Abstract

This is an experimental study on the effects of the oral and written informative communication on sex and sexuality. The experiment was conducted at SMA in Bandung, the first class students being the experiment subjects. From the population (340 students), 78 students were picked up at random. The subjects were divided at random into three groups: the "oral" group (the listening group), the "written" group (the reading group), and the control group. Tests were given to the first group and the second group before and after the treatment, while test I and test II were given to the control group. The experiment aimed to test the following hypothesis: (1) There is a significant difference between the oral group and written group in their average knowledge on sex and sexuality; (2) There is a Significant difference between the male group and the female group exposed to both oral informative communication and written informative communication in their average knowledge on sex and sexuality; (3) There is a significant difference between the malegroup and the female group exposed to the oral informative communication, and between the male group and the female group exposed to the written informative communication in their average knowledge on sex and sexuality; (4) There is a significant difference between the male group exposed to the oral informative communication and the male group exposed to the written informative communication, and between the female group exposed to the oral informative communication and the female group exposed to the written informative communication in their average knowledge on sex and sexuality. Having been analyzed by the t and t tests, it was found that the second hypothesis was not accepted, while the others were accepted. It was also found that: (1) The oral informative communication was more effective than the written informative communication. (2) The oral informative communication was more effective on the male group, and the written informative communication was more effective on the female group.

Abstract

The focus of this research was to study the personal skills and leadership functions of the public relations manager which is assumed will bear its influence on the quality of public relations management in order to enhance the effectiveness of the communication system of his organization. The approach used in this research was systems approach in the social-science context which is interlaced with interdicipliner approach from the psychology, communication, sociology,and management perspective. As for the method used was ""the Explanatory Survey Method"".  The research object was conducted in 19 BUMN in DKI Jakarta and West Java. Tocollect the data, the researcher used questionnaires, in depth interview, observation, and library study. The questionnaires were distributed to 85 respondents among Public Relations Officers (PRO) and 96 respondents among corporate managers. To fullflll the research data, the researcher took in depth interview to 19 public relations manager from selected BUMN. The conclusion from the result of hypothesis using Path AnalySis-Statistical Test and ProductMoment Correlation Coefficient r ofident that either the main hypothesis or subhypotheses proposed were accepted. The leadership (Viewed from the aspect of personal skills and leadership function) of Public Relations Manager among BUMN significantly influenced the quality of Public Relations Management and the quality of PR Manajement had significantly correlation with the effectiveness of a corporate communication system.

Abstract

Streetmerchant, famously known in Indonesia as Pedagang Kaki Lima (PKL) raise some problems for the city every year. The city government has tried to locate them in some areas, the amount of PKL has never decreased. From the year of 1997 to 2000, the amount of PKL has increased 56.3%/year. It means, from around 3.000 PKL in 1997, the amount of PKL has hit a number of 16.880 due to the worsening of economic conditions. This research aimed to study problems concerning PKL and interactions among PKL, city government, and community itself. It is found that opinions of community members toward PKL are varying: some feels uncomfortable, another think that it’s not their problems, on the other hand, people admit that they need PKL to supply materials for them.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) nowadays becomes indicator of corporate achievement. CSR activities, which commonly defined as corporate efforts to increase community and stakeholder life quality, open up relations between corporate and community. In turn, CSR would maintain good image and give posing the positive publicity toward corporate image. This article explores CSR activities as implied on PR marketing in some corporates.

Abstract

Penelitian yang difokuskan pada pertanyaan: “Bagaimana Strategi Antisipasi dan Solusi Penyebaran Hoax Di Kalangan Dosen Universitas Islam Bandung”. Untuk mengkaji permasalahan tersebut, tim peneliti menetapkan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Informan yang dijadikan narasumber adalah para dosen Universitas Islam Bandung dan mereka yang aktif menggunakan dan memanfaatkan media sosial khususnya WhatsApp (WA) baik di group dosen fakultasnya masing-masing, group universitas, pertemanan, organisasi, dan lain-lain yang terdiri dari 6 orang dosen di lingkungan Universitas Islam Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman dosen Unisba yang dijadikan narasumber tentang Hoax di media sosial WhatsApp (WA) secara prinsip memiliki kesamaan makna yakni cenderung memandang hoax adalah dalam kacamata yang sangat negatif. Hoax dapat berbentuk gambar, berita, verbal, dan hoax link.

Abstract

Unisba dan Unissula merupakan perguruan tinggi islam swasta yang telah menguasai local brand/regional brand, dimana sama-sama mengusai pasar lokal untuk bidang lembaga pendidikan tinggi islam.   Di era MEA ini Unisba dan Unissula harus kerja keras dalam upaya bersaing dengan perguruan tinggi yang ada di ASEAN.  Marketing PR merupakan sinergi antara kegiatan marketing dengan strategi public relations, dengan Marketing PR diharapkan perguruan tinggi dapat menciptakan dan memperkuat brand sebagai perguruan tinggi Islam yang mempunyai citra dan reputasi yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji, menganalisis perencanaan Marketing PR dan peluang serta tantangan Marketing PR di era MEA, dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif pendekatan studi kasus.  Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis penelitian ini adalah Teori Manajemen Relasi (Ledingham) dan Analisis SWOT.  Hasil Penelitiannya: 1) Dalam menyusun perencanaan Marketing PR, Humas harus melakukan manajemen relasi dengan siswa, guru/sekolah, orangtua, wartawan dan stakeholders melalui komunikasi yang berkesinambungan, 2)  Peluang dan tantangan startegi Marketing PR dalam analisis SWOT dapat dilihat dari aspek: a. Strategi Strengths-Oppurtunities, yaitu mempertahankan dan memperkuat nilai Islam dalam kegiatan Marketing PR, b. Strategi Weaknesses-Oppurtunities, yaitu mengedukasi publik internal tentang konsep Public Relations dan Marketing PR, c. Strategi Strengths-Treats, artinya di era MEA ini PTIS harus meningkatkan kerjasama dengan stakeholders di dalam maupun luar negeri, dan d. Strategi Weaknesses-Treats adalah meningkatkan kualitas akademik dosen dan mahasiswa, serta mutu pelayanan prima bagi publik internal dan eksternal.Kata Kunci: Analisis SWOT, Marketing PR, Strategi.
