Abstract

Fokus kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu pendidikan kesehatan glikemik untuk keluarga pengrajin gula kelapa Sari Manggar di Desa Sunyalangu, Kabupaten Banyumas. Dengan pendekatan partisipatif, program ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang kesehatan glikemik dan mengurangi risiko diabetes mellitus. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan pendidikan kesehatan masyarakat dengan menekankan gaya hidup sehat glikemik di kalangan keluarga pengrajin gula kelapa. Kegiatan ini menekankan pentingnya meningkatkan kesadaran akan kesehatan glikemik khusus pada keluarga pengrajin gula kelapa Sari Manggar Desa Desa Sunyalangu Kabupaten Banyumas, sebagai langkah krusial dalam mencegah dan mengelola diabetes mellitus di masyarakat. Selain itu, kegiatan ini memberikan wawasan berharga untuk program pendidikan kesehatan berbasis masyarakat lebih lanjut, khususnya yang menargetkan kesejahteraan glikemik dalam pengaturan sosio-kultural serupa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis evaluasi menggunakan model CIPP (Context,  Input,  Process, and Product) pencapaian pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan persentase  82,65%  termasuk  dalam  kategori sangat  baik dengan peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 84,0%,  peningkatan sikap sebesar 82,0%, dan peningkatan psikomotor sebesar 81,0%.

Abstract

This study explores the design and implementation of an educational quiz aimed at promoting religious moderation among primary school students. The quiz, consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions across five thematic areas—tolerance and respect for differences, peaceful coexistence, anti-violence, love for the nation and diversity, and friendship and togetherness—was implemented with students in grades 3 to 6 at MI Ma’arif NU 1 Kracak, Cilacap. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-test assessments to evaluate changes in students' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Classroom observations and student reflections were also used to gain deeper insights into the impact of the quiz. The results indicate a significant increase in students’ knowledge of religious moderation after participating in the quiz, as well as positive changes in attitudes and behaviors related to tolerance, empathy, and respect for diversity. The interactive features of the quiz, including immediate feedback and friendly competition, were found to enhance student engagement and motivation. Teachers reported that the quiz encouraged open discussions about sensitive topics, such as interfaith relations and cultural diversity, fostering a more inclusive classroom environment. The findings suggest that game-based learning, particularly through interactive quizzes, can be a powerful tool for instilling values of tolerance and social harmony in primary education. This study highlights the potential of integrating quiz-based interventions into school curricula to promote religious moderation and prepare students for life in multicultural societies. Future research is recommended to explore the long-term impact of such interventions and examine their scalability across different educational contexts.

Abstract

Drying is one of the critical points in the process of making crystal coconut sugar. The production of crystalline coconut sugar in Banyumas Regency is very potential to be developed, but the drying of crystalline coconut sugar that has been carried out in Banyumas Regency still uses natural drying. The dryer used in this study is a rotating rack type dryer. This study aims to 1) examine changes in the water content of crystal coconut sugar in a rotating rack type dryer, 2) examine changes in the drying rate of crystal coconut sugar in a rotating rack type dryer, and 3) examine the physical and chemical properties of crystal coconut sugar dried using a rotary dryer. rotating rack. The research was conducted at the Integrated Science Laboratory, Nahdlatul Ulama University, Purwokerto. The research was carried out from February to July 2022. The experimental design that was carried out was a Completely Randomized Factorial Design with the influence of temperature and drying time. The research was conducted to find out the best drying time and temperature as well as to observe the moisture content, sucrose content, pH, and organoleptic tests which included color, taste, and texture. The results showed that changes in drying rate had a very significant effect on water content, sucrose content, pH, and organoleptic tests on color and texture, but drying rates had no significant effect on organoleptic tests on taste. The best temperature and time in the drying process using a rotating rack type dryer is the G3K2 treatment, drying using a temperature of 80 oC for 2 hours.

