Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the components of the Theory of Planned Behavior, which consists of positive attitude, peer influence, and zakat knowledge on the compliance behavior of paying zakat profession with the intention to pay zakat as an intervening variable update case in covid 19. This research is a quantitative study using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The sample used is 100 respondents based on the calculation of the Slovin formula with 129 respondents of zakat profession payers (muzakki) in Indonesia. Empirical findings indicate that a positive attitude and zakat knowledge positively and significantly affect the intention to pay zakat. The intention to pay zakat has a significant positive effect on the compliance behavior of paying zakat profession even during covid 19. Meanwhile, peer influence has no significant impact on the intention to pay zakat due to the Covid 19 era. Policymakers need to pay more attention to the factors that have been identified in this study as essential factors to become a reference in developing strategies to increase zakat collection. Zakat is one of potential Islamic social fund to eradicate poverty as impact of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to investigate the long-term and short-term impacts of digitalization and macroeconomic factors on zakat collections in Indonesia. It explores and validates the successful use of the Internet and a country's economic conditions to maximize zakat collection.Methodology – This study employs annual time series data from 1991 to 2024 to examine zakat collections in Indonesia, with digitalization and macroeconomic performance as the key exogenous variables. The selected period captures major economic disruptions, including the Asian Financial Crisis, 2008 global financial crisis, and post-pandemic recovery. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model was applied to assess the long-short dynamic relationship effect among the variables.Findings – This study addresses hypothesis by empirically confirms that the integration of digitalization and macroeconomic improvements plays a pivotal role in enhancing zakat collections in Indonesia. The findings reveal a favorable long-term and short-term impact of digitalization on zakat collection, and long-term positive effects and short-term negative effects of macroeconomic conditions.Implications – This study provides critical insights for BAZNAS and other zakat institutions in designing and implementing sustainable digital strategy policies that enhance zakat mobilization and management efficiency. By integrating digital transformation initiatives with a forward-looking approach to future economic dynamics, zakat organizations can strengthen transparency and improve donor engagement.Originality – This research presents a unique contribution by addressing the scarcity of studies on zakat collections that incorporate both long-term and short-term analyses. Furthermore, research incorporating macroeconomics and digitalization as external factors in the study of zakat remains limited.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the intention to purchase halal food through online platforms among Generation Z in Indonesia. The research is based on data from 145 respondents, analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that facilitating conditions and social influence do not significantly affect attitude, although social influence has a significant impact on purchase intention. Performance expectancy significantly influences both attitude and intention, while effort expectancy significantly affects attitude but not intention. Overall, attitude has a significant impact on purchase intention. Based on these findings, Shopee Barokah should enhance its performance by ensuring the platform is user-friendly through optimized interface design and the addition of features that simplify the purchasing process. Moreover, advertisements featuring influencer reviews can be strengthened to leverage the significant effect of social influence on purchase intention. Ensuring smooth technological and infrastructural support such as responsive customer service, secure payment methods, and fast delivery can further boost Generation Z’s intention to shop on the platform.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the influence of zakat fund distribution on the productive behavior patterns of mustahiks in Indonesia, involving the moderating role of financial literacy. This study additionally examines the alterations in the behavior patterns of mustahiks following the receipt of zakat fund assistance.Methodology – This study employed a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design to examine the behavioral impacts of zakat distribution. In the quantitative phase, survey data were collected from 109 purposively selected mustahiks, using Likert-type items. The data were analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to estimate the effects of Zakat distribution on both productive and consumptive behavior, while also testing the moderating role of financial literacy.Findings – The results show that the variable of zakat fund distribution has a positive and significant effect on the productive and consumptive behavior of mustahik. The interplay of Sharia financial literacy as a moderating component can affect the connection between zakat fund distribution.Implications – The results of this research can be used as a reference for zakat institutions to monitor the impact of zakat fund distribution on beneficiaries and understand the factors influencing it.Originality – This research contributes to the existing literature by providing concrete evidence regarding the impact of zakat fund distribution on the behavior patterns of mustahiks, whether they receive productive or consumptive zakat. Additionally, there is an examination of the role of financial literacy, which acts as a factor that can strengthen or weaken that relationship.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of work motivation on employee satisfaction and performance at Al-Qur’an Nurul Falah Islamic Boarding School located in East Java. In addition, the study explores the role of employee satisfaction as a mediating variable in the relationship between work motivation and employee performance. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing data analysis techniques through Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data were collected through a survey using questionnaires distributed to employees within the boarding school environment. To evaluate the research model, tests were conducted to assess validity and reliability using convergent validity, discriminant validity, composite reliability, as well as path coefficient analysis to determine the relationships between variables. The results indicate that work motivation has a significant and positive influence on employee satisfaction, with a T-statistic value of 4.636 (p < 0.05). Furthermore, employee satisfaction significantly and positively affects performance, with a T-statistic value of 3.473 (p < 0.05). However, work motivation does not have a significant direct effect on employee performance, as shown by the significance value of 0.166 (> 0.05). Nonetheless, work motivation has an indirect influence on performance through employee satisfaction as a mediating variable, as evidenced by the path coefficient value, which indicates a full mediation effect. These findings provide recommendations for the management of Al-Qur’an Nurul Falah Islamic Boarding School to formulate policies that enhance work motivation and employee satisfaction in order to improve performance. Moreover, this study contributes theoretically to the development of human resource management studies, particularly within the context of Islamic-based educational institutions.

