Abstract

The 2023 Dehasen University Bengkulu Community Service Program (KKN) was held at the Department of Food Crops Horticulture and Plantations UPTD BITPHPP in Tabalagan Village, Semidang Lagan District, Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. The work program carried out during this KKN period is "Artificial Vegetative Propagation of Fruit Plant Seedlings". This work program aims to make the community aware of how to propagate fruit plants effectively and efficiently. So that the output that you want to produce from this activity is a scientific article in the Journal of Community Service, a video of activities published on GoogleDrive and a Final Report in the form of a Report on the Results of the Implementation of UNIVED Thematic KKN Bengkulu Period 1 The methods used in Thematic Community Service (KKN) are participation methods, observation, interviews, literature study and documentation.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) is one of the student community service programs at Dehasen University. In 2025, KKN emphasizes the development of student creativity as well as an understanding of the conditions and potential of the target community. One of the main issues raised is the low reading interest among students in Indonesia, which remains a serious problem despite the increasing access to information through technology. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach to describe the understanding of school community members regarding literacy and its implementation in teaching and learning activities in elementary schools. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to understand the phenomenon in depth. The research results show that the reading method, which involves asking students to read a text and retell its content, accompanied by the provision of rewards, effectively improves students' reading skills significantly. Students showed improvement in understanding the text, recognizing difficult words, and visualizing the content of the reading. In addition, this activity also successfully increased students' interest in reading, making them more motivated to read other books. Teachers reported an improvement in students' speaking and writing skills as a result of this activity. Thus, the reading program implemented through community service (KKN) has proven effective in improving students' academic abilities while also building a strong literacy culture.

Abstract

Children’s education in Mekar Sari Village faces significant challenges due to low learning motivation caused by conventional teaching methods. The implemented educational program aims to enhance student motivation and involvement through an interactive, character-based learning approach. This method involves the use of visual media, educational games, and a fun learning environment. The results show that the interactive approach can improve students’ learning interest, enhance literacy and numeracy skills, and foster positive character development. Additionally, collaboration between educators, the community, and village leaders proves essential for the sustainability and success of the program. These findings align with previous studies indicating that character-based education strengthens student motivation. This program is expected to serve as a model for other villages to improve the quality of basic education in remote areas.

Abstract

Healthy exercise and communal work are effective community-based strategies for shaping a healthy and environmentally conscious society. In RT 50, Bengtungan Subdistrict, Bengkulu City, these two activities are carried out routinely and have shown positive impacts in various aspects. Group exercise not only improves residents' physical fitness but also strengthens social interaction. Meanwhile, community clean-up activities encourage environmental awareness, evident through improved cleanliness, waste management, and increased social solidarity. This study aims to illustrate the strategic role of these activities in promoting a healthy and clean lifestyle in the community. The results show that active citizen participation plays a crucial role in the success of the program and can serve as a model for other areas.

Abstract

Industri UMKM di Indonesia tengah menghadapi tantangan besar akibat dinamika dunia usaha yang semakin rumit. Agar tetap mampu bersaing, pelaku usaha dituntut untuk memahami factor-faktor yang memengaruhi keputusan konsumen saat membuat keputusan pembelian. UMKM Uni JN yang berada di Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah juga perlu mencermati aspek-aspek seperti produk, harga, promosi, tempat dan selera konsumen guna memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif tentang perilaku konsumen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji berbagai faktor yang berperan dalam memengaruhi keputusan konsumen dalam membeli suatu produk Selengkek Crispy di UMKM Uni JN. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengadopsi metode deskriptif kuantitatif serta menggunakan regresi linier berganda sebagai teknik analisis. Sampel diperoleh melalui metode non-probability random sampling. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keputusan pembelian konsumen Termasuk dalam kategori tinggi dengan rata-rata nilai 35,50. Secara individu, variabel produk, harga, dan selera konsumen terbukti memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian, sedangkan promosi dan tempat tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan. Meski demikian, secara keseluruhan kelima variabel tersebut secara bersamaan memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian. Dengan nilai R² sebesar 0,828, berarti bahwa model ini mampu menjelaskan 82,8% dari variasi keputusan pembelian, sementara 17,2% lainnya berasal dari variabel-variabel yang tidak termasuk dalam penelitian ini. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keefektifan persediaan dan pengelolaan bahan baku ikan gurame di Restoran Newtown Kopitiam Bukit Golf Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan enam informan yang terdiri dari Accounting, Helper, Admin Keuangan, Checker, dan Kepala Gudang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar variabel pengelolaan bahan baku berada pada kategori tinggi, meliputi ketepatan perencanaan, ketersediaan bahan baku, kondisi penyimpanan, waktu pengadaan, dan kualitas bahan sebelum pengolahan. Efektivitas terhadap pengelolaan bahan baku ikan gurame tercatat sebesar 182,14, yang mencerminkan kepercayaan yang tinggi terhadap sistem pengelolaan yang diterapkan. Namun, variabel ketepatan biaya persediaan masih berada pada kategori rendah, yang mengindikasikan adanya inefisiensi dalam pengeluaran biaya. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan evaluasi dan pengendalian biaya secara berkala melalui audit rutin, analisis pemasok, serta penerapan sistem manajemen berbasis teknologi guna meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan persediaan. Abstract

