Abstract

Tolerance serves as an essential foundation within the plurality of global society; however, contemporary social realities continue to exhibit complex challenges, including discrimination and intolerant narratives that erode social cohesion. Religious educational institutions, specifically Pesantren, play a pivotal role in mitigating these issues through the strategic internalization of spiritual values. This study aims to analyze the mechanisms of internalizing tolerance values among students at Pesantren of Darul Istiqomah for Female Campus, Bondowoso. Some existing studies have not answered how women's Pesantren internalize the character of tolerance. So, this study seeks to fill the gap. Adopting a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, data were gathered through observation, in-depth interviews with institutional authorities (the Director of TMI, caregivers, and teachers), and documentation. The data were subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that the cultivation of a tolerant character is executed through three integrated pathways: curricular (classroom instruction), co-curricular (supervised night study), and extracurricular (independent activities and organizational mandates). Furthermore, the 24-hour dormitory system acts as a primary catalyst in fostering spiritual discipline and social sensitivity among students. The implications of this research underscore that a holistic, Pesantren-based educational model which integrates formal instruction with controlled residential life effectively produces moderate individual profiles. This study offers a theoretical contribution to the development of character education curricula as a response to the global crisis of tolerant through a value-based pedagogical approach.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes and engagement through the use of technology-based introductory learning media in the Fiqh subject at MI Al-Ma’arif Sidolaju Ngawi. The problem underlying this study is the low level of student participation and learning outcomes that have not yet met the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM), caused by the dominance of traditional teaching methods and the limited use of learning media appropriate to the students’ characteristics. This study employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted over two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 22 Year 5 pupils in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques included observation of pupil activities, learning outcome tests, interviews, and documentation. Each cycle comprised the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results of the study showed an increase in student learning activity from 51.6% in cycle I to 57.92% in cycle II. Furthermore, the average learning outcome score increased from 63 in cycle I to 80 in cycle II. These findings indicate that the use of technology-based introductory learning media is effective in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes in the subject of Fiqh. This study is limited by a small sample size, the scope of a single class, and a relatively short research duration, so the results cannot yet be generalized widely. Therefore, future research is recommended to involve larger samples, more diverse contexts, and longer implementation periods to obtain more comprehensive findings.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to determine the effect of offline web-based interactive multimedia on students' biology learning outcomes in the human and ruminant digestive systems. The study also aims to compare the effectiveness of this media with conventional learning media in the form of presentation slides. Methodology: The study used a quasi-experimental method with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling. The research instrument was a multiple-choice biology learning outcome test. Data analysis used the Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, and the t-test. Data processing was performed using Microsoft Excel and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software. Main Findings: The results showed that the pretest and posttest data were normally distributed and homogeneous. There was no significant difference in pretest scores between the experimental and control groups. There was a significant difference in posttest scores between the two groups. The group using offline web-based interactive multimedia achieved higher learning outcomes than the group using presentation slides. This medium has been proven effective in improving students' biology learning outcomes. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research lies in the application of offline web-based interactive multimedia to biology learning, specifically the concept of the human and ruminant digestive systems. This research provides an innovative alternative digital learning media that can be used without an internet connection, thereby expanding the use of educational technology and adding empirical references regarding the effectiveness of interactive media in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the book Riyadh al-Shalihin by Imam Nawawi, one of the classical works that has significantly influenced Islamic literature, particularly in the development of ethical teachings. The book presents a collection of hadiths that emphasize the values of adab, which serve as an essential foundation in Islamic education and character formation. In the context of globalization and rapid technological development, Islamic education plays an increasingly important role in shaping the moral character of Muslim individuals. This study aims to analyze the concepts of adab and knowledge presented in Riyadh al-Shalihin and their implications for the design of an Islamic education curriculum, focusing on educational objectives, learning processes, and evaluation systems that can cultivate knowledgeable and well-mannered students. Using a literature study method, the research analyzes various relevant sources, including books and historical documents. The findings indicate that an education model grounded in adab and knowledge implemented through the internalization of moral values, teacher role modeling, and a curriculum that integrates theory with daily practice can effectively enhance students’ understanding and application of Islamic teachings. Furthermore, integrating religious and general knowledge into the curriculum contributes to a broader, more relevant learning experience. Further studies are recommended to deepen the development of learning processes and evaluation models in curricula inspired by Riyadh al-Shalihin.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of social competence in final-year santri through the implementation of the Field Da’wah Practice Program (PDL) based on Project-Based Learning (PBL) at PPTQ Qoryatul Qur’an Sukoharjo. This research employs a qualitative case study approach focusing on the implementation of PDL as a project-based learning model and its contribution to the development of santri’s social competence. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving pesantren leaders, program supervisors, and final-year santri, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model supported by triangulation techniques. The findings indicate that PDL reflects the core stages of PBL, including problem identification, project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Each stage contributes to the development of key social competencies, such as communication skills, interpersonal awareness, emotional regulation, leadership, and responsibility.

Abstract

The formation of moral character is a fundamental aspect of Islamic education, which emphasizes the balance between intellectual development and moral development. This research focuses on sustainable and innovative efforts implemented in the Islamic education system at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 2 to form the moral character of prospective students for the 2025–2026 academic year. This study uses a qualitative approach with a field study design. Participants include prospective students, teachers, and staf. Data is collected by observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The findings of the study show that continuous innovation in Islamic education at Gontor Putri Campus 2 is reflected in the integration of intramural, extracurricular, and daily habituation activities rooted in the local wisdom of Islamic boarding schools. Discipline, internalization of values, and exemplary behavior shown by Senior Teachers, Ustadzah and Mudabbirah are key factors in shaping the morals of karimah among prospective students. The study highlights that sustainable, locally-based innovation in Islamic education plays an important role in preparing the youngest generation who are moral, adaptive, and competitive to face the challenges of the times.