Abstract

The heavy dependence on fossil fuel sources has led to massive exploitation of fossil fuel sources, so it is feared that fossil fuels will run out quickly because they cannot be renewed. It is necessary to find alternative non-fossil fuels so as not to depend on these fuels. Utilization of agricultural waste or industrial waste is an alternative to fossil fuels by turning them into charcoal briquettes. Bamboo waste is included in the category of agricultural waste which is often found in the products of the bamboo industry. This bamboo waste has not been utilized and has the potential to be used to make charcoal briquettes. This study aims to determine the characteristics of waste bamboo charcoal briquettes, determine the effect of the type of adhesive and the percentage of adhesive in the manufacture of waste bamboo charcoal briquettes and determine the right combination of adhesive types and the percentage of adhesive suitable for waste bamboo charcoal briquettes. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a combination of 6 experimental variations. Replications were carried out 4 times to obtain 24 experimental units. The treatment factors used in this study were the type of adhesive (J) and the percentage of adhesive (P). The adhesive type factor (J) consisted of the type of cassava flour adhesive (J0) and rice aking flour (J1) while the adhesive percentage factor consisted of 5% adhesive percentage (P0), 7% adhesive percentage (P1) and 9% adhesive percentage (P2). ). The variables observed in this study included moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, calorific value, density and compressive strength. The data obtained was analyzed using the F test and if it had a significant effect then it was continued with the 5% DMRT test to find out the difference in these factors. The results showed the characteristics of bamboo charcoal briquettes using cassava flour and aking rice flour adhesive, namely water content (5.07-5.16%), ash content (2.74-2.86%), volatile matter (1.17- 1.25%), fixed carbon (90.74-91.02%), calorific value (6078.40-7348.23 cal/g), density (0.45-0.53 g/cm3) and compressive strength (2.32-6.74 kg/cm2). The type of adhesive and the percentage of adhesive have a significant effect on ash content, volatile matter and fixed carbon and compressive strength. The best bamboo waste charcoal briquettes are using cassava flour adhesive with an adhesive percentage of 5%.

Abstract

Keamanan pangan dan gizi yang berkeberlanjutan merupakan isu utama dalam agenda pembangunan global maupun nasional. Kajian ini menyajikan tinjauan kritis mengenai keamanan pangan dengan mengintegrasikan tiga perspektif kajian, yaitu: (1) transformasi sistem pangan berkelanjutan, (2) peran jaring pengaman sosial dalam memperkuat pemenuhan pangan, dan (3) integrasi indikator gizi dan keberlanjutan. Fokus khusus dilakukan pada kondisi Indonesia melalui Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) yang bertujuan meningkatkan status gizi, menurunkan stunting, dan memperkuat ketahanan sistem pangan. Analisis pustaka menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian keamanan pangan berkelanjutan tidak hanya membutuhkan reformasi sistem pangan dan penyesuaian terhadap perubahan iklim, tetapi juga jaring pengaman sosial yang menjamin distribusi merata terhadap pangan bergizi. Selain itu, integrasi indikator gizi dan keberlanjutan dalam evaluasi program masih menjadi kesenjangan penelitian yang perlu segera ditangani. Rekomendasi yang dihasilkan menekankan pentingnya tata kelola lintas sektoral, pemantauan berbasis data, serta penyesuaian praktik terbaik global ke dalam kondisi lokal Indonesia.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan diversifikasi produksi hortikultura dan memperkuat pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga melalui penerapan green technology berbasis energi terbarukan di Desa Kedungweru, Kecamatan Ayah, Kabupaten Kebumen. Permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat mencakup sistem budidaya yang masih tradisional, akses air irigasi yang tidak efisien, minimnya teknologi pascapanen, serta belum optimalnya sistem pengelolaan sampah organik rumah tangga. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan meliputi: (1) instalasi teknologi irigasi tetes tenaga surya, dan pompa air tenaga surya,; (2) pelatihan budidaya hortikultura dan tanaman pakan adaptif; (3) pengelolaan sampah organik berbasis teknologi VIU-BSF CleanCycle untuk produksi kompos; serta (4) pelatihan manajemen usaha dan pemasaran digital melalui JV Desamart. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi air irigasi, diversifikasi produk hortikultura, peningkatan kompetensi manajemen kelompok tani dan PKK, serta penurunan timbulan sampah organik rumah tangga. Program ini berkontribusi terhadap ketahanan pangan, peningkatan pendapatan, dan kesehatan lingkungan masyarakat desa. Model teknologi dan pemberdayaan ini relevan untuk direplikasi di desa lain dengan karakteristik serupa guna mendukung pembangunan ekonomi hijau berkelanjutan.