Environmental cleanliness is an important aspect in creating a healthy and comfortable quality of life for the community. One of the main problems that affects cleanliness is ineffective waste management, many people do not have full awareness in disposing of waste in its place, thus causing environmental pollution. To overcome this, the implementation of the 3R principle (reduce, Reuse, Recycle) is the right solution in managing waste sustainably. One effort that can be made is to utilize used drums as economical and environmentally friendly trash bins. This innovation not only reduces waste but also increases public awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness. The community welcomes the provision of trash bins in their residential areas.

Abstract

The problem of household organic waste accumulation is one of the new challenges in environmental management. One environmentally friendly and efficient solution is to utilize the biopore hole system as a method of processing organic waste into compost. Biopore holes are a simple technology in the form of vertical holes in the ground that function to accelerate the decomposition process of organic waste with the help of the activity of microorganisms and soil fauna. The purpose of this training is to increase public knowledge on how to process organic waste properly, while producing useful waste products such as compost. This activity is carried out in the form of lectures and practices, so that residents gain knowledge and skills in processing organic waste properly.

Abstract

This study examines the processing of household organic waste into liquid fertilizer in RT 08 RW 06 Betungan, Bengkulu, where the majority of the population migrated from South Bengkulu and work as farmers and daily laborers. With a population of around 875 people, the community in this area actively holds religious activities, religious studies, gymnastics, and weekly mutual cooperation, although awareness of household waste cleanliness still needs to be improved. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a purposive sample of 15-20 households that process waste. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed based on processing techniques, community participation, and fertilizer results. The results showed that processing organic waste into liquid fertilizer through fermentation with natural ingredients and EM4 microorganisms effectively reduces waste problems while increasing soil fertility and crop yields. This liquid fertilizer also reduces farmers' dependence on chemical fertilizers, making it more environmentally friendly and economical. This organic waste processing contributes to environmental sustainability and improving the welfare of the local community.

Abstract

Suka Negeri Village, Air Nipis District, South Bengkulu Regency is a village located in Bengkulu Province. Most of the residents of Suka Negeri Village depend on agriculture for their livelihood, namely rice, rubber, and palm oil farmers. In addition, the population is also engaged in fisheries, one of which is aquaculture. One of the fishery commodities that has bright prospects in this area is tilapia. Tilapia is a type of freshwater fish that has high economic value and is in demand by the community. The purpose of this study was to identify farmers' considerations and the effectiveness of tilapia production using still water ponds and fast-flowing water ponds in Suka Negeri Village, Air Nipis District, South Bengkulu Regency. The research method used was descriptive analysis using Likert scale measurements. The results of the study showed that tilapia farmers in Suka Negeri Village considered using still water ponds because the maintenance costs were cheaper with a percentage of cheaper maintenance costs of 51.8%. Meanwhile, tilapia farmers in Suka Negeri Village used fast-flowing water ponds because their production was higher, with a higher production percentage of 52.6%. For the effectiveness of tilapia production in still water ponds in Suka Negeri Village, Air Nipis District, it had a percentage of 53.91%, this value was included in the less effective category. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of tilapia production in fast-flowing water ponds in Suka Negeri Village, Air Nipis District, had a percentage of 70.58%.
