iyan Bukan Anak Tengah karya Armaraher. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya beberapa bentuk praktik hegemoni yang dominan dilakukan oleh orang tua kepada anak dan praktik hegemoni tersebut memberikan banyak dampak negatif bagi kehidupan anak. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mengedukasi orang tua serta masyarakat mengenai praktik hegemoni dalam keluarga dan memberikan ruang bagi penelitian-penelitian serupa untuk menyempurnakan penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya.

Abstract

Language plays a crucial role in the educational environment, whether in schools or universities. Besides the national language, students are also exposed to regional and foreign languages to enhance their language proficiency. Teaching foreign languages encompasses a wide range of options, such as English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. Moreover, languages affiliated with ASEAN countries, like Malay, Thai, and Indonesian, have gained popularity. This study employs a descriptive approach to elucidate the findings regarding the interest in learning Indonesian among students in ASEAN nations. Conducted by SEAMEO ASEAN, the research draws its primary data from questionnaires and presentations submitted in September 2022. Participating ASEAN countries in this SEAMEO initiative encompass Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam and analyzed with descriptive statistical analysis. The study reveals a notable demand for Indonesian language learning among students from ASEAN countries. Indonesian is pursued for various purposes, including professional, socio-cultural, and personal development. Recognizing the interest in Indonesian among ASEAN students provides a foundation for the implementation of Indonesian as a foreign language through the BIPA program. There has not been much research on the interest of Indonesian language among students at the ASEAN level, therefore this research is included in the initial research on Indonesian language internationalization policies starting from the ASEAN level

Abstract

21st-century education requires learning to be carried out by utilizing technology. To fulfill the demands of the 21st century, teachers should be directed and encouraged to integrate the use of technology-based media into the process of teaching and learning. The present study aims to investigate the needs that inform the development of an application as a learning medium for writing poetry at the high school level. To achieve the objective, the study utilized a qualitative approach involving the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data interpretation. The data were collected through a questionnaire and interview and analyzed using basic descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis. The results showed that 1) students and teachers expect that the teaching and learning of poetry will utilize technology-based media such as Android-based cell phones. 2) In the Mobile Cipta Poetry application media, the students confirm the helpful features offered by the application, such as diction selection, relaxation music, sharing works, poetry manuscript banks, and peer evaluations. These findings indicate that the design of the Mobile Cipta Poetry (MCP) application has met the students’ and teachers’ needs. The study concludes that the difficulty and lack of motivation that the students face during the poetry writing activity may occur due to the lack of technology-based media. Therefore, it is necessary to develop IT-based media that can support the poetry writing process in the classroom.

Abstract

This research examines the power of listening, asking, and solving problems in training in using Indonesian language teaching materials for Indonesian language teachers for foreign speaker military officers. The problem identified is that Indonesian language teachers for foreign-speaker military officers must update their teaching materials according to student characteristics. Teaching materials need to be updated because there have been many changes in vocabulary, including the addition of several words in everyday life, including slang. The training participants are Indonesian language teachers who teach foreign-speaker military officers at Kementerian Pertahanan Republik Indonesia. The number of training participants was twenty people. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative research was carried out by interpreting the results of questions from training participants and quantitative quasi-experimental analysis to measure the influence of teaching materials training on understanding the use of Indonesian language teaching materials for foreign-speaker military officers. The research results showed that listening, asking, and solving problems succeeded in helping Indonesian language teachers who taught foreign-speaker military officers understand conceptually how to convey Indonesian language teaching materials to students. AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji tentang kekuatan mendengarkan, bertanya dan memecahkan masalah dalam pelatihan penggunaan bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia bagi guru bahasa Indonesia bagi perwira militer penutur asing. Permasalahan yang teridentifikasi adalah guru bahasa Indonesia bagi perwira militer penutur asing harus memperbarui bahan ajarnya sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa. Bahan ajar perlu diperbarui karena banyak terjadi perubahan kosa kata, termasuk penambahan beberapa kata dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, termasuk bahasa gaul. Peserta pelatihan adalah guru bahasa Indonesia yang mengajar perwira militer penutur asing di Kementerian Pertahanan Republik Indonesia. Jumlah peserta pelatihan sebanyak dua puluh orang. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian kualitatif dilakukan dengan interpretasi hasil pertanyaan peserta pelatihan dan analisis kuasi eksperimen kuantitatif untuk mengukur pengaruh pelatihan bahan ajar terhadap pemahaman penggunaan bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia bagi perwira militer penutur asing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mendengarkan, bertanya, dan memecahkan masalah berhasil membantu guru bahasa Indonesia yang mengajar perwira militer penutur asing memahami secara konseptual cara menyampaikan bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia kepada siswa.Kata Kunci: bahan ajar; pelatihan bahasa; pembelajaran berbasis masalah

Abstract

Masalah yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini mengenai pembinaan kemampuan menulis teks naratif singkat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami dan memaknai secara mendalam terkait model sinektik yang berorientasi pada pembelajaran menulis teks cerita pendek inspiratif melalui pengalaman. Metode yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan dan memproses data penelitian yaitu kajian pustaka dari buku cetak, buku elektronik, dan jurnal. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman terkait: rasional; tujuan; prinsip; tahapan; dan dampak dari model sinektik berorientasi pengalaman dalam pembelajaran menulis teks cerita pendek inspiratif. Simpulan dari penelitian ini, yaitu: model sinektik berorientasi pengalaman dalam pembelajaran menulis teks cerita pendek inspiratif bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai instrumen yang efektif pada lingkup pembelajaran bermakna melalui proses edukasi secara terstruktur, sehingga peserta didik mampu menghasilkan cerita pendek inspiratif melalui pengalaman yang dapat membangkitkan motivasi pribadi dan khalayak penikmat, serta berpotensi menjadi mahakarya terintegrasi jika dilibatkan dalam ajang cipta cerita pendek Nasional dengan karya terpublikasi.