Abstract

One can interpret the hijra community's economic impact in Indonesia as both beneficial and detrimental. The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the typology of the Indonesian Islamic entrepreneurial movement and the hijrah community movement's compromise model for economic rules. Observations at community business locations, interviews with entrepreneurs in 10 communities, documentation in the form of brochures, photos of activities, and information on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp groups were used in the research, which followed a case study methodology. Three of the 22 informants who were thoroughly questioned were expert informants. The regions of origin of the informants included Java, Sumatra, Bali, NTB, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan. To generate fresh hypotheses, data were examined using theoretical PPIM and Carter and Banker's hijra community typology propositions. The study's findings demonstrate the political conservatism of the hijra community's Islamic economic movement. Specifically, the dominant economic system, the Islamic economic movement, aims to replace conventional or ribawi economics, or is portrayed as such in the dual system notion.

Abstract

The low marketing literacy of MSMEs in Kaliombo Village, Pekalongan Regency, has resulted in low marketing activities such as packaging, product branding, and digital marketing. Apart from that, the literacy of MSME actors in the Village regarding halal products is still low, so they require readiness for the marketed products to comply with Government Regulations regarding Halal Product Guarantees. This government regulation requires that all products traded are halal so that they enter the halal ecosystem. This community service is carried out with training and mentoring activities to increase literacy regarding the importance of branding, packaging, digital marketing, and halal-haram to prepare MSME residents of Kaliombo Village to face competition in the market and enter the halal ecosystem. This empowerment includes socialization and assistance regarding concepts, uses, and how to apply branding, packaging, digital marketing, and halal-haram to the Kaliombo Village community farmer groups. This empowerment has an impact on increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs through optimizing brand design, packaging design, creating and developing social media accounts, and preparing to self-declare for halal certification permits for MSMEs.

This study examines the potential for cash waqf as a source of social financing for infrastructure development. This research then builds the best model to optimize cash waqf using Sharia financial technology. This research will discuss some of the problems that hamper the development of cash waqf in Indonesia as well as providing some solutions to further enhance its development.

Abstract

Zakah is an important instrument in Indonesia's economic growth. This is considered important because it can mobilize owned assets for economic growth by empowering certain groups in society, however the potential of zakah in Indonesia has not been maximized optimally, so that community welfare has not yet been achieved. Empirically, the intention to give zakat is a determining factor in increasing the results of zakat collection. The aim of this research is to explore and examine how big the influence of Humanity and Trust is in increasing the intention to repay zakah. This research analyzes intentions in repay zakah. This research uses a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques based on Partial Least Square (PLS) with primary muzakki data from 100 respondents. The research results show that humanity is not significant in the intention to repay zakah, but if Trust is an intervening variable, then humanity indirectly influences the intention to repay zakat very strongly. Trust is the main key in increasing zakat payments to zakah institutions.

Abstract

Introduction: The rapid development of technology requires business people to adapt, especially in consumer decision-making. This study aims to analyze the effect of online customer reviews and online customer ratings on consumer purchase intentions. Religiosity is the moderating variable in this study. Methods The research method used is quantitative, with PLS-SEM as the evaluation model. Respondents used Muslim, gender male, and female, and were aged 17 years and over, totaling 101 respondents. Where the data was taken by providing an online questionnaire spread on Java Island from April until June 2022. Results: The results showed that online customer reviews did not affect consumers' purchase intentions. On the other hand, online customer ratings influence consumers' purchase intentions. In the moderating variable, religiosity does not have a moderating effect between the dependent and independent variables. Conclusion and suggestion: The rapid development of technology today presents many online platforms. The study's results stated that the Customer Online Review variable did not affect purchase intentions, while the customer online rating variable influenced purchase intention. The researchers advise Muslim fashion business actors who use the media marketplace as a means to sell their products to improve product quality and establish relationships with consumers so that consumers can make repeat purchases. The strategy can be used in developing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team.
