Abstract

Fruit waste is considered a waste material that cannot be used anymore, so that its existence has not been properly utilized by the community. Even though fruit waste can still be reused as material for making liquid organic fertilizer (POC). Liquid organic fertilizer made from fruit waste is a type of fertilizer that has many benefits, both for plants and the environment. Liquid organic fertilizer is environmentally friendly and safe for humans and animals. Liquid organic fertilizer also improves soil structure, increases soil fertility, and increases soil water holding capacity, besides being environmentally friendly, reduces soil pollution, and protects soil health. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge and skills to the community about reusing fruit waste by processing it into liquid organic fertilizer (POC). The location of the community service was carried out at the Tangga Takat village head office, Seberang Ulu II District, Palembang City, on February 24 2022. The method used was counseling and training for the community about processing fruit waste into liquid organic fertilizer. This activity brought together 25 enthusiastic participants in a discussion and question and answer session during the training. The results of this community service show that the method of community service in the form of consultation, training and question and answer is very suitable for motivating the community in processing fruit waste into liquid organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Marlina et al. 2012. The Response of Rice (Oryza sativa L.) to Organic Fertilizer Plus and Organic Pesticides under the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in Tidal Lowlands. JLSO 1(2):138-148. This study aims at evaluating the response of rice (Oryza sativa L.) to the dosage and type of organic fertilizer plus and organic pesticides under the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in tidal lowlands. This research was implemented at the rice field Desa Tanjung Sari, Kecamatan Tanjung Lago, Kota Terpadu Mandiri  (KTM) Telang, Kabupaten Banyuasin. The research was conducted from December 2010 until March 2011. It employedFactorial Group Randomized Design (RAK) to allow each factor were repeated 3 times for 5 plant samples. Variability analysis indicates that the provision of the dosage of organic fertilizer plus provided significant  effect on plant height, the number of seedlings, the number of productive seedlings, grain per panicle, production, and the percentage of infestation. However, it did not show significant  effect on the percentage of empty grains. The provision of organic pesticides provided significant effect on grain per panicle, production, the percentage of pests, but gave no effect on plant height, the number of seedlings, the number of productive seedlings, and the percentage of empty grains. The combination of powdered organic fertilizer plus of  750 kg / ha and  organic pesticides (animal and vegetable pesticides) gave  the highest production of 2.23 kg/plot or 5.57 ton/ha.

Abstract

This community service program is designed to enhance the digital literacy skills of teachers at SDN Mugarsari Tasikmalaya through the development of AI-based instructional material design. In today’s digital era, the integration of digital technologies in education has become essential. Technology has a significant impact on both teachers and students to improv the quality of learning fostering students’ skills and enhancing their learning motivation and self-confidence. However, it is found that many elementary school teachers still face challenges in using technology especially the use of artificial intelligence in developing learning materials. Therefore, continuous mentoring and intensive training are needed, particularly in the use of information technology as a tool for designing learning materials. There are various educational technologies that teachers can use in material design, such as videos, mobile devices, and AI-based applications. The use of artificial intelligence in education has recently become a widely discussed topic. AI-based technology offers great benefits and advantages due to its effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability. The development of AI-based learning materials such as the use of ChatGPT, Magic School, Canva AI, and Quizizz AI can contribute on the development of learning quality to create more creative and relevant instructional content. This activity is expected to be beneficial to improve teachers’ readiness in facing the challenges of 21st-century learning in the future.
